  1. Zoom 606 g**tar effects pedal. Bought on a whim a few years ago, great fun, but wasted on a luddite like me. Battery or mains, adapter not included. Never left the house, so excellent condition. SOLD
  2. Thanks Alexis! 🙂
  3. A fairly recent acquisition...
  4. It's very much down to personal taste, but I find the Aguilars with the Pope pre sound more modern and aggressive - brighter with more mid, and have noticeably more 'bite' than the Bartolini setup. The Aguilars and the Pope were in it when I bought the bass a few years ago, so the only comparison I can make is with the other 55-94 I'm selling, which is smoother and more polite in tone, although obviously it's a different bass, which could also be a factor. If you're anywhere near Woking in Surrey you're welcome to come and try both out. PM me if you want to arrange a visit.
  5. WITHDRAWN
  6. OK, thanks for that. I assume the birdseye board must've been a special order.
  7. WITHDRAWN Up for sale is my 55-94 - built in 2006. The 55-94s with a scratchplate and solid colours were usually referred to as 'standard' or 'classic' as opposed to 'deluxe' models, but this one has a swamp ash body with a translucent finish and a beautifully figured birdseye fingerboard, so the assumption is it was a special order. It's a really lovely bass, with the original Bartolini pickups and 3-band preamp. I got it in a trade a few months ago, but as I already have a 55-94 Deluxe, I really can't justify keeping both. It's been played, but it's in very good condition, the only marks being a few small dings in the finish along the top edge of the body which I've tried to show in the pictures, and a few nibbles on the tip of the headstock. The frets are in excellent shape, it's nice and light for a 5 at just over 4 kilos on my bathroom scales, and sits beautifully on a strap or the knee. I put on the chrome knobs, but the original rubberised ones are also included. WITHDRAWN
  8. Warwick Rockcase in very good condition (a few small marks on the lid). £20, collection only from GU23 (just off the A3 outside Woking) NOW SOLD
  9. NOW SOLD For sale is my Cort GB75 JH 5-string, in trans black. I bought it a couple of months ago after reading several very positive reviews, which all proved to be right. It's absolutely as new, never been gigged, or even left the house, and comes with the added extra of a 5-knob John East Uni-Pre, which I fitted as the original preamp was a bit noisy and bland. (More about the John East here: https://www.east-uk.com/index.php/bass/uni-pre-4k-28.html) It's 35" scale with 19mm string spacing at the bridge. It's light at 4.3kg, and sits well on the knee or a strap. Bright and resonant, with a slim, fast neck. Now, what was already a very good bass for the money is really excellent. I'm only selling because I got another Lakland shortly after buying this, and I can't really justify keeping both. Bass Direct are selling these for £545, so I'm basically giving away the John East (which cost £217.50) for free. UK shipping is also included in the price. Sorry, but I'm not looking for any trades. Here's one of the reviews: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2epfeHo2cs
  10. The trouble with the people who align themselves (and I include myself in this) with music rock music is if they were there when it happened, they are now way too old to be the target audience for grime, drill, L Devine, or anything else of the moment. None of what's current now can be the soundtrack to growing up, because we're all grown up. I've never been a particular fan of The Smiths, but I think Morrissey got it right when he sang "It says nothing to me about my life." But then I'm old, I'll be dead soon enough, and the wheels will keep on turning... Have a great weekend folks! 🙂
  11. Up for sale is my Washburn Status S1000 in near mint condition! I bought it from a local guy who had kept it under his bed for years and hadn't even done a gig with it, and it shows. Slight finger swirl under the strings, otherwise pretty much as new. I play 5's most of the time, and I haven't even taken it out of the house myself, so I thought I would see if anyone fancies it. Can use either double ball end or regular strings. Weight on my bathroom scales is 3.9kg (although being headless, it sits so the shoulder so well it feels much lighter). String spacing 18mm at the bridge, 11mm at the zero fret. Complete with original fitted hard case. Due to the excellent condition, the price is £650 firm plus shipping. Can be seen / collected near Woking in Surrey. Sorry, I'm not looking for any trades. NOW SOLD PENDING THE USUAL.
  12. I was gigging on Saturday, so I finally got around to searching for Madonna's performance on YouTube. Spot the difference... The 'original': and Madonna's Vevo YouTube channel version:
  13. It's listed as 'For parts or not working'. "Woven carbon graphite and selected exotic woods are combined to create a bass which sounds even better than it looks. It has a wide, even frequency response with huge dynamics and sustain." Perhaps after you spend another grand on a full refurb. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Status-S2-Classic-Trace-Elliot-Custom-Electric-Bass-Guitar/293040183537
  14. I've owned a few of these over the years, including a very rare 'wide 5', and there's really nothing quite like them if you can get over the look and the lack of conventional body. Huge sound, fantastic clarity, endless sustain, and no dead spots anywhere. For me, the wooden copies seem lifeless in comparison. This one looks like it's been damaged on the bottom wings though. Still tempting, but the ultra-narrow string spacing would flummox my gorilla mitts...
  15. Sorry, yes, it has now been sold.
  16. Hee hee! Go on, you know you want to, Brian...
  17. I think you're yanking our collective chains about the surname though, Mr Devlar...
  18. Yup. Knew that. So she really should know better! :-)
  19. At the risk of offending very few people, oh dear... Even my wife, whom I love dearly, but isn't the most musical person in the world, looked up from her laptop and said "Blimey, that was awful - and you can tell they really hate each other". I'm sure a tour with a nice fat cheque at the end of it has helped them get over their musical differences.
  20. NOW SOLD. For sale is my USA Lakland 55-94 Deluxe in Trans White, with an ebony fingerboard, which is a rare option. Built in 2002, with the original Bartolini pickups and 3-band Bartolini preamp, and complete with a Lakland lined hardcase. It's been played quite a bit, so it's not pristine and has a few dinks here and there which I've tried to show in the photographs, but they're nothing serious. At only 3.8kg it's light for a 5, but still balances really well. 35" scale, with Lakland's legendary B string, and excellent consistency across the neck. This is a lovely example of the model, and it pains me to sell it, but don't feel too sorry for me - I've got another one! Collection preferred, but I will ship insured at the buyer's cost. Sorry, but I'm not looking for any trades.
  21. Indeed Brian, can I tempt you?!? 🙂
  22. For sale is my EBS Neo 210 cab. Really light, and great power, tone and clarity from such a small package! As the name suggests, neodymium drivers, and adjustable horn. Excellent condition, only very minor scuffing on a few of the corners. NOW SOLD
  23. For sale is my Thunderfunk TFB-750A head, a fabulous amp with bags of tone, hand made in the US with high grade components. Incredibly flexible semiparametric EQ, preamp switchable between solid state / valve, and a huge amount of power, running right down to a 2 ohm load. In excellent condition, as you can see from the pics. It’s just been fully serviced, and had a small issue with one of the pots fixed, (hence the ‘Job No.’ sticker) and is in full working order. I bought it on here last year, and despite its quality and tone, I really don't need a head this powerful. I'm downsizing in general, so I'll be putting a few other things up on here shortly. Also included is a 2-U Gator ABS case to protect it on its travels. NOW SOLD
  24. NOW SOLD. For sale is my Eich T-1000 head, light, compact, great tonal flexibility, hugely powerful, and capable of running down to 2 ohms. I bought it new from Bass Direct about 18 months ago, but it's been used very little, and when it has been out of the house it's been racked in a flight case, so as you'll see from the pictures it's in pretty much as-new condition. Comes boxed, complete with manual, non-slip mat etc, and rack ears. I'm only selling because I don't really need something this powerful, and I'm downsizing in general - I've got a Thunderfunk head up for sale as well. Here are some links to the specs: https://www.eich-amps.com/t-1000 http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Eich_t_1000_amplifier.html
