1. I have a trace boxer 65 which i use as practice amp - (would be suitable for small acoustic gigs too but not full band stuff with drummer) - has reasonable tone control and also headphone output - picked mine up on evilbay for 70 quid
2.
Thanks for the "heads up" Steve. Do you know what time you guys are on? The Spitfire has lovely beer, but is a drive away so being there all day could be dangerous
not sure of our time slot yet - when we did their summer thing we were first on but i think we're somehwere in the middle on this one - will update once our singist finds out the running order
3. when i first visited this thread i listened to the pale tone vid first and was so mortified i never got to listen to the OP vid
I to thought this was a spoof,in fact its so bad i havent even heard my teenage daughter playing it! kinda reminds me of some over sentimental soft rock rubbish from the 80s ,and i imagine the target audience is predominately white teenagers not black america at all.
yes - agreed and yes to the OP - this is absolutley f***ing dreadful in fact the pale tone vid is relatively ok in comparison
4.
i really dig this. really creative music. fantastic playing by everyone in this band. anyone remember Tangerine Dream.?
i recall many many years ago when we had reasonably decent record shops hearing this in a shop in newbury and asking what it was and buying it as i so impressed with this track
5.
She has, she sends her regards! http://tinypic.com/r/256fbiq/5
oh ... it's a P better luck next time

7.
I was the engineer running the show last night and the guy that legged it on stage to plug christians mic back in at the top of the show they were incredible especially the last number going through the soul hits some of those lines i struggle with on electric let alone upright plus to boot they're all lovely guys an a pleasure to deal with be interested to hear your thoughts on his bass sound? 8. ok so i tried the chorus i am now mesmerised and speechless you utter UTTER BASTARDS all of you now i have to go and scrub my eardrums with wire brush and dettol ed - is it for real? is it meant to be a spoof? do they realise what theyve done for the whole interwebs to see... forever ???
9.
EDIT: stay with it till the chorus, or you'll miss the best bits.
im sorry i [s]didnt[/s] couldnt make it to the chorus
10. mine are about 4-5 mm on the bridge and 7-8mm neck - so have always presumed the pickups are matched and not compensated
11. i found this one already in BC colours (sort of)
12. do you have a fur/fleece lined deer stalker type with deputy dawg flappy ears?
13.
Fie! And you a roister-doistering agrarian music specialist? A 'backlog' is the log you keep at the back of the fire, all ready to go, like. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/backlog Hence the much-performed song 'Hoy The Backlog!': 'Hoy the backlog, hoy it over, hoy it to the back. An hoy ye now the backlog no fire shall thee lack All: Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy the Backlog Hoy!' (Trad: adapted by Rambling Syd Rumpo)
what in the name of the flying spaghetti monster are you doing up at 2am? hopefully not trawling the interweb for 'guitar' forums but instead something much more wholesome?
14. we had already done aint no mountian high enough but now we rerehearsing it and mashing tears dry on their own into it as well along with jessie j casualty of love joss stone super duper love not all mashed intogether of course
15. Oops I just realised that my soundcloud is music less and just following other people
16. Can't be a rick band?? Nobody plays fretless for rock right?'
17. i like gusto's idea - anybody turning up to rehearsal who clearly hasnt bothered their arse to learn the stuff beforehand should pay the forfeit and stump up the cost of that rehearsal session i must confess i have done this a couple of times but it was purely in the band's best interests as i was trying to steer us away from 'less than satisfactory' material
18. statuses(usii) usually have two buttons - i use the one nearest the floor and it still doesnt neck dive - tried the other one but as i like my bass quite high up it doesnt leave much room for getting in and out the lighter weight of my two j's has the standard postiion buttons and no neck dive and the TRB has a long neck but the body is so heavy there is still no neck dive with the buttons in usual butt and horn position is this problem limited to only specific guitar designs (tbirds v's explorers etc) as ive never come across it with any of my boring standard shape basses tbh
