1. Actually, I think this might be a bit of a bargain. My missus went to a spa for a full professional setup, with deep body cleansing, body polish and carnauba wax, neck deep clean, full electronics check, truss-rod and action and intonation adjustment, and it cost a LOT more than £45...
2.
"I've been playing 19mm spacing 35" scale basses for too long, and my arthritic gorilla mitts just can't seem to go back" There you go :-)
I couldn't have put it better myself. Oh, hang on...
3.
Now I like Black, black, black and even more black, that looks the Biz.
And it could be yours for a mere trifle, Brian! Go on, treat yourself
4.
Great looking bass - but 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs), are you sure? That would be the lightest Stingray (let alone `Stingray 5!) I've ever heard of...
Sorry, you're quite right - I can't add. Or subtract. I did the 'weigh myself with it and without it and take away' thing on my digital bathroom scales and it's actually 4.3kg. Apologies. Still not bad though!
5.
Oh my oh my. That is stunning and I can't believe you're selling it. What is the string spacing by the way? I have a feeling the weight of it may be a deciding factor for me though.
Ah, you don't get off that easily, I'm afraid... it's a very manageable 4.3kg. The string spacing is 17.5mm. Interested? Come for a try out.
6. For sale is a brand new Musicman Stingray 5 'Neck-Through' bass in gloss black, matching finished neck and headstock. It weighs 4.3kg. The accompanying pictures were supplied by the US dealer (Sweetwater) before the bass was shipped to me, and are of the actual bass for sale. The only difference is I've taken the plastic film off the scratchplate. It comes complete with its fitted MM hard case, still in the shipping carton, and it's never been gigged, only taken out of the house once to do a promo video. Although I should have known this by now, I've been playing 19mm spacing 35" scale basses for too long, and my arthritic gorilla mitts just can't seem to go back, so save yourself a wad and a four-month wait. You're welcome to come and try it out, I'm 10 mins from junction 10 of the M25. NOW SOLD
7. Rick Astley. Saw him at a festival last year - great voice, excellent stage presence, very funny, and a cracking backing band to boot. Thoroughly enjoyed it, and I really didn't expect to....
8.
To be honest, if you are wired, taking an IEM feed up alongside your bass lead, is always going to give you a better performance than a radio pack, assuming that is, that you don't need to run around. Like anything, your IEM feed is only as good as what you put in to transmit to your ears...
Run around? At my age?? I just like the idea of it I think - in practice I wouldn't stray 10 feet from my rig! And the cable's 20 feet, so no biggie, then...
9.
Congratulations on squeezing that one in...
There's another gag in there about knocking one out, but I'm too polite to make it.
10.
Theres a number of reasons I can see why - IEMs haven't hit the mainstream on the digital front, mainly due to latency. Latency is not as important on an instrument -but very important when being piped directly into your ear. Typically, the trend for consumer products would be UHF for your IEMs and digital (typically 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz) for your instrument. - different bits of the spectrum are not universally available around the globe... and for example, if you were to make the all in one pack a consumer product that fits in channel 70 for example, that would only give you a maximum (if that) of 4 broadcast channels. So really, you can only legally kit out 2 members of your band. Granted you could get into other channels within the radio spectrum... but if you are using licensed spectrum, then a lot of users would want the extended features found in the existing IEM and mic systems. - IEM transmitters and receivers don't like to be housed next to each other. Transmitters and receivers should be worn on opposite side of the body. Typically IEM systems and mic systems are located on opposite sides of the stage.
Thanks for a very comprehensive explanation! I've already got one of OBBM's double-feed cables, which works very well, but I can dream, can't I?
11. I know this product probably doesn't exist, but does anyone manufacture a wireless setup that sends two separate signals - guitar/bass to the amp, and in-ear from the receiver back to the same belt pack, all in one?
12.
And his user name is...
Perhaps his name is Lewis, and he was born in Clapham... out on the windy common, that night he's not forgotten...
13. Precious few mentions of 'Black Sea'... an album I can listen to endlessly. Apple Venus, Wasp Star, Drums & Wires, Go 2 are all brilliant as well. English Settlement doesn't do it for me however, apart from the wonderful 'Senses Working Overtime'. Nonsuch is worth it for 'The Disappointed' on its own, as is Skylarking for 'Earn Enough For Us'. If I feel a little uninspired, I just have to listen to the bass line on "I'd Like That' from Apple Venus to perk myself up. The man's a genius.
14. It should be - it's in the picture! Mind you, the guitar has no 'E' string, so perhaps it's a diversion tactic...
15.
Come now... its fine... nobody here will speak ill of you.... we understand (thanks ) TIM for a BUMP
Oh, plenty already do, believe me... best not to give them any more ammunition...
16. What a beast! I bet it weighs a ton, but it's still a great looking bass...
17. Not wild about the finish personally, but a good price as it retails at about £2200... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ns-Designs-Radius-Cr5-5-String-Bass-Guitar/131737904735
18. Great basses. GLWTS.
19. That looks absolutely cracking, but I can't..... no, sorry, I really can't... GLWTS!
20.
yep, i take a spare everything and insist the misses follows me to the gig in her car.....just in case;0)
Let's hope she doesn't spot the 'spare missus' at the gig...
21. It shot up to £2800 last night... then back down to £1600 today! Perhaps the bidders have been reading this thread...
22. More kebab updates please! Always makes me smile...
23. I don't think it'll stay at that price for long... http://www.ebay.co.u...s-/151999683823
24. These days you are obliged to include PayPal as a method of payment in the listing, but there's nothing to stop you putting in your description of the item that it's cash on collection. I've bought and sold many times on eBay (feedback of nearly 1000 transactions) and it's very rare for things to go wrong - most people are honest.
25.
did it damage the floor at all? I've never heard anything negative said about them, except maybe for their weight
Yup, made a big dent (in the floor)! They are weighty, but therein lies their strength...
