1. My thanks to Peter as well for his excellent job. He is the worlds foremost installation expert with regard to the EQ02 pre-amp having fitted more than anyone else on the planet. It has been a problem explaining the pre-amp to people it is very hard to describe on paper with out making it sound complicated when in the real world it is pretty simple to actually use. All the details can be found on the site, pricing in the shop. Alan
2. I have a few other things up my sleeve but will need some more people to sign up. If we get decent numbers I will pursue my plans. Cafe will sort out take away on the day. A few of you will know the cafe I am talking about. Alan
3. With a little co-ordination it should be possible to get some lifts organised for those that may need them. As we get closer to the event we can start sorting that out. I really don't want anyone excluded from this so I will do my best to make sure it gets sorted out. I will be of tomorrow to see if I can get the local cafe to offer a take away service to those who need some food during the course of the day and I should be able to sort out some tea/coffee and buns in the venue. I will visit the local bakers and see what can be done. Alan
4. Going to pick one of the above dates and try to go with it. Thinking of going for the 19th as the preferred date. Any thoughts Alan
5. Right. The may date is on the bank holiday so it might be an idea to avoid that. So the 19/4/09 and the 26/04/09 might be better.
6. Thread started on the subject. Bash thread
7. Both of those dates are available. The chair of the group that runs the venue will have a word with the rest of them to make sure there is no problem with the let so I will have their answer early next week. She does not think there will be a problem. Alan
8. Sunday would be fine as well. So possibly the 26/4/09 or the 3/05/09 how does that sound to those interested. I will check the dates with the venue. Alan
9. End of April sounds about right. Just need to get some people interested and it will be worth doing. alan
10. There are certainly busses to Glasgow and Edinburgh not sure of the times but I would think it is easy enough to find out. Nearest train station is Lockerbie 15 miles south of Moffat. Alan
11. Leading from some discussion on a build thread. I am happy to organise a Bash in Moffat. I have what I think should be a good venue in the form of the local theatre. This has a stage with amphitheatre type seating and an adjoining room again with seating. It is also a bit away from any housing and has parking on the site. Possibly be able to sort out tea and coffee on the day as well. So basically could I find out if anyone is up for this and when would be the best time to hold it. Open to suggestions for things of interest. I will be getting in touch with a few builders to see if they would be interested but this will depend on the numbers involved. Cheers Alan
12. Right. One swift phone call later and I have a possible venue. The old well theatre in Moffat. Stage in the theatre and a seated area next to it. Reasonable distance from other people so noise not to much of an issue. I can get it at charity rates which saves a bit of cash parking in front of the building afternoon let should be no problem. Let me know what you think and if this is of interest we should start a thread up and try to get an idea of a date. 13. I will have a look at what is available venue wise over the next few days and report back. Alan
14. If no one is interested in sorting out a Glasgow bash I could sort out something in Moffat if there was enough interest. A Scotland North of England bash. Alan
15. I can bring a Harlot R Type single cut 5 and a DR Bass 1260. Alan
16. Very nice Joe. Not generally a big fan of J Type basses but have to say I do like the Sadowsky basses especially when they look like that. Alan
17. Going to try and get down to this. I have one bass finished and can bring a DrBass cab if anyone is interested in it. Alan
18. Spoken to Dave Wilson a few times it would be good to actually meet him.
19. I would be reluctant to mod something like a Sei scared of breaking something. Martin would be the man to see about it and I can certainly supply a pre-amp to Martin if you still wanted one. I have been in touch with him a few times about the pre-amp so it would be no problem. Alan
20. Just take one off and you are sorted.
21.
The more the merrier and to have a bass builder with some original examples would be great. Though I have to admit it 'might' upset Mrs WH as she knows that I've mentioned your basses once or twice... always a bad sign in our house when I mention a bass more than twice!
The only bass I have at the moment is this one. Harlot R Type But I am be able to finish another before March and I will try to find out if Peter can come along he has a 4 string Harlot. I am in no way reasonable for marital discord and will run away and hide if any spouse talks hard at me.
22. The pre-amp in the white bass is a slightly modified ACG EQ02 which John sorted out for Mr Clarke. There is also a black version which has 2 ACG EQ02 in it it make it as far as we know the most comprehensive filter based bass ever.
