[/quote] Yep, he was playing it at the Brudenell in Leeds when I saw them last year and it sounded immense. Made me want a TB but the prices are pretty exclusive. They are an amazing band though, I've seen them a few times since 1994 and they are really worth going to see on the rare times they tour.

There's something about a US P that just feels "proper"

I rock in pubs with my OBT. If anything it's not gritty enough for me so i stick a Zoom B3 in front of it with an SVT emulator running. I DI from the Zoom on the odd occasion I need to to avoid the hot DI on the OBT.

I love Fender flats but since buying the 62 Flea bass in summer I have realised that rounds suit my band better (indie rock). I'm going to swap the Fender flats from the P and put some Fender rounds on it, I'll see how I do as I'm not a fan of zing

I've seen a few RHCP line ups. Josh is OK, I enjoyed seeing Dave Navaro play but John Fruchanti was a cut above. Couldn't make it to see this tour unfortunately but I'm glad they are still rocking

Got it on the bench last night to have a look and there was no issue with it choking when played acoustically. The saddle on the G is a little low compared to the other strings (My dodgy set up, not a QC issue) but the string rung out fine. I think it might be an amp issue as I was playing through the rehearsal rooms old knackered Ashdown combo, I'll try it out tonight on my gig through my Orange rig. I also had the 3TSB RW on the bench as I have an unlocatable buzz on the E string. I can't find it for the life of me. Body end, not a fret or nut buzz. Held everything down and it still buzzed. The only thing I can think it is is the silk on the bottom of the string almost comes over the bridge and I think the buzz is where the ringing string causes the string rather than the silk to hit the bridge ?? Sounds unlikely I know

In my experience Ashdown customer service is second to none, hope you get it sorted soon.

Played mine last nigth and I'm getting a bit of choking/dead spot on the G fret 4. Going to tweek the setup and change the strings this weekend

I have a 3TSB RW Jazz and the Flea sig and love them both, i now use the Flea all the time as it has rounds on and suits the band better but the 3TSB RW Jazz is my favourite bass. It genuinely feels like a vintage instrument. If and when they do a RW 60's P I'll have one
