I don't know of any UK TecAmp dealers - they used to be distributed by the Bass Merchant, but he now produces his own range of cabs. [url="http://www.basscenter.de"] Bass Centre Germany[/url] might be able to help - they have some Tech gear still in stock and also stock TecAmp stuff.

My Tech cabs are fine - 9 hours rehearsals a week and, pretty soon, a gig every other week. It's not how light they are, but how well made they are anyway and the Techs win on both counts.

I wouldn't bother with a rack bag for anyting over 4U. Even 4U is pushing it- every 4U bag I've owned has ended up in the bin! If you want light and portable, you could get two smaller rack bags or cases - one for your head/power amp and one for your outboard gear.

Do you mind driving from Shropshire to the Dorset coast?

I think the extended's T&Cs are probably the result of his dealings with some of the kinds of ebayers we love to discuss on this forum. He probably gets hassle from every seller asking him to fiddle the value of the instrument on the customs declaration. The same buyers would probably then get shirty if the instrument they've bought gets trashed in the post and the compensation is about enough to buy a replacement made of balsa wood.

the very helpful Bassthing68/BT68/Thumper who can now be found on Finnbass was very nice and stamped 4 holes in a Badass II of mine to enable it to be used with through body stringing. If you contact him via Finnbass he may be able to help.

I'd be inclined to post a follow up comment to the effect that you kept buyer in the loop and that claim is currently in progress. Send off the forms to Royal Mail and if you get your £36 then send it to him less the cost of postage - he's ripping off Royal Mail after all. If he complains, tough - he should have paid you for special delivery. A lot of ebayers get all flustered about negative feedback. The system's compromised as it is anyway and everyone knows there's ways around it.

I have a pair of Trace Elliot badged 12AX7s taken from my mate's Trace Elliot 4 x 8" V-Type combo. I don't need them and I know there are a few forum members who go a bit funny at the knees at the mention of anything TE-related, so I thought I'd offer them up for free. Might be great, might be microphonic. Anyone interested? I'm around 5 miles from J9 of the M25

They are American Standard series and I believe they are cheap because they have been sitting around in Sound Control since the great flood.

I swap between standard and Drop A alot and, to be honest, it takes a few seconds to double check your tuning. A hipshot would be fine - it's just dropping the strings down two steps and the tension on the B is much less than on the other strings.

I got my Boss ME50B along with a Boss loopstation, so I'm going through something of an epiphany in terms of Boss Effects pedals.

I own a ME50B. I used to own a Line 6 and much prefer the BOSS. + Points Plus in and go - default mode is manual, so no playing around with patches It's lovely and compact The compressor/limiter is great The chorus is good and chorus + delay and +reverb effects are very good Battery powered Very, very good tuner Built like a brick sh*thouse - Points The Phaser and Flanger in manual mode are too loud and distort The synths aren't very musical The distortions sound odd and very weedy The way the effects are distributed is a little odd For example - distortion + synth is an obvious pairing, but it can't be done, because both kinds of effects are controlled by the one pedal/control knobs Delay/Phaser + reverb or delay is another obvious pairing, but can't be done for the same reason. As with all multi FX, there are trade-offs, but where the Boss does win is the decent tuner, compressor and modulation effects

I love my Monster cables. Then again, I got them on special when Andertons were flogging them for 50% after buying all of the ex-UK distributor's stock. Granted, they were around £30 each, but I've had them for over 7 years now.

Tough crowd. Some people seem to forget that everyone on ebay has got to start somewhere. Of course, they could simply build up by buying and selling utter tat, but someone would pick up on that too.
