It does have a slight amber tint to it which I actually like. PVA is a pretty much a standard sealer but I have never used it on wood and then painted it. I know Morrels do a brush on version of their spray lacquers and I am sure most companies do. But again I don't use that version as I spray every thing. Axminster have a wide range of sealers and lacquers it would be worth a look. They also have a very good help line so you would be able to ask about the products. Alan

Worth making sure that all the products you want to use are compatible with each other. Putting down a base coat that does not like the top coat leads to adhesion problems etc. There are plenty of brush on lacquers available you could also seal the wood with epoxy this seals the wood and fills any pores. Hi Claas.

It will be lacquer with a 35% sheen which is then wet sanded to 1200 grit then buffed with 00000 steel wool lubricated with oil to reduce the cut and produce a satin finish.

Now if I could just play half as well as you I would be really quiet happy with my lot.

Heard this bass at the bash and despite ou7's playing it sounded great.

I am sure he wont mind. I will let him know.

The setup for the bash is Sunday morning from ten. We will have a drummer and a guitarist on hand all day to jam along with should you want to,they will be along to the curry as well. There will also be a double bass demo given by Lawrence from Overwater with his own guitarist. This will cover a fair bit of ground going into the way Lawrence approaches the whole subject of the instrument and the music he plays. Finish up some time round four but just depends on when people have had enough and need to go home. All very informal and entirely to have a good time. Might even play a bass or two if you feel like it. I will be about all day Saturday as I have a few folk coming up to the workshop. If anyone wants to drop by let me know and I will give you the very small guided tour. Alan
