  1. I've had a V6 and a ctm300. In all honesty and it breaks me to say it, both were just too inflexible for the band I was in. Both got lost in the mix and didn't have the mid drive to find their way out. I wish I'd had more time with them to play around further. If I had a choice I'd say the V6 was nicer as it was a lot lighter (prob half the weight) and smoother. What was weird though is I had to push both of them very hard volume wise. Completely personal choice though.
  2. Ahhh, it breaks me to do this, but needs must.... For sale my immaculate Fender FSR (Fender special run) Precision bass in Electron Green! Reportedly only 200 made. These are fantastic basses. Not too heavy for a P bass and easy to play. They sound and record great. The colour is amazing. It should be awful, but it's not. It's lovely. It brings a bit of joy when you look at it. The list price is the lowest I will accept. It represents great value especially with the rare colour and condition. Does not come with case pictured. Collection Leyland Lancashire.
  3. Excellent piece of kit for wireless monitoring. Xvive U4. Consists of transmitter and receiver. Also this is charged by USB so no need to worry about traditional batteries. Hardly used to be fair. Great condition. Only slight blemish is the side of the transmitter with U4 written on and that's only because I had a piece of velcro on and I removed it for this sale. Please see photos. Comes boxed with all instructions and paperwork as well as carry bag and charging cable. Pick up Leyland or can post for £10.
  4. OK so a decent practice tonight to test. Firstly, this cab is SO easy to move around. Much much easier than I thought. It's the correct height when using the top handle, so you don't have to stoop (I'm 6"2) it also feels very light when wheeling. The wheels are quality and theres a kick plate to tilt so you don't ruin your cab. Clever. It also has side handles at the perfect position so the cab doesn't feel heavy, or as heavy as its claimed 30kg when you have to lift that way. Sound wise.... Lovely. As I said previous my precision sounded like a raw precision into a recording desk with the Digbeth head pretty much flat. In truth I didn't move much from that setting and it just complemented the whole band very nicely. Warm and punchy. Lock in with the cymbals and it's a tremendous sound. That raw precision sound fits so nicely into any band mix. It probably sounds too raw on its own, but as we know in the mix it sits perfectly. The more we played it just carried on doing a superb job. Lovely and warm in the mix. Punch where needed and a nice fat warmth when not. I really didn't have to do any eqing to get a great sound. Oh, and volume not a problem at all! The amp head height was great, load in and out very easy and it looked the part. It would fool many into thinking it was a 'proper' full stack by both looks and sound. I'm 100% sure this cab can deliver any sound. It's just ironic that I found mine straight away. It also handled synth bass very well. Of course there's always a honeymoon period with any new gear, but this meets all my criteria to the point I genuinely can't think of a better all round cab for any money. Lovely sound. Great range. Adjustable tweeter. Easy to transport. No stooping to move around. Great height if I need to put anything on top of my amp. Real loud. Looks cool. 4 ohm. Looks like a 'proper' rig. Built to last. Very very happy.
  5. No worries. I'll let everyone know how it sounds.
  6. I've picked one up this week. Taking it to practice this week. Early practice at home first impressions - it looks fantastic. Bigger than I thought but not as heavy. It's easy to move. Sound wise, it seems to really adapt to eq. Flat my precision sounds like a raw precision into a desk. Add a touch of eq and get the volume up and it's a different beast. I tried it with my stingray and just altered the active eq on that and it had such a wide response that I'd be sure you could get any sound you wanted from this cab.
  7. This tilts the whole eq. Ie if its too bassy turn to treble side and it will shift everything accordingly. I've never had to mess with it for more than 1 minute without finding the perfect setting. It takes all the hassle out of messing with 3,4,5 different dials or sliders and gives you a great tone.
  8. Usually I just run Amps flat with a little mid boost. If that ever doesn't work Laney have the best one dial trick there is. It's called a tilt dial. It takes whatever your favoured eq settings are (ie what you like in a good room) and tilts them either basswards or treblewwards. It keeps your eq across the spectrum and just subtly tilts it if it's too bass or not bass enough for that room. This is much better than adding or cutting a specific bass eq etc. If not, the usually dials are there if needed, but the tilt does a great job.
  9. For sale x2 off Taurus 112 cabs with switchable horn. Great cabs. Powerful and sturdy. Great sound. One has lift with top handle. Switchable horn to suit. Top hat attachments and feet so they lock into each other perfect. These look cool and sound lovely and warm. And have the luxury of fitting easily in a car. No matter what (easier than a 212). They also have dual speak on and Jack fitments. £150 each or £195 for both. Pick up Leyland Lancashire. Photos to follow.
  10. Hi all, I got this pedal only a week or two ago and it's that good I went and got it's bigger brother the sy300. Hardly used, in great condition. No box or psu. Just used a standard 9v adaptor. Collection Leyland Lancashire or will post.
  11. I had the rithimic 4. It really was an odd thing... Beautiful to look at. Then on another day a bit ugly and weird.... Sounded good but didn't have a great deal of personality or thump to it. Playability was great. They are very very good basses though.
  12. Hi everyone, I don't know if anyone can help with this? I'm looking for a synth pedal that can cover 2 songs: INXS elegantly wasted and INXS dissappear (the piano type sound at the start) Would the future impact be able to do these? All the pedals I've seen demod are pretty much static notes. Any help appreciated.
  13. Hi, really daft question.... Will this do a sound like the bass synth on elegantly wasted by inxs? I have an sy1 and can't get anywhere near that sound.
  14. Having just got one I'll have to say the Harley Benton mm4a at £169. Stunning for that price.
  15. I have to take my request back..... I tried the bass today as standard and it was fantastic!! What a great bass this is. Genuinely 5 different sounds, built in eq. Lovely. The setting inbetween neck and middle is genuinely better than my old g&l l2000 USA. I'm so impressed by this bass.
  16. Qhi all, does anyone have a link to these warman pickups? Also will they just swap straight in? I've the double humbucker Harley benton and that has the 5 way switch and is active?
  17. For me, Laney have this market sown up, if only more people tried them. The Digbeth 500 head looks lovely and vintage. The cabs are all 4ohm and the whole range looks vintage and lovely like old ampegs. Sound is fantastic. I like ampeg, but I can't get on board with those looks I'm afraid.
  18. With the decline of physical music shops on the high street, I thought I'd give promenade music in morecambe a great big up! Super helpful nice staff, x2 separate rooms for demoing gear in peace and quiet and to be fair the best bass collection I've ever seen. Loads and loads of sandbergs, rickenbackers, yamaha, Fender, squire, mark bass and much more. Makes pmts selection look like a small collection. Superb music shop. Highly recommended.
  19. What was the lp everyone had around then with the dice on? Was it 'Hits 5'? Everyone I knew had that for some reason. That and Now 10 a few years later...
