3. Hmm fairly intrested, what i totally want is the 3015LF out of this though!
 4. Do you really need to go that low? most of what you hear is the second harmonic
 5.
Now the real question is... if you had a spare 2.5k lying around, would you get this, or get a Matamp GT200 and spend the rest on other fun items?
i'd go for that, if bb king says its the best amp hes used it's gotta be special
 6.
He has feedback of (4). He has sold two (2) items. Both in 2007. Now he's selling something special. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Custom-Made-Hugh-Manson-5-String-Bass-/150679044641?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item23152bc221 Bidding starts at £1250 ... get in there.
don't see whats wrong with using ebay to sell things?
 7. i'm up in sheffield if you get stuck.
 8. rick + superbass = epic mid forward distortion. You might wanna check out some other gear if you wanna get deep sounds
 9. get another cab if you're running outta head room
 10.
It built up a grand suspense to a grand looking cab! Just a (possibly naive) thought, how would you mic a cab like this? Would you need three mics and three different mics for the different types of driver? CM
i'd stick an Re-20 about 2' away.maybe more pointing toward the upper 12. That should capture all the speakers fairly well and get an accurate representation of what you're hearing. Guess if you're only sharing the stage with a drummer bleed wouldn't be a huge issue either! i'd definatly take a di to aswell though.
 11.
The micro synth sounds cool. But it sounds like it decays too quickly for me. The only problem with blending my clean sound is that my clean sound isn't very bassy. What I could do is blend the clean sound with added EQ... but still, haven't pedal to do it all might be nice...
Put in a stereo jack run your neck pick up clean and the bridge distorted ;D
 12. sounds like you want a harmonic perculator or one of its clones. You're sounding a bit steve albini. Personally though for more low end i'd look into splitting your signal and running another amp, can never hurt in a two piece
 13.
What makes you say that m8
he only had 3 heads through the years and none of them had the arsehole label on the front aparently. Price is still good though
 14. so tempted by this, although the more research i do the less likely it seems lemmy used this
 15. the jack in the middle was for a reverb footswitch or something but it's currently not connected to anything
 16.
Well, that's the tricky part. It sounds awesome to my ears, but I'm not sure when it last got revalved (if ever) and i'm wondering if it'd sound even MORE awesome if it got revalved! Truckstop
if it sounds great why mess with it? don't think you'd be very chuffed with it if the valves were on the way out, it'd not be very loud and probably start blowing fuses.
 17.
Cheers, thanks for the info. I don't think anything's wrong with it, but because I've only had it for a couple of months, I don't know if it sounded 'better' a year or two ago if you know what I mean. Would you recommend getting it to a tech to make sure everything's hunky dory? It's from the 70's (no indication of date inside casing etc) and is made by an italian firm called Gem. The model is a Saturn Bass 50 and I simply cannot find any information on it anywhere! I don't know how well it's been maintained and I can't even see what valves it has, there's no markings or anything. Truckstop
Do the valves not have any markings on them themselves? guessing they're gonna be EL34's in the power amp and ecc83s in the pre. Basically you'll know when you'll need new valves because it'll start sounding a bit pants
