1. Wahay! I'm amazed it hung around so long. It deserves to be hanging around someone's knees having 'Lights Out' played on it. Very loudly.
2.
I don't want to keep bumping this thread, but I took a look at the Sadowsky site...it's OK, but again, product-wise, the models are just rehashed/overpriced Jazz/Precision basses. For something a little more compelling, look at the Reverend site; http://www.reverendg...nd/guitars.html. The basses are really very happening. The black set-neck Thundergun made me go a little wobbly. Stick a chrome armrest kit on that...beautiful. P
Good god, those Reverend basses are something else - I want a Mercalli 5! The metallic blue would set off my black sparkle DJ5 nicely...
3. I very nearly bought this bass from Nick when he first had it up for sale a few years ago, and I can attest to its light weight. If only it had a maple board! Best of luck with the sale.
4. I just sold an Aguilar GS412 cab to beastie, and a nicer chap you couldn't wish to meet. Thanks Gary!
5. Bought a rather lovely 'Little Buddy' pedal steel from Mark, and he could not have done more in terms of communication, information and attention to detail. The packaging was excellent too. Thanks Mark! Now I just have to learn to play the thing....
6. Hmm. As for playing it naked, I'm sure it would chaff in the worst places. Also, I think a maple neck would have been more fitting - the rosewood would clash with my pink lamé body stocking...
7.
Just one Cornetto?
Sorry - obscure British TV advert reference. The melody from 'It's Now Or Never' was used on an advert for an ice cream called Cornetto with the words 'Just one Cornetto, give it to me, delicious ice cream, from Italy...' You probably have to be over 40 to remember it too...
8.
Same song - Who Did You Think I Was - from the Pino POV Dig the Grolsch bottle-washer straplocks.
Phenomenal. I've met Pino a couple of times over the years, he's physically and musically a giant, but a real gent with it. He's doesn't take any sh*t, though - there's the old story that The Stones asked him to have a meeting after Bill Wyman left, where he was effectively 'auditioned', and then turned down. He promptly sent them an invoice...
9.
Thank you mate. I'm going to let this bass available only for a few days, so it's now or never (my love won't wait)
...better known in this country as "Just one Cornetto"... I have an old 1980 Ibanez Roadster that was a forerunner of this design - not as pretty as the Musician, tho! Best of luck with the sale.
10.
beast of a cab!
It certainly is, like a scaled-down 8x10, but with more snarl...
11. Removed from a project bass I bought recently, and replaced with an ABM, so surplus to requirements. Not pristine, but in very good condition. Specs can be found at http://gitarrenwisse...40812951dXY4e5d under the 'Varianten' tab. [s]£50[/s] £40 posted within the UK. NOW SOLD, PENDING THE USUAL....
12.
With due respect...difference of opinion. To me this information being public isn't an issue. If I sold one of my Wals, I'd be happy to share. To me it's like the sale of real estate or any item of value...a current sale sets a comparable. Good to what's happening in the market. Even if this information is made public, each transaction will still result in whatever the parites involved can negotiate. Even asking prices tend to set what's going-on in the market for like items...why not have the market set by the "sold" prices, which are reality, instead of the "asking" prices which can or can't be a "real" gauge of value.
It was a long, drawn-out negotiation, but in the end we settled on a straight swap for £14.11 and a picture of the Queen. They're all the rage in Tehran, y'know...
13. Aah, takes me back to seeing UFO live in 1977.... Pete Way even commented recently that he thought the Epiphone Thunderbirds sound fatter than the original Gibsons! Good luck with the sale.
14. The bass has now been sold, pending the usual. Many thanks for all the interest that's been shown.
