  1. That set me off on a quest to find a signature bass that I would consider owning - surprisingly, I found one, the Kiesel Amos Williams Signature 5-String Headless Bass. Doesn't look like there's any for sale though.
  2. I bought an acrylic light-up 5-string bass from Music Zoo. One LED didn't light up, they sent me a replacement neck (which I have yet to fit). Someone on Talkbass ordered a custom bass from them and it worked out well.
  3. That might change for a fretless as the somewhat aggressive nature of the Nordstrands might not suit fretless as well as the Barts.
  4. The USB port on the MS-60B isn't an official MIDI port, it's accessible and can be used to transmit and receive MIDI messages. If the MS-60B+ is editable using a PC via the USB port, it will be possible to transmit and receive MIDI messages to/from that too.
  5. Not to mention that every time someone says they've bought a B1-Four, @Al Krow has an orgasm.
  6. It can be de-locked. The little screw that holds the locking bits in may be a crosshead or it may be a Torx, which is the only tricky bit about the operation.
  7. It would be nice if they did one with a 1265 or 1505 body rather than the painted one.
  8. I suggest a helicopter view of a deep dive outside the envelope with the intent of leveraging the synergy of the blue sky thinking.
  9. Have you often felt that you are very interested in expert analysis?
  10. Does the Nano Every run at 3.3V? If so, you need to use different resistors to the 220R on each side that you use for 5V. Use a 33R instead of 220R between MIDI DIN pin 4 and 3.3V, and 10R instead of 220R between Tx and pin 5.
  11. I don't need a stand, a washing line will do.
  12. The electronics in my multiscale headless were crap, so I invested £25 in an Artec preamp and it's fine - pickups were good enough.
  13. A few decades ago, a friend started an open mic night in Tamworth, and a relatively old chap called Duke I knew from drinking together in another pub came along with his guitar. I finished up playing bass with him, and learnt that he had been the vocalist and guitarist with the Vikings, the band that morphed into The Move, but had to leave to do national service. http://www.brumbeat.net/vikings.htm - he's at bottom right of the photo labelled "The Vikings in 1959".
  14. I'll never unsee those legs.
  15. I feel that Mr Phillips' magnum opus, A Night in Langney, could benefit from a remix.
  16. We were playing originals songs in pubs. It does happen, you know, whatever you on your lofty cloud may think.
  17. You keep on coming out with this. I was in an originals band up till about two years ago. Of the dozen or so venues we played, one had PA. So your originals experience doesn't extrapolate to everybody else's.
  18. For nearly 20 years it was a Warwick JD Thumb, then when I went to 5-strings it was an Antoniotsai for five years, then a fretless Sei Original from 2012, and now it's either a fretted Sei Flamboyant or an Ibanez EHB1265MS. I still have the others, plus a few lot more that I've picked up along the way. But I have sold some...
  19. Whalesong had nothing on that.
  20. Bandwerkz (bandwerkz.com) is pretty broad ranging but I've never managed to get 100% of a band to use it. It also allows integration of the Bandwerkz calendar with Google calendar and iCalendar.
  21. I thought the necks were similar profile (though I hadn't played my EHB for a few days so I was relying on memory). I was hoping for a shallow C, like the Cort GB4 I had a while ago, but it's a D like the EHB. As for strings - I didn't notice anything untoward, but then again Cort are using D'Addario EXL170-5SL just like Ibanez put on the EHB multiscaless so that's not surprising. Perhaps you played one that had previously been played by someone with mucky hands.
  22. But Jaco only needed four strings to play a random series of notes, Nilo has a 6-string.
  23. You shouldn't have ridden there on the unicorn. They were bound to look for an excuse after that.
  24. I'm curious about 3M Dual Lock [TM] - is it reasonably easy to separate after sticking it together?
