    Our second gig at an amazing venue, a former Methodist meeting house sitting pretty in the midst of a shopping centre that grew up around it! It’s difficult, as we usually play free admission venues. But the £8 is split between us and the venue. Beer is club prices and is delivered direct to the pew. Starts 7.30 and all over by 9.30 so not a late Friday night at all. We - Otis Jay Blues Band - got 49 paying customers last time. You could be the difference🙏

    Benefit for Amnesty international in Bournemouth with the Otis Jay Blues Band. Flea through Barefaced One10 and Elf. We had a dep drummer and guitarist - the mighty Robert Ahwai, who played for 30 years with Chris Rea and replaced Jeff Beck in the Jeff Beck Group (Hummingbird). He had been at college with our singer 50 years ago and, though they’d lost contact since, came down to do the gig gratis - good bloke and a fine player. Turned out our drummer had seen Rob playing at Ronnie Scott’s in the 70s with Gonzales … small world!

    This belonged to the late @yorks5stringer and is being sold on behalf of his family. I will add details as I find them. It includes the case pictured, as well as the newer gig bag. Keith: There's a bit of a story to that. I bought it with 2 humbuckers installed (and a load of other player mods that were non- standard) as you can see below. I returned it to stock but as it had had a big hole routed out in front of the bridge for the pickup, it was filled with wood, and primed. I then did a light couple of coats of aged vintage white nitro which was a bit more yellow than the original white ( which was also nitro so must have been a respray too.) Found this which shows the original condition.

    New hardback biography of the late great Gary Moore. With 464 pages and illustrated, this is the last word on the legend. Author Power has written about Beck and Page, among others, and has not only researched well but keeps the story bubbling - White Knuckles pulls no punches! Not in bookshops till next week. Retails at £25, yours for only £12 plus postage. Be quick!

    Played a mini pub festival in Barton on Sea, Hampshire. Country-themed, hence the hay bales, but we blagged ourselves in as blues/Americana. Forgot my Stetson but went walkabout with my wireless so it would probably have blown/fallen off! Elf and two Barefaced One10s more than adequate… I bring the second out once a year! It’s possibly the only time I have ever had a view of the Isle of Wight from the stage. (Pic taken while setting up). What could be better? Oh, and our dep drummer breezed it. Happy days!
