  1. I don't regret selling any of the great basses I've owned but, like you, I regret the one opportunity I had of acquiring the bass I'd love to have now. In the 90s a mate pestered me endlessly to buy his mint Wal MK1 for £600. I wasn't interested in the slightest at the time because I thought they looked crap. I was too busy trying to look cool, wrestling along with the pig of a Rickenbacker I owned back then. £600!! 🤦
  2. I understand what you're saying and agree with you regarding cancel culture, but what or who in particular are you referring to? I'm not sure I understand the context here.
  3. Covering MJ is a weird topic - Even Ian Brown (not one to pull punches on his views on anything) covered Billie Jean in 1999. After MJ's death later on he said this: In an interview with Q magazine he says the following when asked about MJ's death: 'Mixed feelings. He died for me in 1993 when the allegations about Jordy Chandler first came out. I did my grieving then. I heard him say it was OK to share a bed with 12-year-old kids, and I know it isn't'. The reason he was asked is because he was always a big MJ fan. Regarding the title of this thread... I'm a BIG fan of Frank Zappa's music but ever since I learned that bass player Roy Estrada is now a convicted paedophile, I can't and don't listen to the Mothers Of Invention music anymore. RE took the humor out of that particular music for me.
  4. Age: ✅️ Common sense: still looking...it's probably with my keys, wherever they are.
  5. They look great! I'm drawn to the orange one in particular.
  6. Drop the E down to D then use the pedal to take it the rest of the way to B? 🤔
  7. ...put on your red muse and play the blues 🎸 (Sorry just woke up)
  8. I think I'd prefer a shorter one now 😄

  12. I think it's less of a trick and more of a fun way to make a living. No doubt it's a cool game to play. I've got the knowledge, I just wish I had the funds behind me to do the same and put that knowledge to good use!
  13. Norm! What a great journey!
  14. Cor! Love it.
  15. Deoxit works wonders. Highly recommend.
  16. Just a thought... I wonder if simply selling what would be the CD cover (nicely done) on card with a download code on it might work better these days. It would cut your costs and enable you to sell them cheaper therefore probably selling more. Plus anyone who buys one will always have your music on them (phone) to play for their friends if they really like you, spreading the word. I don't even own a CD player anymore and don't know anyone else who does either...
  17. Easy fix so no worries. Loving that orange with the chrome! Are they T-bird pickups?
  18. It does have the make an offer option though. I'm sure he'll have a price in his head that he would really let it go for, listing it sky high will certainly keep the low ballers from wasting his time. There might be someone out there who gets it for 10Gs thinking they've won and done a good deal 🤷
  19. He who dares wins Rodney. Don't suppose they sell watches at this auction house do they? Could do with finding another one...
  20. Iron, Dandelion, Zion - Bob Marley and The Weedkillers
  21. The Shining - Wendy Carlos
  22. Brass Monkey - Beastie Boys
  23. Well, unfortunately I'm experiencing the downside of owning a vintage Fender... it's a lot of money tied up in a luxury plaything, so when real life intervenes (need building work doing on the family home), it's hard to otherwise justify struggling unnecessarily. I've had a year with my dream bass at least - the '65 P bass Packing it up to send to Andy Baxter to deal with so I can avoid the ballache of trying to sell such a thing from home. It's a sad day...
