1.
Can I be the first to say Mex P with a Thick neck and a quarter pounder? There isn't another mex with this neck profile currently but it ain't even close to Roger's current bass
You forgot to mention that it has a capped maple neck, the only bass in the Fender range with this neck construction since the '66 slab Precisions.
2. In: Chinese Lemmy faker Maruszczyk Mr. Tee Ibanez Destroyer DTB400 Fender Roger Waters Precision Peterbuilt Dynamite 51 P No basses went out, I am a hoarder.
3. I owned an AB10 when they just came out and it had diagonal slots, no soundhole.
4. I love mine. Lovely chunky neck and since I already have a vintage sounding P I had a good excuse to buy this one for the more modern sound,. Mine weighs 3.98 kg.
5. I have a Modern Player Telecaster bass, no complaints about fit and finish. A very good bass. People are often prone to think that all Chinese products are of inferior quality, they seem to forget that all iPhones are made in China too.
6. Peter Boer built this bass for himself last year and got many positive comments about it. The top is made from a 70 year old crate and the body is one piece of African mahogany. The neck is a fat Allparts Tele neck and the pickup is a custom wound 66 Thunderbucker, overwound to deliver a higher output. It growls and barks, a lovely fat vintage sound with a bit of a sharp edge. It reminds me of Entwistles sound on Live At Leeds. Peter decided to thin out his collection and put it up for sale; I love the look of this bass so I went to try it out and fell in love with the sound and feel too. When I picked it up I had that feeling "this is The One". It felt like a pair of comfy slippers but these slippers have steel capped toes to kick serious butt. Enough blabbering, now some pictures: Very nice touch: etched neckplate with slot head screws. Large ferrules. Two saddle bridge where the saddles can be tilted and fixed with a set screw, so no problems with the intonation. I am sorry that I can not post sound clips, I only have a phone to record and that doesn't do the sound any justice.
7. The Dynamite P is mine now. I'll start an NBD thread after I have taken some pictures, it plays and sounds fantastic. P meets Thunderbird, think Live At Leeds.
8.
This is pretty much the exact opposite of what I look for in a bass.... but I love it... Top made from a 70 year old dynamite crate...anyone got £1100 for my xmas present?
I have an appointment with Peter to try this bass out on Monday. If it sounds and plays as good as it looks it will come home with me.
9.
A bass player might be in front of a bass amp. Blue
In the center of the pic, in front of the Ampeg stack and behind Gary Coleman?
10. Mr. Tee agrees with the OP.
11. Green and a link to motorbikes, that has to be a Kawasaki. Maybe Mach IV after this beastie and because it has four valves: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kawasaki_H2_Mach_IV
12. RebelRelic in Amsterdam made a batch of them earlier this year. You can email them at [email protected]
13. From the item description:
This bass has a huge crack down the middle and back. As the lore goes, while on tour in the mid 90's, Roger Daltrey asked Entwistle to turn his bass down. In true rock and roll fashion, Entwistle threw the bass at Daltrey and said, "you play the F***in' thing", as the bass hit the ground it cracked right down the middle.
Pete Townshend tells a similar story on the Ox's Tale DVD, so it could be that bass. Still way overpriced,
14. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Warwick-John-Entwistles-Personal-Collection-Pink-Buzzard-Bass-Guitar-RARE-/331328801522?pt=Guitar&hash=item4d24bc4af2 I can not see this one fetching the asking price, other ex-Entwistle Buzzards have sold for far less than this one.
15. I vaguely remember an album cover in the style of Never Mind The Bollocks with Marilyn Monroe on it but can't remember the name of the band right now.

It's a lovely bass. All that shiny black paint makes it a bit of a dust display, so I changed the pickguard on mine. I wanted to retain most of the blackness and got this one from Pickguardian.

Funny, the serial number of mine is only three higher than yours. They must have made the trip across the ocean together. I love the neck on this model; the skinny vintage frets feel so good. Is it a Roger Waters Precision? The brass nut and lack of truss rod plug make me think it is one.
19.
Wooooowwww!! May I ask how much it cost you?
Just over 650 USD including postage. It was shipped by FedEx so I may still get a bill from them for import duties.
I've always fancied an explorer-type bass too, but I fear I may end up looking like a pensioner wearing a hoodie and trainers... Nice bass though.

Marvellous looking bass! Same as Discreet above, in my mid forties fear I'd look a twat with one, LTD do a nice looking explorer type too, but love it.
I am 50 and probably look like a pathetic old b'stard when I play it; I just don't care. There are rockstars older than me playing more outrageous designs.
20. Ibanez recently released this bass in the US and when I asked Hoshino Benelux they told me that it would not be available in Europe. I have been lusting for an Explorer type bass for a while and this one looked just right, so I ordered one from Sweetwater. The "top" strap button is located on the neck plate and the bass balances perfectly. The neck is slimmer than the Precision necks that I normally prefer but it is not too narrow (40 mm at the nut) so I will probably get used to it. Sounds good, looks ace, I am happy.
21. Another Creedence track that you don't hear very often; I love this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lb3ppp_RoT0
22. Thank you. Everything looks normal, there is no wire between the casings and it doesn't look like there has ever been one. My multimeter has a dead battery, I'll check for bad connections tomorrow.
23. My single coil Precision has developed a strange problem: when I turn the volume on the bass down the hum gets louder. It has always hummed a bit but the hum that I get now is much louder than normal. I have not changed anything, can someone suggest what the problem may be?
24. No, there is no five string version. The headstock is not wide enough for a fifth tuner. There are five string versions of the Jake and Elwood (P and J) with a jazz or precison pickup and a humbucker in the bridge position.
25. 34" The one on the site was sold so I asked Adrian Maruszczyk if I could order another one. He said that it would take 10 weeks and 11 weeks later he sent me this picture, I could choose between two. The one on the left has a classic two saddle bridge and I don't really like the yellowed neck so I took the bass as I ordered it, the one on the right. I had asked Adrian to put flatwounds on mine, he did that and threw in a nice wide padded soft leather strap The communication with Maruszczyk was excellent, the bass is flawless, I can see myself getting more Maruszczyk basses in the future. Here is a demo video of the Mr Tee basses in different configurations. I love the sound of the green one with flatwounds in this video, that is why I ordered mine with flatwounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjiudRPOkRc
