  1. Just dug out my Athlete cds. Such a great, yet overlooked band!
  2. Wasn't production stopped due to them not selling well? Anyway, it'll no doubt sell........... If he knocks about £1600 off of the price that is.
  3. Not been in a band for a good few years now! Of course I miss playing gigs, but on the same level I don't miss, lugging gear about, indifferent audiences, band members who are not really committed, or band members who think that band and it's members are their property. Don't sell all of your gear though....You will regret it! I went 6 years without as bass in the house and it was shyte. I realise I'm in the minority here, but these days I enjoy learning songs that I want to learn, and I'm quite happy playing along to them at home.
  4. Sets in Black would be very fetching.... Just saying.😎
  5. NorthWest Guitars do Fender fit pickguards in a variety of finishes for 15 and a bit quid. Here's the one I've just recently fitted to my Squier CV 70's P, the screw holes matched up perfectly.
  6. That little short scale Encore is a US made Precision compared to the piece of crap that was my first, it was a single pickup version of the monstrosity below, it had an action you could drive a bus under, it met it's demise when the strap button screw gave way and it hit the ground and three of the cast metal stemmed machine heads snapped clean off.
  7. Some Aussie goodness for the uninitiated!
  8. Not played in a band for many years, but always loved covering the usual suspects from the hard rock genre. Eg. UFO, Thin Lizzy, Blackfoot & Free through to Van Halen, Reo Speedwagon, Y&T.
  9. I wouldn't say he was underappreciated, though he may have been overlooked as their career went on and his basslines became less adventurous and his tone not as aggressively prominent.
  10. The G, Bb, G, F, G repetition at the end of No More Heroes used to result in serious left hand pain.
  11. Especially the ones filled with bodily waste fluids! Which reminds me, the last time I was at Donington was 1986, and I witnessed some unfortunates get plastered with the contents of a plastic bag which, by the looks of them contained not only urine. They quickly lost interest in watching The Scorpions.
  12. Could be a case of rumbled by the other half.
  13. I seem to recall there being hell on over it a good few years back.... More than likely why Miss Imbruglia is well under the radar these days.
  14. The Damned - Looking At You. (MC5) The Damned - White Rabbit. (Jefferson Airplane) Ramones - Baby, I Love You. (Ronnie Spector) Ramones - Have You Ever Seen The Rain? (Creedence Clearwater Revival) The Stranglers - Walk On By. (Dionne Warwick) The Tom Robinson Band - I Shall Be Released. (Bob Dylan) UFO - Built For Comfort. (Willie Dixon) UFO - Alone Again Or.... (Love) UFO - All Or Nothing. (Small Faces)
  15. I've not been offered that since the change over, I guess they're not too keen now.
  16. It certainly is Mr Witty. But I may well have been interested had it been in its original condition.
  17. Well, ever since it's release in January 1979 I've kept coming back to this! It's just a brilliant solo.
  18. This for a long time has been regarded as an urban myth. Hendrix was supposed to have said it in an interview, after the Isle of Wight festival in 1970, even the type of interview is in question, some say it was audio, others swear blind it was a written article. The great man himself (Rory) didn't believe Jimi had said it. No one has ever been able to find the interview.
  19. Michael Schenker during the 70's definitely turned the heads of the established elite like Page and Blackmore! These days I'd say Buckethead. Forget the bucket and the mask gimmick, the lad can play anything and with great aplomb.
  20. Yeah can only agree with the above. Though I do prefer my Classic Pro's!
  21. Each to their own, been there, found the Jazz pup didn't sit well with the P at all.
  22. At least it went to a Gibson owner. IIRC he has around 6 T- birds, a couple of them being Bicentennials.
  23. If I were you I'd avertise this on the Thunderbird Bass Players group on FB. There's plenty of clowns on there who want to pretend their Epiphone's are Gibson's.
