1.
That's a very generous offer, thanks! I'm in SE London ... we do have trains though, so can I get back to you on that one? Thanks again.
Not a problem matey!
 2. slightly off topic (but not very far methinks) will someone tell me how much their passive Shuker jazz actually was?
 3. Mr Discreet, where abouts are you? I'm in Sheffield, you're welcome to pop over and have a nosy at my p-bass?
 4.
I am fairly sure there was some kind of upset either here or maybe Talkbass regarding the fact basically all this gentleman does is buy OEM parts and put them together, the nuts he hand cuts from blanks but other than that they are really just bitsa basses, granted good ones but nowhere near as solid as something you can get from a true bespoke builder (of course for a bit more money!) EDIT, the higher end models are 1200 dollars plus, then count into that shipping and import duty for something built out of a kit... Go see Mr Shuker, wait a bloody age but get something truly hand made for the same maybe even less money.
He's open about buying bodies, necks and hardware in, in his defence he does buy really really nice ones! If they expected him to build a completely hand built custom bass then I'd suggest they hadn't read his website very carefully. Once you've converted from dollars to pounds and added on import duty and vat it was more or less the same price in dollars as it was in pounds (ie 1:1) The bone nut on mine is spot on, the assembly is superb, he re-does the neck pockets so they're super-snug and marries the bridge to the body perfectly, despite not being 'string through body' my p resonates unlike any fender I've ever tried (and I've had a few), it's much more like the piano like Lakland I have! No dead spots either!
 5. I ordered it in the February and received it at the start of October, he had a few hiccups on the way which he was very open about, he also relocated during that time and I changed the spec on him too, he's quoting pretty quick build times now though (4-6 weeks ish I think)
 6. Yep, I have one and I love it! It's a '61 P-bass Jameson funk-machine remake and it sounds and feels perfect (especially strung with flats and with a bit of foam under the strings near the bridge), price was v good for how great it feels! His comms were superb, he kept me up to speed with progress and was willing to chat endlessly about details and random stuff. I got it in 2010 and it cost just under £800 including shipping etc and hard case (at the time)... I've recently started making enquiries about him making me a custom shop style '61/'62 stack knob jazz fretless and it's looking like about £1100 ish (inc shipping etc)
 7. It's a superb blu-ray! Vinnie Calaiuta is an amazing drummer too! Watch the audience shots too, there're some v famous names hiding in the shadows looking v impressed by the band!
 8.
Bump for a great amp. I used to know Martin through 18watt.com too - great bloke as well as a good builder.
Thanks matey, Martin's a great chap indeed! makes a lovely brew and has a very exciting garage!
 9. We tend to have 4 mixes: 1 front left 2 front right 3 keys 4 drums I usually get by on spill from the other monitors (1 & 2), my backline and the guitarist's backline, not had a problem thus far
 10.
You should see it in the flesh!...
lol, I suspect I'd be unable to pay my mortgage for a while if I did cos I'd want one!
 11.
There's some in Alan's Build Progress Thread >> http://basschat.co.u...32#entry1528232 More to come though Eude
That looks absolutely beautiful! The woods look sooooo tasty
 12.
Just thought I'd bob by to tell all that I have the bass! It's freakin' amazing too! When I see daylight, probably at the weekend, I'll get some photos taken, but it's even better than I thought it could be! Watch this space... Eude
Very excited now! Super happy for you! Want to see pics now
 13. I have a pair ultimate ears buds that are brilliant when properly fitted... I hav the pack hung from my right back pocket and the cable running straight up my back
 14.
Mine is how it is.. I've got a couple older laklands, with Bartolini pickups.. and a couple newer with "lakland" pick ups which are actually made from Hanson guitars.. when they bought lakland a year or so ago. but yeh on that vid im using a standard Skyline 55-01, love them!
Superb matey! I've got a 55-02 on order to go with my 55-01, they're both great but different aren't they... Hanson and Lakland are 2 brothers or something aren't they so it's almost not quite a buy-out
 15.
Usual Lakky indeed.. Just a 55-01 and yes. on this i am using a pick and Guitar Distortion pedal, EQ and COMP. (just incase anyone cares) thanks guys! don't really post TV stuff up here.. nice that its well received
Cool, whatever gets you the right noise eh! Have you kept the lakky stock or changed any bits matey? I know some have swapped all the electrics but I kinda like mine as is...
 16. Superb, super tight sounding pop with a hint of personality from the band, lovin it!
 17. As above, there are 2 types of speakon that I know of, one where there's a hole that a jack fits in and one with no hole...
