2.
[snip] piezo in the nut [snip]
What would be the reason for putting the piezo in the nut rather than the bridge please?
3. Forgive my ignorance but is it the case that some light weight class d bass amps/heads use common power amp modules, and I suppose, their corresponding power supplies? e.g. the B&O modules mentioned. So debate about the relative virtues of amps x,y, and z are in fact only really comparing the preamp stage, which itself is only really about the overdrive/compression, 'baked-in' eq contouring, and eq control elements?
4. Could the cost of occasional damage be considered as factored into the amount charged for performing? Especially as intoxication is a known hazard, both off and on stage... :-) So I suppose I'm saying you did handle the situation correctly IMHO
5.
... heavyweight amps will tend to have more oomph than similarly priced lightweight amps, so you get full power for a whole big bass note rather than just the start of it.
Is this important perceptually? I.e. although it is measurable with some device is it measurable by the average ear, or given that the ear in question has an above average concern with acoustics, an above average ear?
6. Would this do the trick? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Small-folding-Step-Stool-Colours/dp/B002UYPZ04
7. I sold an effects pedal to Peter. Good communications and no problems with the sale. Enjoy :-)
8.
I have nothing to add here other than to say its threads like this that keep me coming back to this site time and again. Some excellent knowledge imparted here. Thanks chaps (and chapesses)
+1 from me also, thanks for all the time and patience.
9. Classic pitch shifting with drop and raised tuning; http://digitech.com/...ducts/whammy-dt Never been out of the bedroom. I bought this for drop tunings, but ended up with drop tuning on the bass anyway so no longer required. Comes with all the boxes, bags, bits and manuals. I'm ok to post it.
10. MaxMSP is a visual programming language that helps you build complex, interactive [audio] programs without any prior experience with programming. Taken from; http://www.instructables.com/id/Intro-to-MaxMSP/ Not that has any certainty of helping. Is it the programming concepts, the audio concepts, or both, that are unclear?
11. According to the article "Streaming now accounts for one-third of the US music industry's income" so, with all things being equal, did this track earn that guy $17000 ?
12. There's a bit more information in the link to the product http://www.eternal-midnight.net/page.php?cat=masnlive&id=0&gallery=none
13.
Makes sense - the RH750 is a nice amp, and easily capable of doing all you`re after. Jennie Innie posted a clip of her sound on here - think she called it shock and awe - and it was great. If a search doesn`t find it maybe message her, see if she can help out on tracking it down. 14. I'm adding a +1 to all the positive feedback above for yet another flawless trade with Steve.
15. I can recommend the Audix OM5 http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002GXQ2QQ This mic seems to be feedback proof no matter what, even in a 2 guitar metal band

17. This is the setup I use but now with DR DDT strings (on the advice of Mark at Bass Direct) with a 34" scale and works fine for me so maybe something like that might be worth trying as it's just the cost of a 4 string set and a setup. Plus no mods to the guitar.
18. "GarageBand.com was a large online community of independent musicians and music fans. Founded in 1999, the site was used by musicians who were seeking greater exposure and critical insight provided by an audience of their peers. The site was also used by music fans to discover new independent artists in the site's vast collection. Some is Creative Commons-licensed music content, announced in 2004. Garageband closed its doors in June 2010, offering users migration to iLike" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GarageBand.com
19.
You don't have to say how much (if any) exercise you do but I found (on top of what has previously been suggested in this thread) doing a bit of weights (with proper form of course) really helped me. I used to be struggling a bit at the end of a three hour rehearsal session but now I hardly feel the weight of the bass at all - having slightly stronger muscles really help with posture away from the bass too. Doesn't need to be anything too strenuous/heavy but doing a few of the big compound movements (squats, bench, shoulder press, careful deadlifts etc...) has really helped me.
+1 deadlifts are the best resistance training for posture and grip strength
20.
In a word, Audacity. Simple as it gets and free!
+1
21.
What a difference 1lb makes.
This alone suggests to me that it's little to do with the pure dead weight of the bass and actually a combination of factors like the distribution of weight and shape of the instrument and player (moment-angles?) coupled with the strength and posture of the latter and a whole host of other factors too

24.
People go to cinemas to watch recordings of people perform acting.
Yes, isn't the bottom line that people want to be entertained, and it's not for entertainers to define what is 'real' entertainment as the (paying) customer is king. A brief overview of YouTube shows that cats are the best entertainers... :-)
