1. Like a tone so transparent you can see through it, and the option to adjust the pickup placement to wherever you wish? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Customised-electric-bass-guitar-with-black-shoulder-strap-and-green-lead/362794743231 Just don't worry about the head dive, questionable intonation (the Strat body must be too short for the scale length, right?), and general mechanical unsoundness of the wood at that neck joint.
2. As far as the sound goes, they're the same, but there *is* (or should be) a difference between the two halves: they're wound in opposite directions to cancel hum. They should have opposite magnetic poles, too, so that they're in phase if used in a PJ (or PP!) configuration.

NBD,

As a shamisen player, I'd argue that three is plenty!
4. How do they manage to fit the windings in the tiny space between the pole piece and the cover?!
5. This is my old bass! By coincidence, I came across a video of myself playing it yesterday, and felt a pang of nostalgia. It sounds great, it plays great, and thanks to decent hardware and twin trussrods, it's really stable. It's not the lightest bass, but that's really the only downside.
6. I do 3D printing. If you can give me the precise dimensions, I'd be happy to help.
7. It says on the side that it's made by ALCO and that its part number is MTA206PA. A bit of searching turns up a datasheet with details. It's a SP3T switch, on-on-on, with a shaft 6.4mm diameter and 8mm long, and a blade 10.49mm long. The voltage rating doesn't matter for this application. The good news is, it still appears to be available, but it looks like you might have to source it from the US. It doesn't appear to come with the black plastic toggle; maybe that can be removed and transferred to the new switch.
8. Scrunched up aluminium foil and a little water is pretty effective for cleaning chrome: It's softer than chrome, but harder than rust.
9. I'm prepared to ship to Romania as long as I receive full payment in advance via bank transfer. I can also accept payment in EUR if that's easier for you.
10. This might be an ignorant question – the only metal I've ever played was back when you could do it with EADG (or E♭A♭D♭G♭ at a push) – but that's a really peculiar tuning, so close to but not quite standard. What led you to choose it?
11.
String spacing?
It's in the first post!
String spacing is 17 mm at the bridge. The neck is 54 mm wide at the nut.

12.
Just to say, Scott Devine just articulated what I thought about his active buffer P bass. This is specific to P basses may I add. I like an active J, but for me, a P bass is best served passive.
It wouldn't surprise me if you could make it sound passive with a couple of hundred pF capacitor across the input of the active buffer, as the only real difference is the capacitance of the cable (generally 30-50 pF/ft).
13. Ernie Ball didn't fit compensated nuts in 1993, did they? The patent wasn't even filed until 1998.
14.
Also any Apple kit if you still have all the packaging is worth selling even if it doesn't work.
I found an old wired remote for a 3rd gen iPod whilst clearing out last year. It was dirty, and had a small crack in the plastic of the plug. I photographed it, drew attention to the flaws, and put in on eBay for £5. It sold in two days!
15.
I still have this niggling memory, though, of someone filling chambers with echo-deadening foam. May have dreamt it or it may be nothing to do with guitars and basses....
This kind of stuff as used by plumbers?
16. Quickest and easiest transaction ever! Simon turned up as agreed, gave me money, and walked away with my Markbass CMD 151P.
17. I've always been mystified by this from the other side, when I read ads that say "needs new strings". The second thing I do when I buy a used bass is put new strings on it! The first thing I do, of course, is to disassemble it and give it a good clean to remove the previous player's biological residue. I guess I know why people write that now: to pre-emptively deflect the unreasonable expectations of purchasers.
18. Hipshot do the lightweight machines for both 9/16" (~ 14 mm) and 11/16" (~ 17mm) holes: https://store.hipshotproducts.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=108 The larger size should be right for your bass. They're not cheap, mind.
19. Make sure he pays you up front: he has a bit of a reputation.
20. Someone asked me privately, but it's worth answering here too: this is the Italian version.
