1. He is His book of Chic transcriptions is fantastic BTW.
2. I have a Gumfert and Stodge bass banjo from around 1645. Their workshops were located in the settlement of Pilley in the New Forest where supplies of oak, sycamore, ash and horse glue were plentiful. Once the instruments were constructed, Mr Gumfert was well known for getting down on those bad boys at local fairs and taverns to the great amusment of local villagers who were just expecting music. The instrument is heavily gigged as you might expect but retains its original varnish finish. Of note is particular wear around the tip of the headstock where the varnish has been rubbed away. Stickers from around 1830 have also been carefully removed by a qualified instrument restorer at Grabbit and Funk Ltd. Otherwise all works perfectly.

Badge whore

I think a badge snob is someone who would buy an inferior instrument because of the brand. I have some nice label-snob basses but I bought them because their resale value is generally better than those without the brand. My main bass is still only worth £600.
7. G'day
8.

"Knowing me knowing you...ahaaaa...mm mmmm"
9.
Gregg was David Lee Roth's drummer from 86-91 and is currently Spinal Tap's first choice.
I'd be taking a life insurance policy out on him then.
10. Marcus used that Fodera on stage with Miles Davis IIRC Looks like he's keeping the Status 2000 and Valley Arts MB4 then...
11. I already spoke to him about it last week and mentioned I thought the bass was a beater. He said he'd change the listing or remove it.
12.
Wham - club Tropicana. Such a well known tune, and its got a slap bass solo as an intro, and some lovely little slap fills thrown in.
Have you heard the bass solo...yes BASS SOLO, on the extended version of I'm Your Man? It's a bit tasty. https://www.youtube....h?v=8P4L2eZ-t_o Skip to 4:30. And...in a futile attempt to stay on topic... ...NO SLAP BASS AT ALL.
13. These basses are what I think modern Fenders should be. If I didn't have the Spector, I'd have one of these and maybe install some more versatile electronics. Some nice growly sounds can be hand, so I understand?
14. Ah, yes your'e right, I did.

16. Good poster design, and pretty much any form of visual communication, relies on an understanding of how we interpret information visually and what attracts our eyes first. Here are some basic principles (all of which can be broken by the experienced designer) The western eye reads left to right and top to bottom. Its attracted to areas of high contrast first and easier to read things (bigger letters, outlines or whatever). The layout doesn't have to be symmetrical but its important to ensure that its balanced. I can help with how to acheive that if you get that far. The information usually needs to be presented in the form of a heirarchy so figure out what is most important to someone who has never seen the poster before. One technique I use is to squint and see what I can still read. Another is to pin up the design and walk past it to see what I can make sense of first. If I have a lot of space and few elements I sometimes use the golden square which is to divide the page into equal thirds, from top to bottom and from left to right, and locate the most important element so that its touching two perpendicular axes. The other elements can then be arranged around them in ever decreasing order of importance.
17. My old band had these. We had them repaired under guarantee...twice...by Wembley Loudspeakers because of over heating issues. And they were ready to deny there was an issue until we publicised it.
18. 'Owz about 'edge'og stew an' a bottle of meths in a brown bag, that we can all pass 'round? Dress code: Patched up army surplus and fingerless gloves, with silly hat, hawaiian shirt or football socks.
19. It couldn't be a real one unfortunately, it would be a potential fire hazard and produce carbon monoxide.
20.
I'm so going to be there Would be absolutely awesome if we could do the Basschat Meeting Corner all over again. I'm happy to (wo)man the corner again next year if we find a space.
If we start saving now, I'd hope we might be able to stretch to a stall somewhere quiet. In an ideal world it would be hilarious to show up with a Gippo caravan like we have on the Facebook page and have a fake campfire for people to sit around.
