Reasons to acquire said article begin chattering in the brain. Justifications for acquire said article begin to form. Said article is elevated from 'Desirable' to 'Must Have' status Previously satisfactory equipment becomes unsatisfactory. Rabid obsession with said article developes. New article is acquired. I'm happy with what I have. Rinse and repeat.

I love my compressor because it has an LED on which changes from green to red when I play a bit harder and it gives me something to look and entertain me whilst playing Mustang Sally. It has kept me sane (almost).

Oh right, I'm with you now. The volume control on the pedal is a tiny little thing and is very sensitive. i have it very low to give a unity gain with my other pedals. The gain control is far less sensitive and can be adjusted without greatly increasing or decreasing volume - at least that's how it works for me. You wouldn't want to try to alter the tiny volume and tone controls in a gig situation but you should be OK to alter the gain within reason.

Used to have a TC Nova Dynamics which was exceptionally good but a bit too big for my board. Moved to a Keeley Bassist which I'm very pleased with.

Haven't had a chance to use it in anger yet but it does have a volume control so you can adjust the output to suit. Like I said, I paid £23 for mine off ebay so it's a real no brainer if you think it might work for you. I use it through a Precision (Tokai actually) and the sound on the Youtube demo is very accurate. I play finger style with flats so it takes a bit more drive to get the sound but it's all there. I've paid a lot more for pedals that (I suspect) weren't half as good.

No idea Al. Boght it used and got no info with it. Good little pedal though. Will see what it's like at volume but no reason to think it won't do the job.

Just picked up a Mooer Hustle on ebay for £23. First impressions are rather good. It's an OCD clone for anyone interested and has a High/Low Pass Filter toggle switch. Looking forward to giving it a proper run out. Here's a Youtube clip;

I have the Rumble 100 and it's a cracker. Lovely tone, powerful, versatile and light as a feather.

I think it's all about context. I used to play in a functions band which could have anything up to 13 members with full brass section and backing singers. In that situation my bass tone was very straightforward and un-coloured. In that band there was a lot of emphasis on nobody overplaying unless they were soloing. Now I play in a 4 piece Rock band comprising Vocals, Guitar, Drums and Bass. In this context I need different tones to ensure that the bottom doesn't drop out of the sound when there is a guitar solo. I only had a tuner pedal in the functions band but I need a pedal board fully loaded for the rock band (and the ability to tap dance which is a challenge).
