1. The 63 for me based on your reviews Molan, but the 65 looks just great!
  2. I have vintage look Compacts but it isn't me either...
  3. Interesting as my Wal GAS is derived from borrowing a Mk.1 for some recording sessions which I didn't want to give back due to the way it played & sounded
  4.
i'm gasing for one too matey,i really want a MK1 in black with gold hardware. sadly it'll never happen unless i win the lottery
+1 on the Mk.1 GAS with me too. Trying to sell off some basses to raise the funds but no joy so far... Hope it's not 26 years like AceBassMusic a couple of posts ago
  5. Thanks ern500evo and I plan to and can't wait!
  6.
Nice one Jon. No more X-Factor either I guess.
A bit unfortunately Dave, but from the equipment supply side not the whole thing
  7.
...I am currently in a work situation that has made me stop gigging but have a few irons in the fire to change this so watch this space !!
Nice one Tony and good luck. This is basically what I done and something came good in the end even though it took over a year of looking & applying.
  8.
Knowing both sides of unsociable hours, I can only say: Congrats, Jon! best, bert
Thanks Bert. The feeling is a bit unreal at the moment!
  9.
...Enjoy it !!
I intent to, thanks kennyrodg!
Fantastic news Jon! Time we revived that Metallica jam idea with your bro and guitar mate
Yes yes Mr. C!
  10.
Good on Ya! It`s always important to have some "you time"
Indeed. It's been tough at some stages.
  11. Hi BC'ers, I'm so happy that I just wanted to share this with you all. I have been offered and taken a job that has got me out of over 4 years of very unsociable hours which has meant I had no real band playing time. Infact there was no allowance for me to do anything regularly So I'm now into my notice period and am looking forward to getting back out there in due course! That is all! Cheers, Jon
  12.
...Do you have to register to get the image?
Yes, to download a rendered JPEG. But you can go through the motions and get a screen shot at the end for free
  13.
I would have to have a Jazz neck on mine though
Apart from your selector switch, here it is! 14.
That does look nice. Just needs some white competition stripes
ooh, I like the sound of that!
  15. I'm digging this kind of thing at the mo:
  16. BassHavoc do make sure any song writing credits are maintained as others have mentioned. Did you have a band agreement? Was it followed? Again worth pursuing if it wasn't done properly. My Bro went to school with a bloke who was outed just like you from a band and done nothing about these points. He now has nothing from it and has to see them all over the place doing well. The band? Scouting For Girls!!!
  17. IMO when you get to the point of changing one set of high end pickups for another it's not so much an 'upgrade' more just a change in sound. If you like the sound the Dimarzios make and want that then go for it!
  18.
Thats not even a decal. Its just written on in felt tip pen!
+1 I've seen it all now!!!
  19. Hi AdamK550, Welcome to BassChat. My Q's for you are - Isn't the 4 string fretted a Mk.1 and where are you based please? Just the kind of thing I'm after but need to shift some other basses to raise the funds unfortunately. All the best, Jon EDIT: Spelling. Again!

    obbm's feedback

I got a bespoke cable made by OBBM/Dave for my amp & speaker cabs and it is simply top notch kit that was made and with me in a few days - Stunning Thanks Dave and rock on! ATB, Jon
  21. Hi maccabass, Welcome to Basschat. Some pictures of the kit, your location and shipping/collection info for the rig will help you sell it a lot faster and save a lot of questions from other BassChatters. Good luck, Cheers, Jon
  22. I used to use a Mesa/Boogie Diesel 4x10" and liked it a lot... until I got 2 1x15" cabs instead. They make things a lot easier on the old back and the higher cab definitely helps me to hear things more clearly as it's nearer my ears than the back of my knees! Then there's the current subject of having better dispersion and more sensitivity due to the coupling of the cabs. All IMO & IME of course
  23. Great blog, vid & comp Ped, Well done. Cheers, Jon
  24. Nice result for you Legion and well done Fender on the customer service provided. I had a not so nice experience with a faulty bass neck & manufacturer and wished it was as simple as your experience 'cos it ain't nice when it gets ugly. ATB, Jon
