  1. There's a couple of things that can be improved on them - the top and bottom halves are slightly stepped at the back where they meet, and the washers are rather flimsy nylon. It's possible to file or sand the rear to even up the two halves, and swap the nylon washers for brass ones. I'd be inclined to use Guyker individual bridge pieces. Or get a Hohner B2/B2V (depending on how many strings you want), shave the wings down, and 3D print some wings for it.
  2. I have them in a couple of basses. Boosting the bass does increase the volume, but only as much as I'd expect from the bass being boosted.
  3. This has put in an appearance here before - some years ago, same description.
  4. As backup to AliExpress's refunds system, I bought it with a credit card.
  5. Yes, box with some sort of textured sticky-backed plastic (to quote Blue Peter). Now repacked and awaiting post back to AliExpress's UK-based returns centre.
  6. Good point, although they will now forever be in that quoted post...
  7. Do you prefer adjustable spanners in metric or imperial?
  8. But presumably you would want what is on the headstock of the bass to match the rest of the bass.
  9. I thought you wanted to be in the band.
  10. That's not good. A broken headstock that's been glued back on and a further break down the neck causing the fingerboard lift mentioned in the description. I would guess that wicking in glue (or pouring it in, given the width of that crack) and clamping it up would do the job but I wouldn't want to risk it, especially not for a through-neck bass.
  11. Ho hum. Not quite as described. You'd think they could have put a bit more effort in. Refund applied for from AliExpress.
  12. I'd like to do "Won't get fooled again" (just the cut-down radio version). Doesn't quite qualify as it would fit the band but it's an uphill struggle trying to persuade them. The one I'd like to do that wouldn't fit the band is "Maria" by Blondie. Used to do it with Mrs Zero on lead vocals but the current band has a male lead vocalist and I don't think it would work.
  13. Due to be delivered on Monday by lunchtime. The moment of truth approaches.
  14. I think I'd buy @Quatschmacher's Behringer Model D.
  15. Neck dive solved.
  16. I have mentioned Leo's idiot son Stan before, who decided that basses needed an enormous billboard at the end of the neck to put the Fender logo on, so the originally planned headless bass never came into being.
  17. It's an odd one, as if the jack socket tip wasn't making contact but when you pull it partly out the ring (balanced -) makes contact so you get the signal. Knackered jack socket, failed solder joint? And have you tried with a different lead (not that I think that should make any difference, but worth a check).
  18. Is that another AI generated description?

Be careful with the rollers, they have a bit of a tendency to stop rotating and you get drag marks instead of stippling. You get the hang of it after a bit and it's not a disaster when it happens. TBH I was quite surprised, given what a clumsy git I am, that it was so easy to get a great finish.
  20. Alto TS308s for monitors and TS408s for FOH. Vocals only, except when one guitarist CBA to bring his cab and I run his pedalboard amp through the PA. Good sound and plenty loud enough, and less than 10kg apiece.
  21. Scratchplates. Horrible things.
  22. Are you actually Essential C. Tension? In which case you must be ECT and I've already asked for you to be put on the list.
  23. I forgot to mention the rest of the band - as soon as their gear is loaded, they come back to help me (as I'm derigging the PA as well as my own gear, I'm generally ready to load up after they're loaded).
  24. Somewhat dodgy back - now every item of gear is < 10kg, hence Alto TS308s and TS408s for the PA and a GR Bass AT800 Cube for a combo.
