2. bump, someone buy this i'm currently planning a stereo doom rig in my head and i really shouldn't be
 3. preamp valves last forever unless something goes wrong. power amp valves can also last forever but generally newer ones will tend to last 2 or 3 years of heavy abuse
 4. Right this is basically a 150watt a side valve power amp made by mesa around 1982(proper vintage now) It sounds great and has had a full service, the valves are all mesa branded 6l6/6ca7 and have quite a bit of life left in them. i want to keep this as it sounds awesome but i can't due to needing money and not needing more doom potential. looking for around £450 OBO inc postage in uk The condition is good cosmetically minus the rack rash which is fairly standard with these.

 6.
Hope so mate. With 6 EL34's a full set isnt cheap. To be honest i did open it up briefly when i got it and by the looks of it that was the first time it was ever opened. A good 40 years (ish) worth of dust n grime. So at the very least a service is needed. Just emailed dave Lund, has very good recommendations on here and he is very local. Fingers crossed its something simple.
+1 on giving it a good clean. does it sound like frying eggs?
 7.
Ah well I'm sure I'll acquire one, one way or another
haha good luck with that quest! think olis 300 might be a one off.
 8.
I know it won't be one, but how awesome would a GT200 pre with a light class D power section be?
would be fully gay. kt88's add so much awesomeness to the sound
 9. The HH amps i've used have always sounded pretty nice. The PA i have has one of the nicest reverbs i've heard, almost as good as my space echo ;D
 10.
What sort of figures should I be seeing on the transformers?
under 1k, basically though if you turn it on and theres voltages it'll more than likely be okay
 11.
Clening is done. The stuff involving a meter I haven't done, don't really know what I'm up to with it. how would I check the transformer for shorts? All the electrolytics have been replaced. Sop fire it up without valves in and stick the meter in the valve bases, what voltages am I looking for in there, on what pin numbers (actually caught myself there, then realised that is valid use of the phrase 'pin number').
http://tdsl.duncanamps.com/show.php?des=EL34 should have the HT on pin 3 - about 530 - 540V without valves in and a little less on pin 4 3.3v AC on pins 2 and 7 bias will be negative voltage on top end of that upside down cap, follow it along to bias pots etc. to check transformers just measure resistance across the windings etc.
 12. fair, you done all your check ups before you fire it up? clean all the sockets (inside and on top to prevent arking) checked all caps to make sure they're not obviously leaking check to make sure theres no shorts on the ht check transformers for shorts give all the pots a spray etc. Then fire it up WITHOUT any valves, check that ht is on all the proper pins and that there isn't any anywhere it shouldn't be ie. tone stacks / grids etc. Check to make sure bias voltage is there. if all thats okay give it a blast with valves in and start the proper troubleshooting ;>
 13.
On my shuker I cuttently have a gotoh bridge fitted. I've been concidering buying a badass upgrade. Would it be worth it?
wouldn't say the badass was worth the extra cash over the gotoh, unless you were thinking of buying mine then ofc it'd be worth every penny ;p
 14. wierd guy wants you to pick up but only wants paying via paypal
 15.
I wanna say around 900 but might be 750 I can't recall since they are essentially custom order also depends which version you go for. Tbh it's the only Matamp cab that hasn't slated me, don't get me wrong I nearly bought 2 until I tried the first 8x10 and ported 4x10. I'd ring Jeff for a quote since I'm half guessing
mine was 450 ;<
 16.
See that's more like it! Thanks! Why are they so cheap if they contain neos?! Do they still make a 1x12?
neos aren't doom
 17.
It works quite well... on a well set up bass. And even if you dig in they don't fly off the saddle. I'd only really file them if you had height adjustment issues or extremely low tension strings. umph : I see you've been on here a few times since I replied to your PM. Why no reply to me yet?
have replied now ;o NECK SOLD TO OU7SHINED
 18.
my vote goes to michael shuman's gibson ripper, also great to see mani from primal scream rocking it on an epi. the guy from the eels had the best looking p-bass imo
+1 they're just to cool
