Had a bit of an eye-opener on a bass-oriented Farcebook group this morning. My god, there are some selfish c**ts in this world.

Well I think I scooped todays local bargain - Brand new Gear4Music Acoustic bass (not half bad after a bit of fettling), TFI gig back and best of all 2 x brand new packs of unopened Dunlop strings in my usual gauge…all for the princely sum of £50 and a 45 minute drive 😁😁😁😁

When you’re stuck in an airport on the other side of Europe, completely stranded because your connecting airport is shut, the last thing you want to hear from the airline agent is “good luck”… 

Looking forward to playing Fiddler's Elbow, Camden on Friday. Onstage 8pm in case anyone fancies coming along. Expect rocking blues with tons of guitar solos and barely adequate bass playing 🤣

When you've tried everything and your new low B string still won't intontate properly.... 

Wow, Prosteels may well be the worst strings I have tried, its like having the mids on -15 with a boost in the bass just to further emphasize those missing mids

On BBC4 right now: Classic Albums, Tears For Fears 'Songs From The Big Chair'. Ohhhh YES.

Just started a new course of antidepressants...

I couldn't function with the previous ones - these supposedly have fewer side effects but the list is far from short...including a deterioration for the first 5 days!! Minimum course is 6 months.

The thought of this is making me depressed.

My band is learning "It's my life" by Talk Talk, so I've re-learnt it some 36 years after I originally learned to play it

Had a low profile on here recently....Mum died on 27th June following a stroke and bleed on the brain.

Her suffering has come to an end.

Just found out my aunt has died from the Corona virus...

Shock admissions - 2 of 'em. Just caught The Motors 'Airport' on radio 2 (that's the 2 admissions).
What an excellent bass track -well thought out, tasteful,  drives the song along - in fact it is the song. Bass is really forward in mix and take it away, the track would collapse.

Our trombone dude passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Wednesday. Whole band is stunned and bereft... can't believe we'll never see him again. Such a lovely guy.

It's January, so it's that time of year when the band I'm in decides to implode. It's a different band every year by the way. Back to square one it is then.
