1. Confusing! Body shape and head say ESP LTD but pickups, controls and bridge pieces are not like any ESP I have seen, and I own two of them. What does it say on the head? I wonder if it has had a new face put on it?
2. Interesting comparison. I have the micro pog and love it. It's the more natural tone of the sub and +1 that I like. I can see why you prefer the more synth like tone of the others though.
3. Yes, I have done this. Wood is very flexible so will take quite a bend without any problem. Think of the sides of an acoustic guitar.
4. Thank you.
5. I have just finished an ambient flavoured arrangement of Silent Night. All played on my Overwater Fretless through lots of effects which are listed in the description. No looping on this one, tracked onto Cubasis on the iPad. Have an ambient Christmas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_SlqJvNNLg
6. Never been a fan of P basses but the middle two make up for that in every way known to man. Very beautiful.
7. Yeah, not unexpected but who knows. http://youtu.be/p75V7EFiDmU
8. As soon as I read the title of this thread one song came to mind, Steve Hackett's Shadow of the Heirophant. All the more poignant that he is still alive and able to play it. http://youtu.be/6SEgJtq2JjU
9. Look at it another way. If you had to pay for advertising, how much would that cost? Doing it this way you are playing to a crowd who are likely to be simpithetic to your music. Advertising can never guarantee your target audience will ever see that advert.
10. When I read this thread title one song came straight to mind, Rise Again by The Rankin Family from Canada. A beautiful song and all the more poignant that Rayline Rankin who sang it died three years ago. http://youtu.be/hffAItzLj2A
11.
Will try my best mate, I'll almost certainly be there and if I am, all my ACGs will come with. Eude
Shame for Dave Swift. No one will be watching him. We'll all be standing open mouthed, ogling this bass.
12. There have been a number of folks on hear who profess to be free from it. Denial is a terrible thing. There is no escape. Mwahahaha!
13. If it's the one I think it is then it's a copy of the Curbow bass. Cort and Tanglewood made their versions too. Great little basses, and I mean little. PICS!!!
14.
There is a song on there called "When We Were Young" which could be the best song evaaar!
I heard this on the radio recently. By the end of it I was just speechless. As you said...
15.

Is that what they call a barbecue summer? I like the body shape. Look forward to seeing this come together.
16. I would take the nut down to a point that the open string just holds a piece of paper under it. Status fretless basses have the strings coming out of the nut right onto the end of the finger board. Don't forget to look at the rest of the setup as well. That's just as important.
17. Another fine addition to the family.
18. A fretless bass in an instrument shop? Go for it. You might never see a fretless in a shop again. Rare things off the shelf.
19. You can put lots of notes in if you want but that doesn't mean they will be right for the song. You can use a walking bass which will work on some tunes but I'd say KISS (keep it simple stupid). Listen to Johnny Cash. The lines may be simple but they are what is right for that music.
20. I think the guy's name was Ty Garner. Bass player arrived 40 minutes late, the band were woefully under rehearsed and there were only 10-15 of us there in a theatre of 360 seats. Only one of two concerts I have walked out on at half time. Shame as he was billed as a great artist.
21. zawinal, you want inspiration... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3w0JZpaHDz4
22.
... and there I was waiting to mention the ukulele
There's always the tea chest bass as well. Just the one string.
23.
maybe its me... I'm just not feeling very innovative right now.... right more pedals....
Ah. That's a different matter. Maybe it's just where you are at the moment. Couple of years ago I became fed up with playing in bands and sessions. That wasn't inspiring me so I packed in the folk session and jazz band I had been involved with for many years each. Two years on and I have found a new direction and very happy with where I am now. Plenty of inspiration. Perhaps just keep looking and when the time is right something will come your way.
24. Alright, alright! Point taken.
25. If we all stuck to playing bass lines on a four string then nothing would happen. Mind you, having said that, Michael Mannring does do quite a lot with a four string. Open your horizons. And as JapanAxe said.
