  1. Good question @SumOne. My day job is working as a TA in a primary school, and my take on the matter is that everyone is born an artist. Every little kid I see is an artist as soon as the paints and paper or drums and ukuleles come out. Only a few of us refuse to stop.
  2. Yeah @hiram.k.hackenbacker the bridge and pickups are in line with each other but not the body or the neck. I fear this might be the work of a of a once good luthier whose eyesight is now failing him. I say this with all sincerity btw.
  3. So sorry to see this, I feel for you. If the luthier will read this thread I think it's also worth pointing out that some of the fret tangs are showing through the binding where they shouldn't and those black switch screws look a bit pis$ed, screwed in on an angle. Totally unacceptable level of care taken here. I hope you get a full refund so you can get one made properly elsewhere as that is a fab idea for a bass you came up with there.
  4. Begone fell beast!
  5. Sorted for E's & Wizz - Pulp
  6. 😂
  7. If they make it to the UK, I'm there!
  8. I reckon the Labella 760FL will feel closest to home for you. Bloody fabulous strings!
  9. Typical of the G&L story...now they've closed they're getting the advertising they always needed 🤷
  10. I think the BBX is the non export BB1600. 🤔
  11. Does anybody know if the bolt-on Yamaha BBVI has the same pickups as the through neck BB1200? I'm really taken with the idea of a BB1200 but the weight of them (and the price now) makes it a no go for me unfortunately. I'm wondering if the cheaper and a bit lighter BBVI would be a good buy instead? Thoughts appreciated... Edit... I'll soon find out, just bought one online for a song. Guinness - the voice of reason 😄
  12. The Fender Player Mustang is short scale btw. The Squier Classic Vibe Jaguar is medium scale which could be worth looking at.
  13. 100%. Also there might be a couple of people who like it and ask who the tune is by, thus getting turned on to looking into Fela, his work and message more deeply. I'm sure the man himself would have approved of this.
  14. Two Tribes - Frankie
  15. Squier Classic Vibe, Labella MUS flats, Gotoh Resolite GB528 tuners, and I'm installing a set of Sentell handwound pickups and a new wiring harness on Weds. Can't wait for that! It sounds fine as is to be fair, but, y'know how it is...
  16. How about treating your P5 to a new nut with the slots cut to the string spacing of your Warwick, a good fret level (pleked if you can afford it) to get lower without buzzing, and a set of strings with a tapered B and E to help get the string spacing on your bridge closer together? There's a few slots to choose from on the bridge you have on your Pro5. You're nearly there really.
  17. Or just the offset J pickup with the treble rolled back some. I'm sure the OP would have tried this though.
  18. Is the whole bass an AI mockup or just the pickups? I love the look of that!
  19. I've played with James a few times at open mike jams. He's incredible to be fair. I've seen older and well seasoned musicians shaking their heads and laughing as to what he's pulling off as they play together. Yes showboaty, but in a really lovely way. He's a nice fella for sure. Not an ego tripper. He asked for my number once as a backup option. Thinking that the now employer of NWR wanted my number for potential bass duties makes me grin. A story for the kids ☺️.
  20. Yes. Long story. I should do a show and tell thread of my own actually. Might be helpful to others as I've made a few mods and I don't want to get into derailing someone else's thread! Cheers
  21. I've also got a set of the GB528s on my Classic Vibe Mustang bass but interestingly, none of the screw holes lined up on that bass. I had to plug the standard holes and re-drill. Bit of a faff but easy enough. I was pleased that the set for the Sonic fitted exactly. On and done in 5 mins.
  22. I installed a set of Gotoh Resolite GB528 on my Sonic. The two screw holes lined up perfectly with the right side holes on my neck. Yes you can see the two remaining holes but not enough to bother me. Great lightweight tuners that also look better from the front imo, as they're a bit taller than the stock ones which barely clear the top of the headstock. I'll take a pic when I get home...
  23. Fender American Performer PJ? https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-American-Performer-Precision-Bass-MN-Satin-Lake-Placid-Blue/2R9X
  24. Do some nice calming breaths to relax - deep and slow nose inhale as you count to four, hold momentarily, then mouth exhale for four. That will help you get started. Also, hydrate. This will help you avoid cramping up. Practice your song A LOT. Put the time in so at least you won't be worrying about that. It doesn't really matter if you make a mistake anyway. Everyone makes them. Remember, everyone there will be right behind you mate. For sure. So don't worry about them either. Just go out there and enjoy giving it your best shot. Best wishes to all.
