1. Fuzzdog, pedalparts.co.uk has some which look very similar.
2. About time this thread had a bump. Came across this conduit cutter in my local CEF yesterday, looks like just the job if you have a lot of enclosures to drill. Screwfix have them too. http://www.screwfix.com/p/armeg-pro-step-drill-bit-4-22mm/8662R?kpid=8662R&cm_mmc=Google-_-Product%20Listing%20Ads-_-Sales%20Tracking-_-sales%20tracking%20url&gclid=CIaDt4D21dECFQEL0wodThANPQ
3. Yes, that web site looks seriously broken.
4. He updated his thread in the affiliates forum 3 days ago, so maybe try asking in there?
5.
Correct!
So if this works, would I be right in thinking that you wouldn't need to spend lots of money on expensive ear buds with multiple drivers, because you wouldn't need to reproduce the bass frequencies with in ears?
6.
ACS Live systen on the cheap! What you have is half way towards a full inear mix with ambient sounds mixed in. Now you have the ambient mix sorted, you'll be hankering to get the rest of it down.
I have a Zoom h4, which might do all of this: stereo mikes for ambient, desk feed into one line channel, bass into the other line input, in 4 channel mode make up a nice mix and iems in the headphone socket. Would this work?
7.
Thanks to Phil (and Alex, and Bill) and the other contributors. It's threads like this one that keep me coming back to Basschat, and as the saying goes, your never too old to learn. I have in the past fried speakers and its an expensive hobby. Mine was not understanding how the amp shared its load across two cabs, meaning I fried two cones in my 500w cab whilst my 700w escaped unharmed. After that, I have been a lot more careful matching watts and ohms. Oh and I have a Microthumpinator on order to act as the first line of defense ;-)
Big plus 1 to this sentiment. We are so fortunate to have this level of expertise freely given.
8.
Out of all the crap that lands in my inbox every day I don't begrudge Basschat 1 email every blue moon.
Me neither. I'd be a little peeved if I'd already bought my tickets and missed out on a generous discount though.
9.
That's a shame, I'm on my honeymoon. Do people think Tina would prefer this to Iceland?
For a honeymoon, I think you should push the boat out and go to Waitrose. Or Sainsbury's at the very least.
10. i don't believe it, and neither is the seller claiming that it is - "I believe the name has been added" , he says in the description. It's just up the road from me, I can pick it up for you if you fancy a bid!
11. I wish I'd bought it for £500 quid the last time it was up for sale, in about 2009!
12. It's back. Now at £499, which seems more likely. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yamaha-BB800-Bass-Guitar-1978-Black-Made-In-Japan-/322391312889?hash=item4b100509f9:g:sM8AAOSwa~BYRrF2
13. An Ibanez Black Eagle, nice apart from a clunky attempt to repair the usual headstock break. http://www.ebay.co.u...qEAAOSw5cNYdUOj And an Antoria SG which has definitely seen better days. Found in a loft, naturally. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-1970s-Antoria-SG-Type-Bass-Guitar-Rare-Attic-Find-/292001183115?hash=item43fca0758b:g:mWoAAOSw2xRYe9Se
14. I like the general style - short, to the point, not too many long words ...
15. I've seen Kapok used to achieve the same effect.
16. +1. I might pay that for TRB6P, but not for the TRB6.
17. Smoke on the Water from Made In Japan. Iconic in so many ways.
18. Think Sattelite is Korean for firewood
19. David, I think your thread title may be a victim of auto-correction. Amazing bass, hope you find it a new home soon.
20. The i2M is better than the B2M, but not better enough to make it useable for bass. Latency and tracking are both definitely an issue. The Roland VB99 has a Bass-to-MIDI converter, but I don't know what it's like - when I owned a VB99 I didn't have a suitable MIDI box with the right number of channels (one per string) to try it out with. Ped might be worth asking. Much simpler to buy a keyboard - amazed BigRedX didn't mention that already!
21. Smoothound wireless rig would be a good British addition.
22. Think you'd need 'A or B' on both AB/Y boxes, rather than the 'A and B' which means two pedals to stomp on rather than one. The design of these makes it hard to switch both at the same time, so a bypass looper or a second-hand LS2 would do what you need. As far as I know, there's no Behringer equivalent to the LS2. Happy to be corrected.
23.
So I wanted something that didn't occupy the laps of everyone in the back seat - as the car boot is often full! This bass is a Tanglewood "Elfin". I think it's around 25" scale. I don't know its' exact weight, but it's ridiculously light, and whatever pickups they've installed are great - because if you heard this bass while blindfolded - you'd swear it was a full scale P bass. It's a mini monster, and though I don't use it too often..... It's going nowhere - I love it
This is what I was referring to in post #7 earlier. It's 19.75" scale length. Blue is definitely the better colour.
