1. The loophole has been patched. I can't find any settings behind the scenes that control whether particular user groups (members, admins etc) can access the picture uploader either. So now I'm wondering whether it might be something to do with the patch by Invision...?

Cookie Law

Thanks Northstreet, we take privacy concerns and the DPA very seriously. As far as I'm aware (and I'm not the technical expert here) the only cookies the forum uses are mostly to make the site more convenient to use. For example, remembering login information for when the site is accessed in the future. We can make some adjustments to the registration process and issue a bulk email for existing members. It's not very clear how listing the cookies used by the site is going to help someone understand how their privacy is being managed though...
3. Welcome to both female players! You're in good company. Maybe we should hold a bassbash in Cardiff soon so people have a way to meet up?
A massive thank you to the Admin guys here on BC. Well done chaps!
To bfirsh, the rest of us are just mouth pieces.
5. Hi Garey I noticed some interesting developments on Talkbass. http://www.talkbass....-2012-a-882236/ We appreciate that the US is a huge market for Warwick. Its interesting that a US portal is being used to access European markets. Happy to discuss offline.
6. Sad news indeed I Feel Love is one tune I've been slightly obsessed with technically ever since getting into synthbass.

...the vulnerability has been patched and the hackers left a second piece of backdoor code behind them, which is what resulted in the admin account being registered yesterday. Ben has now stayed up VERY late and disinfected the forum, so fingers crossed there are no other surprises! Thanks all for your patience and understanding.
9. I'm still waiting for confirmation but I expect picture uploading has been deactivated temporarily because of the security flaw in the Invision software that allows hackers to upload malicious code instead of images. Updates were made on the Basschat FB page, (which is sort of an emergency assembly area in the event that the site has to be "evacuated".) 10. Bfirsh (phatmonkey) has been notified. The site may be taken off line for a period of time for investigation.
11. We noticed it too. He's now suspended but appears there maybe an exploit in the Invision software associated with uploading profile pics. We contacted invision and they're looking into it.
12. Hmmm. Cloudflare is supposed to take care of this...
13. Haven't learned but have played a few - magical sound!
14. Great to see his action at a low height
15. Who ever you find, get him to show you how to do it. For the price of a fretfile, abrasive block and a steel edge you could be set for life.
16. Tried the authentication route and made as much progress with AC/DC. There's more than 5 floating about I think, have been in contact with at least 4 owners of similar instruments. Feel free to use the original pics - am amazed at the quote from Alex though.
17.
I've used other free antivirus software but the Microsoft one is excellent, although it occasionally hogs the system when you open My Documents. Like Ped, I've experienced AVG missing viruses.
Ped?! AVG seems to have problems detecting the original infecting file so I had to use hijack this to manually identify the file based on other criteria and remove it. Typically it's a file that looks out of place in the system32 or system folder.
I've also tried a number of firewalls including Zonealarm, which in one of its incarnations forced me to reinstall the operating system!. The best one, in my opinion, because it's very easy to use, has virtually no overhead, and is very reliable, is the Ashampoo firewall. Nobody has ever heard of it but it's fantastic. Trust me. Vorsprung and all that. Just my two penn'orth. (I earn a living on my PC).
Thanks for that, heard about it but never tried it. 18. We've had some great feedback to the bulk email to members about protecting your computers while online. Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to reply. Microsoft also offer Security Essentials for free - download from here: http://windows.micro...rity-essentials I've personally had issues with AVG not detecting trojans and found Norton to be deeply invasive, so ended up going with Kaspersky in on my laptop, which is a great application. I use Clamwin on the desktop PC but maybe there are other alternatives out there too. I'd be grateful if the mac owners could post their advice re: sophos and other apps they're aware of for mac as there was some great advice in some of the responses.
19. I'm kind of the same way. Main bass cost six hundred quid but my other basses vary between 1800 and 6000 quid in value.
20. Hell yes - had this on my gas list for a while. If the 2x10s aren't too engineered you should expect a lot of bark out of that speaker combination and not too much muddiness.
21. I set to instant...I feel so much more popular when I see 40 emails waiting for me in my inbox.
22. Have a sympathetic admin bump
23. Cut me own froat. Are you in a hurry to sell?
24. Jeez, someone buy this...outstanding value for money!! These basses are so underrated for music that ain't metal or rock. I'd be all over this if I didn't have house renovations to pay for.
