  1. I used to work in Tandy in Hinckley
  2. Mostly just grumpy for me. If I smile I lose too much bass in my in ear monitors. That and I hate everything. But mostly the in ear thing.

  4. I literally bought a Hipshot this morning. I’ll get more as budget allows. only blimmin sold one that would have fitted last year too!! Must stop selling stuff!
  5. If we had a set list that’s totally what I do, but it’s one of those ‘singer calls it’ situations most often.
  6. Wedding at Cheltenham football club last night. It was ok, I wasn’t really feeling it this time tbh. My in ear mix was brilliant but the crowd lacked energy and I made a few silly mistakes (forgot to tune back up after drop D songs) only I noticed, and I fixed it quick, but it shouldn’t have happened. Hey ho.

  8. Another standard local pub gig last night, but the crowd was a lot of fun and it was a much needed release. Off to play at a wedding later. 1b466115-f4c9-4984-b95b-e642717ff38f.mp4
  9. Thanks. It’s got lovely figuring and a high gloss that almost looks wet. ‘Twas a find for sure
  10. Been a tad busy this week, but last weekend was fab. Just a local boozer where I’m squished into a corner, but my uni course is so intense it felt amazing just to feel like ‘me’ again for a few hours. This weekend is a double whammy so I’m looking forward to that! here's a few pics from Sat.
  11. After years of amazing bass rigs. im now firmly in the IEM camp. It really is transformative. I no longer own an amp, just a couple of Headrush 112s that sit at home week in week out while I grab my headphones and go.
  12. I’m thinking about one of these necks for my jazz. It has allparts one right now, but I’d like something a little thinner front to back
  13. Thought of a few more I always enjoy, Rio, Hysteria, Figure it out and time after time.
  14. Sir Duke Bombtrack Screamager I wish my band’s version of moves like Jagger. Im sure there’s more.
  15. I’ve also been around since the 100-odd members of bassworld days. I’m fact, my first interaction was a bass swap and the member sent me their bass first on trust as I was a newbie! I’ve met a few members over the years and have always found this place a great solace in tough times. it’s usually my first and last port of call each day, even though I don’t post that much nowadays. Love this place.
  16. Ive always said that a Sei flamboyant is my dream bass - despite never having seen one in the flesh, much less play one! Probably should sort that one day.
  17. Bit of a tidy up and change around for me. This board gives me two signal paths, one to foh and one to IEMs with amp sim. The IEM feed can also run out to to my 2x Headrush 112s without cab sim if I need it to. I di from the Qstrip with a low cut to foh, but can also di direct from the zoom if I’m using the Headrush set up. The horse eq and sparrow di are there purely for the single Royal Blood song in our set. My custom guitar/headphone cable is visible on the right. Under the board there are two power supplies, one is purely redundant in case of an issue with #1.
  18. We (The Bridge) played at our singer’s local pub in Gloucester, hence the place was rammed. I was getting over a second bout of covid (nothing like my 2020 close call! - More like a nasty cold with a hangover this time thank goodness!) I sat for some songs and stood for others (tested negative before) and only arrived just before we started and left straight after. Played fine, with IEMs it’s no stress or struggle anyway. We had our stand in FOH guy, so no pics or vids this week.
  19. Three generations of string boilers all in a row
  20. I used to often boil strings as a perma-skint teen back in the 90s. They tended to sound bright again for maybe a few hours, and I was always told it made them brittle, but I never had one snap. These days strings can be had so cheaply it doesn’t seem worth it anymore. Oh the memories
  21. Yeah, I may replace it as it’s so handy. It’s Only the preamp foot switch that’s failed, it’s gone a bit unreliable, but I was using it with a full bass cut for the intro of a royal blood song, so now the Dr J does that job and I’ve zoom ms60b in it’s place in the IEM loop.
  22. I use an amazing old app called Robick. Lets me cut bass very effectively or guitar for those songs. Also change the pitch and tempo independently of each other, it can also loop sections at slowed tempos etc. But once again you have to own the song to import it. It’s fantastic though.
  23. And me, irrational fear of using them.
