Another disappointment was that i wasn't told to turn down. I must seriously adjust my atitude.
ah there now you see if you had tasked your new friend to go stand further back in the venue and give you some finger signalling he could have checked your sound level/balance for you because you cant hear the full developed sound and volume of your cab when you're stood right next to it
....and obviously an attempt to attain some retro-chic and just as much a "costume" as any clothes that someone might wear.
seriously? i would have thought that somebody who doesnt really care (edit: 'these days' ) that they look like they have just got out of bed after three days asleep and thrown on an old black tshirt , and his credentials as a musician/guitarist, the last thing he would be doing would be playing a ric as a fashion item just my opinionion of course -
thanks for that - ive asked around these parts in the usual places but it really does seem like quite a niche little closed shop tbh nice hat btw
When did you find out? If it was clear when the booking was made then I suppose you are contractually obliged - but if you only found out today - I would tell them to go look for another band, at one day's notice
yes this i like this and let us know the outcome of their frantic scrabbling and grovelling to find a replacement

90 days is ridiculous , how many b2b contracts are there working on 90 day terms? 14/28 is more the norm and anything over one month usually by agreement edit
Sounds like a good excuse to significantly increase what you charge for the gig, due to the hassle factor. Sounds to me as if the Hotel chain, or the agency that works for the chain, are having cash flow issues. I'd be worried about ever getting paid at all.
possibly this or maybe they just have ideas above their station and think their corporate arrogance thinks they are so big that they can dictate terms and conditions so heavily and unfairly biased in their own favour never ceases to amaze me how since the whole legal personification of corporations thing came into being that big-corps really do seem to like to adopt and eschew all that is worst in human nature

something about the dulling machine heads and the bridge is ringing alarm bells for me on this one - ive seen similar and older yammys with much better condition hardware
Yes but will it sound as good as a Stingray and will it be any good for metal?
It will probably sound better
"Never underestimate the power of standing on stage, dressed in black and holding a guitar." - Attribution unknown
ok ok so technically she's not wearing black -
i used to play skinny strings and to a much better standard than i will ever manage on bass but i changed to bass as i prefer the whole bass thing i can see how some peeps regard it as all a string thing and bass and guitar are just far ends of a spectrum that includes both but the distinction for me personally between the two is actually increasing with my old age and cynicism
