1.
Bump, No T-Bird fans out there?
IMHO - A good quality photo of the area of the headstock break repair would help I would think. I've seen this repair done really well...and also done very badly (there's one on US eBay currently that has a horrendously bad repair, astonishingly bad in fact...) - if yours is a 'good repair', which I'm sure it is, then if people can see that clearly on here you're much more likely to get some interest. Just my 10p worth of course! I'd be interested in having a look at your T-Bird...but it's a very long drive for me... Good luck!
 2. This one on the Gruhn site is pretty cool: "Custom-ordered by Garry Beers of INXS, made in Fender Custom shop by John Page and Michael Stevens, serial number P003 (001 was a Strat, 002 was a prototype body for this instrument), used in "Suicide Blonde" video and promo photos for X album, a one-of-a-kind instrument, with letter from Beers.." For sale at $25,000!!! Plexi P Bass
 3.
Serial # wouldn't be duplicated in the neck pocket, and anything from that era, if marked at all, would usually have pencil date in p/up route or neck pocket until mid 1960.
Exactly. This is no way a 1960 P Bass body. Just another internet scammer trying his luck.
 4. Nice one - thanks for the heads-up...
 5. And a very interesting development from Linn records - 'Studio Masters'

 7. If I didn't have one already I'd have snapped this up (I had to get mine from the US - cost a lot more than this)... Have a bump for a unique microphone...nothing else sounds quite like this...as used on stage by Mr Jack White III.
 8. That is such sad news. Levon is one of the all time greats... This has been posted before I'm sure - but it's a classic Levon moment:
 9. 1964 Thunderbird Wow.
 10. I've never seen this before - live footage of James Jamerson with Martha & The Vandellas Previously I was only aware of the Marvin Gaye concert footage - I'm pretty sure that this is the only other footage available! Credit for this find to a Fender Forum member

 12.
I was at last nights Jazz Cafe gig, Norman was on great form and sounding good despite the awful house rig they insist on using at the venue.
Yep - the in-house pa is atrocious at the Jazz Cafe...ruined the Daniel Lanois/Black Dub gig I went to.
 13.
+1. Good call.
+100
 14. "Darren Thompson contracted so violently when he was electrocuted at San Cornelius prison, in 1967, that the arms of the chair broke. The pieces were used by William Muldover to repair an old bass electric guitar he played in the prison church ensemble "The Caged Angels" . . . Might explain the odd, but pleasant, tone." 16.
Would the scratchplate not have been the 'mint-green' seeing at it's a custom colour!? Beautiful bass Si
Lovely looking bass! But as Si says...the original pickguard would have been white on a CAR Fender in '65...maybe worth clarifying this for potential buyers? Best of luck with the sale!
 17.
I understand that. But, the earliest jazz basses (60-61) always had tort pickguards - even with the custom colours. So this is actually the right look for a custom colour JB from 1960. Later in the early 60ies the custom colours got the mint pickguards.
That's correct - a custom colour Jazz bass would have had a tort pick guard in 1960...
 18. 2012 BUMP! Interested in any and all offers / trades!!!
 19. Damn that's sad news... What a legend he was. Been thinking of selling my Wal Custom recently - bought new by me in 1987... But this news has brought back loads of memories - so I can see me holding on it to for many years more. Peter re-fretted it only a few years ago (must have been one of the very last jobs he did) & was kind enough to sign the neck butt for me. He'll be greatly missed I'm sure...
