1.
On the strength of a few good reports from the biggest musical rippoff street in Christendom ? I'm still waiting to see if those Denmark Street guys from Music Ground who were putting together 'vintage' amps and cabs, as well as guitars and basses, on a wholesale scale, will ever get prosecuted ?? This was a very serious fraud with them even going to the trouble to make fake serial plates, and putting dust rust and fluff in to the newer made up bodies to make them appear vintage. Same guys also owned 3 other Denmark Street stores. ps: In fairness, as far as Im aware non of this has anything to do with Wunjo who just have the unfortunate happenstance to be on the same street ( and pay the same exorbitant rent and rates, I'm sure)
don't know about these issues, I just want to have a look, don't want to buy anything. no need for it.

3. Hi folks, I already own a vox dynamic looper that is able to make me use two different loops. but the restricted looping time of 90 seconds, a missing usb connection, fx that I finally don't really use and the disability to sync the 2 loops to each other (possibility stop and start both simultaneously, well at least start the second one on the same counted 1 as the original) made me want to sell it and get a looper that has more memory and provides the missing options. I'd be happy to get some recommendations for other pedals and some answers to the question: Are the Boss RC-30 and the Digitech JamMan Stereo able to sync 2 different loops so I can change between 2 different song parts to the same bpm that was defined by the 1st loop? thanks in advance.
4.
I just think some people simply don't have a sense of humour or are German perhaps.
hear, hear!
5. hmmm, a weekend in london is on my wishlist now...
6.
It's the day you invest yourself into properly learning your instrument, you don't have to be a competent player, just a passionate one!
no. it's the day you really do it....I mean play bass...
7. I already own a trelicopter and for guitar it is great. didn't try it with bass though.
8.
I think you mean at what stage you can call yourself a 'bass player' i.e. someone who can play the bass to a certain level of competence. Personally I think it's a title that can only be bestowed upon you by others - like a knighthood. It can't be bestowed by someone on themselves.
+1. since then I have to fight to be accepted as a guitar player, even as I have done it for 30 years now.
9. oops, I did it again. andy is a blast to deal with!
10. what about a carbine m6 then? I find it has also the big bottom and presence of a full tube head and one of the most defined tone to buy.
11.
Ok, so this is a bit of a 'left field' answer but if you want to spend up to £1,500 for something to use at home then you could try and hunt down a lovely old Ampeg SB12 or B15N combo: http://www.andybaxte...ails.php?id=188 http://www.andybaxte...ails.php?id=332 http://www.andybaxte...ails.php?id=316 These are absolutely lovely things to have in your home and just ooze mojo & class - check out some of their amazing history of use on so many classic recordings. I have a pristine '67 and I love it Highly unlikely that it's going to leave my house very often but I like it so much that it doesn't really bother me - every time I walk into my study it makes me smile, how many amps do that every day?
or this.
12. I didn't play one yet, but by the looks and the name I'd probably grab one of the new epifani al112 combos.
13. I haven't been in a real covers band for ages, but do also covers and interpretations either in my originals bands or projects. I prefer to play originals though - never liked to copy anybody.
14. if only I had the funds. good luck with the sale.

16. ps: hmmm, after reading again, I think I missed the 2nd half of bilbos post. I believe it doesn't help being hypothetic. asking "what if..." is just a waste of time. it is always making the best of what you have and can do with it and the will to improve. I always tried to play with people where I really enjoyed what I played with them plus that I could learn something from them and of course there had also been a time when I couldn't find the right people do do what I wished to do. it doesn't matter how good someone might have been, but how much one loves what he is doing. and if this means you need a better team to spread your love, then you have to move to where you can find it or settle for what you already have. I wouldn't do the latter.
17. I find it is a benefit being a bassplayer. since music is a language it mostly needs a partner to communicate with rather than only being a storytelling solo artist. I find the dialog in a group even more interesting and enjoy it much better than playing solo which I also did with bass, guitar and looper. not that I didn't enjoy it, but I always think that if you have a proper team it will always enrich you more than you would have been able to do on your own, plus on jamsessions there are mostly less bassplayers than guiterds so you can play more often.
18. recorded with my roland r-05 http://www.thomann.d...roland_r_05.htm sounds good enough for me and the menu is easy to work with. the metal housing shows some scars after 2 years uf use, batteries last veeeery long, have to change them every 6-8 weeks or so with using it twice a week on jams and rehearsals each time running for some hours. edit: this was recorded with the roland in the middle of an 18,5 m2 studioroom on my musicstand. keys through pa speakers on stands, bass though my studiorig and drums and percusssion without any amplification. so a completely basic recordiung.
