  1. not much interest in this and as i have been looking at it more finding a lot of things that i am seriously quite unimpressed with - so much so i am going to ask the previous owner where he bought it from so that i can make sure i never EVER buy a bass from them!!! off to the luthier for some setup work WITHDRAWN for now
  2. bump for the weekend
  3. sorry not really looking for trades
  4. i just bought a us j a couple weeks ago gigged it once on 27th for an hour and its gone back in its case and is up on the boards here and on facebook for sale - its a lovely bass in superb condition but i just dont like the feel of it but otherwise a huge J fan, like you say its not always easy finding the one you get on with when there are so many variants
  5. no marks whatsoever, recently bought by me two weeks ago used for second half of gig for about an hour - purchased from one very careful previous owner (very low use) - IMMACULATE condition no marks or scratches whatsoever - Olympic white currently with a tort scratchplate but original black plate will be included - active/passive with fender N3 pickups - new style black moulded hard case - all the case candy - more pics to follow - reason for sale - i prefer my status as my main gigging workhorse collect maidstone, kent or will deliver 'reasonable' distance sorry forgot to add not really interested in trades except possibly a sandberg california or status plus cash
  6. Maybe try listening/studying some easier examples , takenfive is probably the easiest that comes to mind, say something like gong/village master builder which is still easyish but requires more concentration and when you’re happy counting along with those search out some more complex ones and eventually you might be able to count along to something like zappa’s Keep it greasy
  7. shhhh dont tell them ... 🤫
  8. was it improv? or was it written by yoko? ***enquiring minds need to know***

  10. we have a keyboardist and drummist too
  11. can we safely assume you have not tried enough 5 or 6 strings in that you seem to safely make this sweeping generalisation i'd agree that a great number of lower budget 5s and 6s may not have a very satisfactory low end but from experience of owning an early 90s TRB6 i can assure you they are anything but that which you claim - try one out when you get the opportunity, they are a bit rare now but if you get the opportunity you will be very surprised
  12. this and/or the di out the front of the hartke - they 'assume' it is clean/pre but are blissfully unaware of the pre/post button on the back
  13. Nick Lowe having a bad hair day?
  14. preloved sandberg electra for about 300-350 ish best value out there imho ymmv mcton etc
  15. this and the "aspirational lifestyle marketing BS "
  16. get a dog and a nice motorhome
  17. i think linking it to trumpy pumpy or any politician for that matter, and inferring that gibson's decline could be terminal because of politics is a bit disingenuous - gibson's ceo and his board chums managed that all by themselves with their executive "lifestyle choice" decisions without any need for political scapegoating
  18. you paid for the whole pineapple but i bet you didnt eat the spikey bit on the outside 😆
  19. doesnt work very often ( imho ymmv mcton etc etc) this example works extreemingly well great player great tune
  20. I don’t think theloose screws made it inside the cab is sealed not ported and it all sounds clean now
  21. didnt have to disassmble the cab in the end just remove the back plate they were already missing so i guess theyve vibrated themselves completely free whilst being hammered by the LH500 at full whack lol
