  1. Blinding lights - I play four notes, but the sound is a lot of fun
  2. Thanks I’ve also discovered that it takes regular gauge strings just fine
  3. Solo acoustic gig last night at a venue I’ve not played since pre covid times. Apart from one gobby punter who seemed to be upset by the fact that I was getting attention not him, it was a cracking night
  4. It’s stacked vols, stacked treble/bass and tone that pulls up for passive and works in both modes
  5. Played a private birthday party do last night on a truck, in a barn, somewhere near Hereford I think! It wasn’t great, the crowd weren’t that bothered and the truck was so bouncy I was concentrating on not vomiting more than I was playing!! It was my first outing for my new bass, which is looking like a keeper (I always need the engineer’s FOH verdict before I commit - hence no NBD post yet). Here’s a video snippet but the bass is somewhat inaudible which is annoying, I’m sure it was ok in the room though. Tonight I’m off on my own for a solo gig in Wotton under Edge. 6. Decided to part with this amazing preamp pedal for literally no reason other than I really want to scratch the itch for a trace transit B and this will have to go to fund it!! This has very useful independent high and low pass filters, super musical EQ, all manner of handy switches and sockets and is a proper Swiss army pedal suitable for pretty much everything. Price is delivered in the UK. Or I’d swap for a transit B.

Yet another set of pickups and electronics. The white looks a little bright compared to the rest of the bass, but they sound fantastic.
  8. Definitely. There’s fun to be found just from the sheer act of playing and performing. I’ve done it several times, I was in a classic rock band for a few years, existing in a world I know nothing of and didn’t care for, being introduced to supposedly famous names that I’d never heard of. It was ace fun. Same thing happened shortly afterwards with a metal band too. You only live once
  9. I had a Wesley in for a set up a few years back. Weighed a ton and was a bit of a dog if Im honest.
  10. Same, they made my excellent IEM/guitar combo cable. Absolutely superb.
  11. Two for me, both without our engineer, which sucked. We got by and both gigs were… fine! Not much to report. Just, fine
  12. East preamp, fully working, no drama. Fab sounding preamp that really does preserve the natural tone of your bass and then add bass and treble controls. You even get to keep the tone control and passive mode. NOTE! the pic shows the preamp attached to my somewhat ‘grungy’ control plate! This is not for sale! You will receive the preamp attached back onto its own lovely shiny plate. (The shiny newness looked out of place on my beat up old jazz so I swapped it over!) £100 posted to uk only
  13. Pretty straightforward. One pair of Seymour Duncan quarter pounder jazz bass pickups in good condition with plenty of wire. Lots online about these, a real fave of mine, a lovely fat tone with lots of grunt. £100 posted to uk only. Ono
  14. Slang for I take them out and use them - it's not often.
  15. Headphones at home and iems on a gig. I’ve two headrush 112s that sometimes get an airing, but that’s pretty much it.
  16. Bit of a rough n ready (and bass heavy) live recording of me butchering Rio 😂 The audio is a bit like the bass playing, all over the shop and not much cop, but still, it’s fun innit Headphones best obvs
  17. This bass seems to have taken on a life of its own over the years! More people seem to know it than me!
  18. Quick and dirty phone vid to show that, despite my dodgy playing, it really does play just fine It’s fun and tiny IMG_8037.mov
  19. Ok. So, this is a bit different! Bought recently to see if I liked headless. Which I do. So I’ve since bought an EHB, and this is now taking up space in the rack. Dunno if the work was done by someone on here, but it’s a cracking job! Apparently it lost its head unceremoniously. The thing plays great with a nice low action. All the electronics are standard (older model) SR500, with no issues or drama. It’s currently wearing a brand new set of light strings with a 100 E. The weight is around 8lbs, about 7.5 of which is the bridge! 😂 (hence I’ve added a second lower strap button on the bottom a la status - this works great.) There’s a custom fabricated shim plate in the neck joint to compensate for the larger bridge and it’s just a total blast to play. A real slap monster Strictly collection only from Cheltenham. - I really do have no time or facility to post I’m afraid. £170 collected ONO Im not that fussed about selling, it’s a fun thing to have around, it’s just not getting used at all. Please do study the pics carefully.
  20. Same! I’ll add in my Genz Benz contour 500 combo and extension cab. One of the best rigs I’ve had, despite that fact that I’ve had some really nice rigs. But this simple little combo was just flawlessly fabulous
  21. A.. Every single cable for the band’s entire set up gets meticulously wrapped and taped for storage after every show. Takes a minute, but it’s ultimately worth it.
  22. I just stand behind the subwoofer. Gives me the feel of a bass amp being around, when its just me and my IEMs, works well for me and my particular band set up.
