1.
Bump for a great amp. I used to know Martin through 18watt.com too - great bloke as well as a good builder.
Thanks matey, Martin's a great chap indeed! makes a lovely brew and has a very exciting garage!

  8.
Mine is how it is.. I've got a couple older laklands, with Bartolini pickups.. and a couple newer with "lakland" pick ups which are actually made from Hanson guitars.. when they bought lakland a year or so ago. but yeh on that vid im using a standard Skyline 55-01, love them!
Superb matey! I've got a 55-02 on order to go with my 55-01, they're both great but different aren't they... Hanson and Lakland are 2 brothers or something aren't they so it's almost not quite a buy-out
  9.
Usual Lakky indeed.. Just a 55-01 and yes. on this i am using a pick and Guitar Distortion pedal, EQ and COMP. (just incase anyone cares) thanks guys! don't really post TV stuff up here.. nice that its well received
Cool, whatever gets you the right noise eh! Have you kept the lakky stock or changed any bits matey? I know some have swapped all the electrics but I kinda like mine as is...

    Why?

my pedal line up (in signal chain order) is a follows: Boss TU-3 (tuner) Wren & Cuff Pickle Pie B (bass fuzz) EBS Multidrive (overdrive) EBS Multicomp (compressor) - always on! EBS Octabass (bass octaver) EBS MultiChorus (mass chorus) - gets used on 'Don't Stop Believin' for that 70's/80's bass sound I don't have any wack pedals that do wierd stuff cos I don't play that sort of music, there are those on here who have loads of fx on their board, but they do play that sort of music...

  20. Isn't it all over those fancy Fender pickups, the Samarium-Cobalt ones?
  21.
Are you sitting comfortably?....... Long, long ago...... I was contacted by exiled Geordie Alan Rogan (Guitar tech for The Who among others) who told me Pino Palladino was seeking a Precision bass in order to change direction after becoming aware that his fretless sound was being cloned in quite a few recordings at the time. Being based dahn sarf it was felt he would be paying a premium for a decent bass in the likes of Denmark Street and that better bargains could be had up North. That was true then (pre-internet and all) so I was asked to track down a pre-CBS bass as I had my finger on the pulse as far as North-east basses were concerned and had already done deals with Alan involving early Fenders so he knew I would be able to find the right piece. Sure enough, I found THAT one - a fiesta red re-fin, all hardware original and priced it at £450.00 IIRC. After speaking to Pino directly, it was parcelled up and sent to him after I re-strung it with La Bella flats. This was in the belief that he would be going for the 'old school' sound and those strings were best suited to a 60s Precision. It turned out that Pino changed to rounds pretty quickly but then reported a few days later that he thought I was right after all and put the flats back on. The rest, as they say....... Quite proud of the connection, but it's ironic that, being retired now, I couldn't even afford one of the tribute models based on the one we dealt.
That's fab (kinda sad about the parting-shot though!) I love stories like this! The 'backstage music biz' is full of this kind of real-ness!
