  1. Who'd want to hang that on their wall? Besides anything else, I expect it smells awful.
  2. That is quite cool, but I'd imagine it only really means something to you, because you know when and where it comes from. Selling anything like that involves the murky world of proof of provenance. This chap might go on to become the next Jimi Hendix, but somehow I doubt it!
  3. ...or should that be whom?? Never heard of him, and Google produced nothing either. Must be for a bet with a mate. He is up-and-coming, though. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dunlop-Tortex-Used-In-Sessions-By-Scott-Dexter/113196608884
  4. Don't be a plonker all your life, Rodders... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RELIANT-ROBIN-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-3-STRINGS-3-WHEELS-GREAT-ONE-OFF/222985515626
  5. Nice. And I play right handed! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wal-Custom-MK1-Bass-Guitar-1981-4-String-Rare-Left-Hand/12303742280
  6. Only the other day I was thinking "you just don't see Steinbergers for sale any more." I've had a few of these over the years, this one's a beauty. Wish I had the cash! GLWTS.
  7. Lovely playing Stefan! GLWTS. Dave
  8. Ah, yes... you spotted my deliberate mistake. Thank you for your attentiveness! 🙄
  9. Still for sale, price further reduced, and shipping now offered...
  10. That's a lovely grain in the body. What's the year of manufacture, the weight, and the location of the bass please?
  11. Not on this three-knob version, but there's a five-knob Uni-Pre that has.
  12. Just for the avoidance of doubt, I would like to clarify that the cabs Conan refers to are NOT the ones for sale on this thread - they have definitely not been "around the block", in fact you can see from the photos that they're in very nice condition indeed... I suppose the fact that another pair had that kind of longevity is a plus... 😉
  13. I remember trying a very early version of one of these in Andy's Guitar Workshop in Newcastle in late 81' / early '82. It was gorgeous and weird and the neck seemed to go on for ever. Beautiful workmanship.
  14. It's possible - they're 23kg each, and most couriers have a 30kg limit, so they'd have to be sent separately. PM me with your postcode and I can get you a quote.
  15. It might be more accurate to simply say if your vehicle's diesel of any age, you need to sell it or cough up. Any petrol Transits out there??
  16. Whilst I support the action, it seems a bit off the mark - I have a two-year-old Fort Transit E-Tech. It failed.
  17. I had the fretless version of this bass back in 80/81, an it was fantastic - great build quality, and masses of tonal variety. It was a little weighty though, IIRC. Around the same time it was being used by Sting and Colin Moulding of XTC (fretless in both cases).
  18. I keep coming back to this! Someone buy it, for gawd's sake! 😩
  19. I notice the example Bass Direct have for sale doesn't have through-body stringing like yours does. Was that an optional extra?
  20. Delano pickups, and a John East DJ Retro preamp. Although it didn't really need it, I had a separate battery battery compartment routed into the back of the bass. The John East preamp is brilliant, and no modification is required - it just drops straight in.
  21. Fantastic. What's the weight please, and whereabouts in Ireland is it?
  22. For sale is my 2015 Lakland USA 55-Dual J 5-string in tobacco burst. I bought it on here a few months ago (the original sale listing link is at the bottom of this post) and added a John East Uni-Pre, but the passive pots and knobs are included in the sale, as is the Lakland lined case shown in the pictures. It's in really nice condition, with only a couple of small, barely visible dinks on the body, and a chip in the finish at the edge of the control cavity, as shown in the pictures. The neck is completely unmarked. It's light, resonant, balances beautifully, and sounds fabulous. The only reason I'm selling is I already have a DJ5 (with quite a few modifications, admittedly) and I can't justify keeping both, so the more valuable of the two is going. TRADE NOW PENDING Specs: Lakland Vintage Single coil pickups. 35'' scale, 19mm spacing at the bridge. Alder body, rosewood fingerboard. 1.79'' (45.3mm) nut width. 3.88 kg (8.56 lbs).
  23. Interesting! What is it?
  24. From what I can see, the main differences are that the HDN210 has neodymium instead of standard magnets, the frequency response is less than the HS210 (12khz instead of 15khz with the HS), the cabs are tolex as opposed to carpet covered, they do weight about 20lbs less, but cost about £1000 each.
