1. Here's my 1965 B-15N... enjoy! [sharedmedia=core:attachments:4009] [sharedmedia=core:attachments:15563]
2.
It's been re-released on DVD: http://www.dannythom...ically-speaking
Brilliant. Thanks for the heads up on that!
3. Thanks for the very easy & pleasant deal for the EBow Martyn. Great comms throughout, prompt payment. Perfect!
4.
I'm sure mine wasn't more than £20. Didn't realise it had become so desirable.
+1 Amazing how book prices rocket when they go out of print, which I can only presume is what has happened, here... I picked up a copy of 'The Complete Beatles Recording Sessions: The Official Story of the Abbey Road Years 1962-1970' a few years ago for £20-30 (essential book along with 'Recording The Beatles') & they now sell for £200 upwards as they're out of print & very hard to get hold of... I've got the first edition from 1988 & the re-print from 2006 is selling (new) for £553.61 on Amazon!!
5. I had that exact model/colour back in the early 80's...a great, great bass...only sold it because I was getting a Wal custom. The colour looks even better in real life as you can see the grain much better than in the photos... Wish I hadn't looked at that link - very tempting!
6. That brings back some great memories. My first 'good' amp was an Ohm combo - 60W, 15" speaker, the one with the built-in compressor... Used it for all sorts of things. Brilliant little combo. The build quality was really good.
7.
ACS all the way, don't sell yourself short, I haven't looked back since getting mine 2 years ago. Si
+ 1000 Any branch of Specsavers can do the test/fitting for ACS....
8. That's a cool looking beast! What's the story with the viking longboat transfer/sticker on the body..?
9. Heads up.... Aldi are currently selling a nice heavy duty folding aluminium gear trolley (with decent big wheels) for £29.99 - looks ideal for transporting speaker cabs, flight cases etc... Get one while you can!
10.
Bump, No T-Bird fans out there?
IMHO - A good quality photo of the area of the headstock break repair would help I would think. I've seen this repair done really well...and also done very badly (there's one on US eBay currently that has a horrendously bad repair, astonishingly bad in fact...) - if yours is a 'good repair', which I'm sure it is, then if people can see that clearly on here you're much more likely to get some interest. Just my 10p worth of course! I'd be interested in having a look at your T-Bird...but it's a very long drive for me... Good luck!
11. This one on the Gruhn site is pretty cool: "Custom-ordered by Garry Beers of INXS, made in Fender Custom shop by John Page and Michael Stevens, serial number P003 (001 was a Strat, 002 was a prototype body for this instrument), used in "Suicide Blonde" video and promo photos for X album, a one-of-a-kind instrument, with letter from Beers.." For sale at $25,000!!! Plexi P Bass
12.
Serial # wouldn't be duplicated in the neck pocket, and anything from that era, if marked at all, would usually have pencil date in p/up route or neck pocket until mid 1960.
Exactly. This is no way a 1960 P Bass body. Just another internet scammer trying his luck.
13. Nice one - thanks for the heads-up...
14. And a very interesting development from Linn records - 'Studio Masters'

16. If I didn't have one already I'd have snapped this up (I had to get mine from the US - cost a lot more than this)... Have a bump for a unique microphone...nothing else sounds quite like this...as used on stage by Mr Jack White III.
17. That is such sad news. Levon is one of the all time greats... This has been posted before I'm sure - but it's a classic Levon moment:
18. 1964 Thunderbird Wow.
19. I've never seen this before - live footage of James Jamerson with Martha & The Vandellas Previously I was only aware of the Marvin Gaye concert footage - I'm pretty sure that this is the only other footage available! Credit for this find to a Fender Forum member

21.
I was at last nights Jazz Cafe gig, Norman was on great form and sounding good despite the awful house rig they insist on using at the venue.
Yep - the in-house pa is atrocious at the Jazz Cafe...ruined the Daniel Lanois/Black Dub gig I went to.
22.
+1. Good call.
+100
