2. These little Audient dual channel pre-amps are useful for recording bass with DI/mic as they have sweepable Phase on one channel.
 3.
Where's the best place to get one of these? A bit fed up of playing on boomy surfaces.
Bassdirect - I paid more for a used one off eBay a couple of years ago. Mark's price is very good.
 4.
It is rather good, and while the screen is small for some chord charts, it's usability and ease of use make it an essential tool for the gigging musician. Perhaps there should be a sticky for really useful apps, this being one of them?
The Peterson iPhone app is awesome - iStroboSoft - turns your iPhone into a Peterson strobe tuner. I love it.
 5. PM me if you want his contact details.
Hi, Does anyone have Clive Browns (yorkshire) number? Ta!
6.
Tune-o-matic was the sellers actual ebay user name wasn't it? And oddly enough the Jazz bass that was constantly relisted by someone trying to expose him as a supposed fraud was CAR as well. Perhaps he only had a little left over.
Yeah - this is the other account of infamous Tune-o-matic.... where he sells the parts he doesn't 'allegedly' use in his 100% original super-expensive vintage guitar auctions. Check out the other stuff for sale - a choco bass case for $2,500.
 7.
I read back my post this morning and it sounds very anti-power conditioner. It's not ment to be - what I mean is if you want to use one because it lights up your rack, and provides and easy rack-mountable set of sockets for you to plug in all your great then it's great. If you want to use one for the conveniance, then I think you should - but I would never say you NEEDED one as if they were essential.
I've got a Furman power conditioner that I got cheap off eBay (they quite often get sold off with recycled server racks) - as Joe suggests...just to use as an easy rack-mountable set of sockets. I took the top off to have a look inside, expecting to see at least some sort of hardware that would be doing the power conditioning 'magic'. All I could see was a set of main sockets! Most of the rest of the inside of the case is...empty. But it is very hand in a rack for plugging other bits into...
 8.
Little known fact about the RE-20: The capsule has a lifetime guarantee on it. I picked up a couple of them from different eBay sellers, both of which didn't sound quite right. I sent them to EV's UK distributor, who fully serviced them, replaced the capsules and all the foam, and posted them back to me. All for no charge. They sound amazing now, super-articulate.
Very cool. I didn't know that. I've got an RE-27 that I got off eBay...mmmm.
 9.
He no doubt could,6'4",ex South African police & army. Must get Chevy Blazer for next pic
Has the guy to the right of him in the black hat got a glass eye? Or two?
 10. Many thanks for the review - for that price that's got to be worth a punt! Where did you get yours from?
Just got one. Tracks pretty well - not as good as a Roland GK equiped bass - but fast enough to record or gig with. It's VERY easy to use, doesn't mess up your bass, is smaller than a fag packet and is quite cheap to buy (£70ish). Highly recomended!
11. Looks very interesting Peterson B2M — Universal Bass-to-MIDI Converter

 13.
Jim, I want so badly your Wal Mk I.
I've had the Wal from new (bought by me in 1987 after saving up wages from a crap job for a long time!) my first good bass - so it has a lot of memories...so I doubt if I could ever bring myself to sell it.
 14. Stop it!
Careful Jim, you'll have to sell the '72 to fund it! Si
15. Gorgeous. Somebody buy this please - before I do something very silly!
 16. As far as I know that's not a 1958 Senator - the dagger logo on the headstock wasn't introduced until 1964 & in fact I don't think they even started making Senator basses until 1963. There are other far more knowledgeable Hofner geeks (paging 'Happy Jack') on here who will hopefully add some more info... It looks like it has had all the finish stripped off the neck & body, it's got an extra button added that's not original, and is missing the Hofner badge. They are great old basses - but even when all original & in good condition they never fetch more than £300-400 - so this one maybe £200-ish?
 17.
Hi there, have you tried any of Pete's pedals?
No I haven't... I very rarely use FX pedals. But I do know that his pedals have an incredible reputation - expensive, but you'd be getting the best money can buy.
 18. Yes - I've got some. They are awesome.
Hi everyone, just got a couple of Pete Cornish guitar/bass instrument cables. OMFG! the sound quality and volume compared to my old cables was unbelieveable. Volume and clarity were so prononced that i thought i had knocked a couple of dials on the ABM. Pete has offered to make bass versions of his pedals.... does anyone use any of them? Kind regards Marc
19.
According to the website it is indeed the same company. I wouldn't touch 'em with a sh1tty stick.
+1000 RUN AWAY FAST. Mr 'Andy' is an infamously dodgy character - even for Denmark Street.
 20. There's a reason why you'll very often see an Avalon U5 sat on top of, or next to the bass rig of numerous famous/big name bass players, and on stage with the best high-end PA systems (e.g. Glastonbury) - it's because they are the mutt's nuts. The U5 is the 'Industry Standard' if you want the best DI bass sound live or in the studio.
 21.
A demonstration if one were needed of how hard it is to sell guitars of questionable provenance for ten times the amount they're actually worth. Hope Leeds is next.
+1000. The Leeds shop is on a par with Denmark Street. Never went to the Manchester shop but I would be frankly astonished if it was any better - being part of the same evil empire.
 22. Clunk. That's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor. If only I had the cash...& I don't even play 5 strings. Can't see this being around for long before it gets snapped up!
 23.
I spent the second half of last year looking for a really nice vintage jazz. I reckon that's a good price, so long as you're sure that (i) it's a 1963 and (ii) it really is all original. eBay dealer Bambibau often gets over £2500 for nice early-70's re-fins.
+1 That's a good price for a '63 with a body refin - as long as every other part is 100% original.
