Think of the smooth hound as a cable. Having two isn't going to help you with this. LS-2 is the way to go.

Can't see anything recent, even using google as a search engine. Latest is from 2014, not exactly recent. Something is broke.

It looks like a genuine 310 to me. I've seen the made in Japan sticker and the extra screws in the control plate before, on earlier models.. The only thing slightly odd is the serial number. It's not a 100 series. All 3 of my bass collections have Gotoh on the bridges. Too expensive though. 200 quid absolute tops for a 310 fretless.

By the way, thanks to the OP for the heads up. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would never have known about it, so thank you for posting. I've just upgraded the firmware on my one, everything went smoothly with no issues.

Of those, the MXR was the best choice for me because of the monitoring capability, plus you have conventional controls for attack, release, threshold, compression and make-up gain. If you wanted to spend a bit more the Keeley Pro is probably as close as you can get to a studio rack compressor in a pedal, but is a bit larger in terms of footprint. If you wanted a cheap way to experiment, the compressor models in the Zoom MS-60B and B1On are very good, there are clones of the EBS, DBX166 and a couple of others to play about with.

Sniffy contempt was the absolute minimum reaction to prog rock about that time. Interesting bass that Sheryl Crow was playing last night, some kind of short-scale Guild. Anybody know what it was?

I have a Seagull Grand Sunburst GT Q1T. It's a small bodied Parlour guitar with a 14 fret to body neck and built in pickup. It beat similar sized and priced takamine guild and tanglewoods hand down and held its own with a larrivee 3 times the price. Sound and build quality are excellent. When we plugged it into a Roland ac60 the amplified sound was also excellent and really brought out the bass range. We even had someone trying an electric in the next room come in and complain about the volume! Based on my experience I would definitely recommend Seagull. If you dont want to spend more than £200 look at the Vintage V300, they are unbelievable guitars in that price bracket.

Had my BB800 since 1980, and I'm sure there are plenty of people who can beat that!

I sometime use 2 capos, when I want one on the first fret a second on the 14th fret in order to measure the clearance at the 7th fret to work out whether the bow in the neck is right. The serial number clearly dates it to 1988. It's not an SB100. There of some pictures of my old red one in psychoandy's for-sale thread. Someone did a fair bit of research and identified the 5 as a 400 series. The finish on the body is translucent and looks to be Sen. The fingerboard is ebony. These are all characteristics of the 320 and 400 series. The 300 series and the 100s usually had rosewood fingerboards and solid body finishes. I can't tell what kind of bridge is on SICbass's from the photos, It probably also has a brass nut. In the other respects it looks similar. Edit: I've also noticed that the difference between the two serial numbers is 17, so I'd guess they were made very close together.

It looks very similar to the SB425 5string that I used to own, which I think Skezza still has. I'd say an SB420 from 1988, first two digits of serial number is the year. Pickups may have been changed too. They should have SGC in gold on them, can't tell from the pics if it's there, worn off, or not present.
