  1. Great minds eh @Mykesbass !
  2. Could be a tie-in with Vox. P.A. Glock made cabinets for Vox, they were based in Crayford: https://www.voxac30.org.uk/vox_ac30_updates_2020_05.html
  3. We never came across this scenario. I think if we were ever made aware by a client of the clause we would have declined the booking. In general, I think it's pretty unusual for the client to even read the contract, never mind make the bands aware of any relevant clause. If the client doesn't make the band aware of the clause, what then? I guess to cover yourself, it would have to be in the contract between band and client. All in in all I'm glad I don't do weddings any more!
  4. When I played with a band that did a lot of wedding gigs, we ended up with everything on UPS that would power everything long enough for it to reset. At the time we had a keyboard which took 2 minutes and 45 seconds to reboot itself.
  5. Great gig , well done. The best kind of jazz. Go with what you've got, you'll be fine.
  6. Look on the bright side. At least you don't have to go to Whitehaven.
  7. You would probably do better asking this in Amps and Cabs where the builders tend to hang out, but I'd say higher , probably 1.5-2.0 KHz. This is quite hard to do at the signal level and you'd probably struggle to build an analog pedal. It would make more sense to either use a Full-range rig like a PA cab, or buy one of the digital signal splitter pedals already on the market, for example KMA Tyler or XO Variable-Crossover.
  8. Yes, I think you're probably right.
  9. A BB1200 wouldn't have had a switch, and the jack socket would be where it is now. It would have been better to move the jack socket to the BB2000 position.
  10. Look on the bright side, at least they didn't ask you to pay a share of the studio costs! This is not unheard of in the brass band world, although you'd normally only bring someone to a rehearsal if they were depping a gig later on.
  11. Yamaha BB1200 , with Nordstrand P/J pickups fitted by Northwest guitars. Wonderful rather than weird. And not outrageously priced either. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/116375582489?_skw=bass+guitar+yamaha&itmmeta=01JBV8MXH8TEAA1XYNDSWST6V0&hash=item1b18867719:g:4agAAOSwSipnIO2Q&itmprp=enc%3AAQAJAAAA0HoV3kP08IDx%2BKZ9MfhVJKlq%2BcAGFRtjcjw4OZuo4ntIyWvfbwdWLL557hB8FzztQ7%2FbL82Zt00e4A8mNqMw1kUoRfPMijg5aArH6Pz5Bk7K09rrcrMryqcYAUsslqzAHiTtfRgC5YxZs9O%2Fz8kwVqfKfhlB9wcOX0UsWojgmLi1gFUeyoFa01vdkATLz8NGNTLe09nX4f4toFHe5Wv1CW7C2sfKtA4tOu1b31EAOoQMbrCvKpXWb4OswB0FDpU%2Fw9OYmoPPHnK4isvLt2rL0M8%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR9rY0-jeZA
  12. I've just been reading his obit. in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/music/2024/nov/04/quincy-jones-musician-michael-jackson-producer-dies He lived a long life, and packed a huge amount into it. Truly a titan of the age.
  13. You could do that, I'd be tempted to try driving the Blackstar rig from the Line Out first, that should work. I massively improved my Tecamp Puma 110 by replacing the High/Mid driver with a better quality unit and installing a proper crossover instead of the capacitor that Tecamp provided - I think the Eich unit is substantially the same design.
  14. Done. Have a freee bump on me. @Clarky I salute you.
  15. Presumably this is not an issue for parallel effects loops since you still have a signal path which bypasses the loop? I've also had success with spraying some switch cleaner on a jack plug and putting it into the socket a few times to lubricate the contact. This is a temporary bodge, leaving a cable there is a permanent bodge!
  16. @gixasix you don't state your location, but if you're anywhere near Colchester Peach Guitars would be well worth a visit. Their selection is vast.
  17. Pickups look a little bit like Delano.
  18. These are not far from me: https://www.gumtree.com/p/guitar-bass-amplifiers/bass-cabinets-trace-elliot-£200-ono-vgc/1486968622
  19. Yes, just about. I asked Presto about it, and they suggested that I resined the strings as well as the bow. This works, and you can get the resin off afterwards with isopropyl alcohol.
  20. Presto Lights or Ultralights might be a good choice if you like the sound. THey're quite low tension and they also work with a magnetic pickup if that's a requirement. I'm happy with mine, they sometimes come up used in the for-sale forum here. Liking the concept of uptight bass but I'm not sure I want to hear about your experiments with black nylons @Beedster. What you get up to at weekends is your own concern 🙂
  21. I make that 37 years, not 47.
  22. I've had a Vintage V300 for many years and I can't fault it. Solid spruce top and mahogany back, sides and neck. It's gone up a bit since I bought mine but they can still be found for under 200 quid, for example PMT. https://www.pmtonline.co.uk/vintage-v300n-guitar-outfit-natural
  23. No contest for best purchase. LFSys Monza.
  24. Audacity will do this on PC or Mac.
