1. Lovely bass ian. That's quilted maple on the front. Nice piece too.
2. I know what you mean. I have played around with the EQ a lot. I have the mids boosted a lot for headphones and cut them a lot for amp use. That gives me a similar sound for the two.
3. Already being discussed as it's the second time it's been put up for auction. Been reported to Ebay as well. http://basschat.co.u...ve-amongst-you/ EDIT: should read whole post before I post. Doh!
4. I would think it is a Matrix. You can see the difference for yourself on the Catalogues page of Statii.com. Just click on the Matrix and Series II links. http://www.statii.com/status_cats/index.html
5. These bits of wood are almost good enough to have been chosen by Rob Green himself.
6.
Thanks bud. If my height is wrong Would these files work on a brass nut?
I'm not sure about what files to use. Adjusting a nut is something I leave to a luthier. Don't trust myself with it.
7. This might be useful to you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cI9Y9MsmnEc&list=FL4vFv6-gg4sDK0K8YK770sA&index=11&feature=plpp_video
8.
Will try that next time, to be honest I found the majority of the faff comes from the nature of guitar strings as opposed to the trem itself, I tuned and stretched them out locked it and fine tuned, ten minutes later needed to unlock and retune then fine tune them again, stable now though.
That's certainly true. Fraid I haven't been shown a way round that yet.
9.
...after the faff that is changing Floyd strings...
Nice buy you have there. Changing Floyd strings doesn't have to be as much of a faff as I first thought. Don't know how you do it but try putting the ball end on the machine heads. Then you only have one end to cut. Friendly luthier taught me that one when he set up my Floyd Rose whammy.
10. And what is that big fat arm covering up?
11.
What does it look like?
12. If you put 'guitar decals' into ebay search box you'll come up with loads. Try the 'Fecker Fraudcaster' or the 'Fecker Imprecision Bass'
13. Sounds like quite a bargain. I'm sure it'll have a big sound with that block of wood. Have you booked in with the osteopath yet.
14. Nice playing and a cracking sound on the DB.
15. Lovely basses. I have one and everyone who hears it and knows anything about DBs always comment on the quality of tone from it.
16. Is there really any difference between reliced and wrecked?
17. What does it look like?
18. I think the CRT4 has no mag pup. However, you are getting a good pre-amp on it, which is very powerful. The NXT has no pre. So I'd say those prices are quite fair. The only problem is, are you willing to pay that kind of money?
19. I'd agree with icastle on the small practice amp. However, if you must you might be able to take a lead out the effects send and into the hifi. Do not under any circumstances take a lead from the speaker outputs. That will more than likely blow up your hifi.
20.
Did I mention it's been played (well, held for a photo actually) by Nicola Sturgeon MSP, Deputy First Minister of Scotland?? I doubt if it will add to the value...
I'm not sure that's something you should shout about too much.
21.
GAK (www.gak.co.uk) always seem to have very low prices. And Thomann (www.thomann.de).
I've found recently that Sounds Live has been very competitive with Thomann, certainly with the gear I've been looking at.
22. A simple Google search throws up loads. 23. I think the Aebersold tracks come with the bass on one side of the stereo and piano on the other. You simply pan one side out. Here's an example on you tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kqid2S-UprU
24. Is that bra holding in a pair of 24Fs? Or is that too subtle? Looks luvvly
25.
I'm waiting for someone to organise a 'Grab a Gramma' night...
It#s not that kind of Gramma. It's de way de yoof talk abat fings, innit.
