1.
Yes. Many many times, and pretty much all of those times it was wedding gigs. And it near killed me until one night I looked around the room at all these people having the time of their lives, and the other guys in the band were having a great night and it finally hit me that I was the only miserable c**t in the room. I figured I could choose to be happy or choose to be miserable. Happiness won. Having said that, a few years later I did quit a wedding band because I must have spent at least the first three songs staring at the back on the singers head and saying 'You're a c**t, you're a c**t' repeatedly. The world has a way of telling you things I believe.
Ouch - been there! Reading this thread brought to mind why Brian Eno said he left Roxy Music, after he found himself onstage thinking about when he could find the time to do his laundry. I've never moved in quite those lofty circles, but it's a short leap from there to audience-hating, in my experience. You either do the gig and accept all that it entails, or sell your gear and go and do something else, for gawd's sake...

5. Graham bought my Reverend Mercalli 5FM, and was a pleasure to deal with, a real gent. Thanks Graham, and no, you can't have my van, you'll have to buy your own...
6. I sold my Stingray 5 to Marcin, and he was great to deal with, with excellent communication and fast payment.
7.
Oh I forgot to mention! There is an awesome bagel shop on Brick Lane I think it is, some one may need to correct me on this. It's open literally 24/7, I don't remember seeing locks on the door. Dad used to wake us up at 3am, "come on lets get some bagels!". I swear I saw 2 hardcore punks come in, followed by 2 armed police officers, followed by a couple of paramedics!
Yes, The Brick Lane Beigel Bake... smoked salmon & cream cheese bagels at 3am after a gig is a real tonic. The staff be a tad humourless at that time of the morning, but who wouldn't be faced with long queues of London's flotsam and jetsam at that ungodly hour? Reminds me of Wong Kei's in Wardour Street. Back in the 80's I used to go there just to be entertained by how insulting the staff were!
8.
Is this 34" or 35"?
Sorry - it's a 35" scale, I've now added this to the description.
9. My old bass! Have a bump. Roger was a pleasure to deal with and completely trustworthy, I might add...
10. Sold my DB750, and he was a pleasure to deal with as before - thanks Antony!
11. For sale/trade is my Lakland 55-64 Skyline 35" scale 5-string P-bass (formerly the Bob Glaub model). It's a Lakland Owners Group limited edition, one of only 30, it's about a year old, plays beautifully and sounds great, but I've decided I'm a jazz bass man at heart! I've only ever had it out on one gig, so it is literally as new. They call the finish 'Butterscotch', and it has a maple neck and black block markers. It came with the Nordstrand NP-5 pickup fitted by Lakland, and it sounds huge, with great clarity and detail - for a passive bass it also has a lot of output. Despite not being a US made model, the build quality and finish are excellent - I've owned USA Laklands in the past, and it makes me wonder if the fairly small differences between them and some of the Skylines really justifies charging 3 times the price. This one was assembled, checked and Plek'd in Chicago. At a shade over 9 lbs, it's light for a 5, and balances well. Sale price is £850 + shipping, and the only trades I'm really interested in are 35" 5-string twin pickup basses, preferably active (a Lakland DJ5 with a John East or an Audere preamp, perchance?). But wotcha got?? Dave Now SOLD, pending the usual....
12. Lovely. Brings back memories of King with their painted DM's and Cass Lewis of Skunk Anansie...
13. Great amp - got one myself. If I could make a suggestion, a couple of pics would go a long way towards getting a sale...
14.
Unbelievably it is bid up to £565 and still hours to go!
It went for £740... oh my good gawd Terence...

16. The more I read this listing, the better it gets... "It would be better if this guitar was collected in person but if its collected by courier ye can have the pleasure in arranging this yourself with the risk being yours..." I think we be dealin' with pirates here, Jim lad! Aaaarr! The whole description sounds a lot funnier if you read it in the style of Blackbeard... "PROFFESIONALLY SET-UP..." Is the seller referring to whoever is unfortunate enough to buy it?
