1.
The overall quality of the bass, the string gauge but also a good setup. I've played 34" basses that had a better B than other 35, simply because the overall quality of the bass was better. That's not to say that 35" doesn't have an effect; IMHO it still does, but the quality of the construction of the bass is more important.
My experience says the same. All of the guitars in my sig are strung with a B and they are all consistent across strings. There are 34, 35, & 37 (for the B ) scale and bo, set, & thru necks. I think that 35" is a better scale for all strings than 34 (possibly excepting the G.) Build quality is all.
 2. If I had my way I'd have no fretboard inlays... and black fret wire, and probably black strings :-)
 3. Thanks, it wouldn't be for sale if I hadn't been so impressed the NS Design radius WAV and need to raise the cash for the CR version!

 6. Price includes postage in the UK. This bass is in pristine condition as I've hardly played it (only about 4 or 5 hours or so at home) as I didn't get on with it being passive. 7. I bought this bass about 6 months ago on BassChat to try and have never taken it out of the house. It sounds great and is set up with a really low action, but I have come to terms with the fact 5 string basses are not for me. Someone commented on the previous sale thread "This one is a pre-EURO model, full maple wings instead of the alder/walnut/maple they using in the last 10 or so years." "Since 1993 we have been producing world class basses at our Czech Republic factory. The EuroLX basses use the same USA maple neck-thru neck blank, truss rod, graphite rods, & EMG pickups as its USA counterpart so the heart of the bass is Spector USA. EuroLX exclusive features include body wings made of USA figured maple over European alder with a slice of walnut between (less weight than solid maple wings)" From; http://spectorbass.c...ro5lxtrade.html
 8. Bought on BassChat a bit over two years ago to try out, but I never really clicked with it, even though the fan frets were simple to get used to, so it's been sitting in the case for most of that time. Lovely guitar in very good condition with only a couple of small dinks (shown in photos)
 9.
" 'Made the admission" ? Makes him sound like he's owning up to something sordid. "Hello, my name is William and I....I play bass guitar"
My thoughts exactly. :-)
 10. It's getting old with the music middlemen bitching and whining about how little the 'artist' gets from internet radio/streaming distribution when all they're really p1ssed about is how there is now no cash to be had by sitting in the middle fleecing both producer and consumer (With thanks to Steve Albini.) Internet radio/streaming is just that - radio, so compare 38 million internet 'plays' with a track getting radio airplay once with 38 million radio receivers being listened to (worldwide.) How much would the artist get there? Probably just dashed dreams and a large debt.
 11. Sorry this is slightly OT but I treated myself to this; http://www.thomann.de/gb/keith_mcmillen_batt_o_meter.htm Neat piece of gear for in situ battery checking, also does some magic to tell you how many hours the battery has left (in the tested guitar I guess)
 12.
Anyway what,s best for metal ?
:-)
 13.
I'd never have the balls to order anything directly from China.
I've had loads of stuff directly from China (via eBay usually) and have had no problems and only experienced from good to excellent value for money.
 14.
I bought two boxes of Duracell Procell 9v batteries and they didn't last long at all. All done about 20 of them under a year. I wouldn't use them again for basses. I now have gone back to whatever Duracell or Energiser I find and they are fine.
I had this problem and it turned out to be a short
 15.
Ubit - ultimately if what sounds 'right' to many, sounds 'bad' to you, this debate might never end
So at what point does playing before the beat change from feel to anticipation? ;-) probably about where the fairy hole is... :-D
 16. +1 for no subdivisions on the basis of where would it end? I.e. sub sub-divisions, sub-sub-subdivisions and so on where I could filter by model, price, scale length, colour, weight, etc. That sort of thing requires specialist software and much time and effort
 17. I did a bit of testing a while back with hartke 410 & 115 VX. Set them up 410 on 115 and vice versa then next to each other both ways round and used each on it's own and both together for each configuration. Didn't seem to make any difference to the sound other than two cabs were louder than one cab.
 18.
I've obviously missed something.. Status Update?
You're not the only one !?
 19.
+1 The article is a personal view only. Better engineers than him have been happy to let Nathan East and his 5 and 6 string basses loose on their multi million selling hit records records for the last 30 years.
+1
 20.
I really cant stand it when I hear the derogatory term "Guitards" used to insult our 6 string friends. I have a brother who has learning difficulties and this term upsets me.
+1
Mid-Atlantic pretentiousness abounds on here. People think it's cool to say Pull the trigger when it just makes them sound like a numptie.
...pretentiousness ... People think it's cool to say [whatever] when it just makes them sound like a numptie OMG I'm 110% groovy with this going forward... like.. :-)
 21. I think that as long as the fixings are into brick and not mortar then you'll be OK, as in a couple of the brown rawlplugs would support way more than the 7kg that the hanger does, something in region of 10 to 20 times. Although they do need installing properly... Just noticed the bit about the plasterboard being on battens. Could you secure a plank across battens and then secure the hangers to the plank in order to get the desired hanging position?
 22. I'll second, or +1 as it seems to be these days, the topic's 'motion' as motion does seem to follow GAS.. But anyway; I too had the experience of a reply from PJ even though my query was really trivial.
 23.
...Im actually feeling bit ill from this, and one of guitarists says he is worried he aint good enough...
It's just playing your instrument, don't worry about it, it'll sound better than you think :-)
 24. Congrats & just in case they were missed; US spectors http://basschat.co.uk/topic/247736-is-an-ns2-really-worth-the-money/ Tonepump http://basschat.co.uk/topic/93320-spector-tonepump-is-not-boost-only/
