1. Dodge Sub Lime Green, Peter has this picture to work from:
2.
Mine arrived last year... really pleased with it. What did you go for?
That is nice. He is building me a bass with two P pickups and a DiMarzio Will Power humbucker near the neck. I liked my Yamaha Attitude and wanted an extra P pickup because I love the sound of dual P basses.
3. I ordered a Peterbuilt in April last year, it should be ready in a month or so.
4. Recognisable part, noodle noodle noodle, recognisable part, noodle noodle. I didn't like it. IMHO the overplaying did not add anything to it, when it comes to instrumental versions I prefer how Jimi Hendrix played it at Woodstock.
5. Pickguardian: http://www.pickguardian.com/ Very good service and the prices aren't bad either.
6. My Peterbuilt Dynamite P. I can get all the sounds that I need from it, it feels great and it is the coolest bass on this planet. It is unique and I love it to death.
7. Peter Gabriel - The Book Of Love. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drAG4asyyp8
8. I still think my Peterbuilt is the definition of cool. 9. I wanted to give mine away to a Scot; he insisted on paying for it. They are that good.
10. Very nice. I love the tone of your bass here.
11. This is a sketch of the bass that Peter Boer (Peterbuilt) is building for me at the moment. I hope it will be ready around the end of the year. It will have two DiMarzio Model Ps and a DiMarzio Will Power humbucker near the neck. It was inspired by my Yamaha Attitude; I wanted an extra P pickup because I love the sound of twin Ps. 12.
I submit my Grove Guitars bass (www.groveguitars.com): the top is made from a vintage Moosehead beer crate, the neck is by Status Graphite.
The body of my Peterbuilt was also made by Scott Grove. No beer, mine was made from an old crate of dynamite. 13. "Mojo". when it is just a beaten up neglected piece of sh*t.
14. Congratulations, it is a beauty. How does it play and how does the neck feel? Is it like a Precision or more like a Jazz neck?
15. Axis of Awesome hammering the point home long before this case. The lawyer of the Gaye family would have a field day if he saw this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I
16. You're welcome. Just lucky that you are close to Zaandam and I am a hoarder, a sane person would have sold that stuff already.
17.
I want a mint green pickguard for my 75RI Jazz... but some are too fake bright green. I bought one once from a shop in the Netherlands that was perfect, just the kind that looks "aged" and slghtly greenish... But I don't recall who they were
I can think of two stores now, was it one of these? 18. Hearing John Entwistle. His thunderous sound from the 60's and early 70swith Fenders and Fender/Gibson hybrids is my favourite bass sound. Bass that you can hear and feel.
19. Thank you, gentlemen. The G&L is not really my sound but I decided to keep it in case I could use a modern sounding bass. I just thought that it would be better that silky13 could have some fun with it than leave it to collect dust. Basses are meant to be played and I like to help people when I can.
20. Dijkman is another good store in Amsterdam. Haarlem is only 20 minutes away by train and near the station there are two stores: Alphenaar and Music Maniacs.Music Maniacs don't have many basses though. What kind of bass do you need? I am close to Amsterdam and have a G&L Tribute L-2000 that I hardly use; you could borrow that one for a while.
21. Here is a sound clip from the site of De Gier: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBgU0P5RJh4
22. Live At Leeds - The Who. The raw energy and Entwistles tone on that album make it my favourite. The label on the vinyl disc had "crackling noises OK, do not correct" printed on it, that only added to the cool factor for me when I first got it.
23. Ulas is new here. There is a group culture or herding instinct on Talkbass that we luckily don't have here. Please give him a break, he is just very enthusiastic about Maruszczyk basses.
24. Fender Roger Waters Precision for £500: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/252457-fs-fender-roger-waters-signature-precision-immaculate-condition-l500/ Ampeg BA115 combo for £130: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/250895-fs-ampeg-ba-115/ The Roger Waters Precision is a great bass and you can't go wrong with a Precision and an Ampeg amp. The remaining £370 could get me a car to drive to the gig.
