  1. We have made a band decision to offer all of our regular gigs a single "expenses only" gig on a date to be mutually agreed to try and pay a bit forward and help support them. We aren't reliant on the money and do it for fun really but appreciate a lot of people are pro and we wouldn't undermine the payment side of things. We would expect other gigs to be at the going rate per venue. We just want to cover a bit of petrol on the night but also have a monthly storage bill to pay (hence having some control over the date - it wont necessarily be the first gig back at each venue as we want to spread it out a bit)
  2. Ah it looks a bit browner on my phone screen. I stand (optically) corrected ๐Ÿ˜Š (I had a honeyburst Sterling and it's one of my favourite finishes.....)
  3. Nigel sold his Darkglass M900 amp to me. Great Basschatter - super fast transaction and totally easy to deal with! Cheers Jon ๐Ÿ‘Œ ๐Ÿ˜Š
  4. Cheap Mesa here......not me btw..... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mesa-Subway-D800-Bass-Amp-Head-800watt-class-D-amp/114240572919?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D7674c3be71f0451aa804e0241143ea45%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D114240572919%26itm%3D114240572919%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DMesa&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A8e5e3f4b-cf17-11ea-9a5f-74dbd1802af9|parentrq%3A8a2cec761730aca4775da957ffecd650|iid%3A1
  5. You should order her a new bass as well!
  6. A singing bass player and a bagpipe solo as well ๐Ÿ˜Š
  7. Probably customer returns......oh, hang on......๐Ÿ˜‰
  8. I just bought some stuff off them too and can agree that they're very good. They have some interesting items at good prices and Alex is a great guy to deal with - he's always up for a chat and is genuinely interested. He did some research to check compatibility for my purchase and even came back with a price match unprompted. I've bought a few Hipshot bits off them in the past and they're first call for me if i need hardware now. It's good to support a small local business too. https://www.btnmusic.co.uk/
  9. Adrian could address this in 10 minutes if he wanted to.....all he has to do is suggest a couple of options and follow them through. Heโ€™s either unaware of his business going down the toilet on this website - which is probably where he gets a large amount of his UK sales from - or he doesnโ€™t have any intention of resolving the situation.
  10. I had a Berg CN212 for 3 gigs - had to sell it for vet bills - but the band preferred my pair of BB2 cabs which will be pretty close to the sound of a Super Twin. And I did as well tbh. The Berg didn't fill the room like the Barefaced stack did - the dispersion didn't seem so good. So my vote is an emphatic yes!
  11. I keep looking at it too......
  12. This 100%......

Brian bought my Magellan 800 in a deal that was smoother than a shaved and greased sealion! Highly recommended and a top guy :-)
  14. Black all day long. Subtly understated class.

  16. Just bought an amp from Kert in a shady hotel car park transaction......totally 100% guy and an easy transaction. Great comms and nice dog(s) ๐Ÿ˜Š Cheers Jon
  17. even though its fairly modern its going to be played for years......
  18. Genzler Magellan 800 SOLD New amp now arrived so I need this gone! Mint condition with official bag. Bought in January from Andertons, gigged 3 times and played a bit on headphones at home. Probably been switched on about 10 times in total and consequently it could pass for brand new. Twin channel and contour design - modern or drive channel and a hifi or vintage contour control. Aux in/phones out for silent practice. Fabulous build quality and a sound to match. Fat, warm, modern, vintage, sizzle and headroom for days. 800w into 4 or 2.67 ohms or 400w into 8 ohms. Collect from Herts/Essex, happy to drive for a bit to meet up or I will post as I have all the original packaging still. @Osiris has done a great review of the amp here Thanks for looking - pop me a message if you need more info ๐Ÿ™‚
  19. The Sire V7 has an off switch for the active preamp. You have passive pickups and a Volume, Tone, Blend arrangement if you switch the preamp off. With it switched on it adds active Bass, Mid with a sweepable frequency and a Treble control. And the tone still works as well. It will do exactly a really good passive jazz sound if that's whats required. The jazz sized neck is really amazing - rolled edges and satin finish are awesome and it is so easy to play. Tuners are fine - they had a bad rep on the version 1 but were fixed on the version 2. I'm not so keen on the bridge but it's more visually than functionally - i filed off a corner of a saddle because it was a bit sharp but otherwise it works fine. And i swapped the plastic knobs for metal ones for ยฃ15 - that makes it a bit nicer. I've had a lot of expensive name basses (Spectors, Zon, Sandbergs, Musicman, G+L USA) and this honestly is worth 3 times the ยฃ400 asking price. In fact i'm looking to buy a spare whilst they do interesting colours that i like. Re the Mexican Fender comparison - they vary a bit i think. I had a Mexican Blacktop Jazz and the quality was a bit shaky but i currently have a 50's Classic Lacquer P bass and it is really good. You would probably need to play the individual bass to see whether it's a good one or not. And for the price of that used one i would get a new one for a touch more. Have a look at Andertons who are having a sale on them..... Here's mine ๐Ÿ™‚
