Can anyone recommend a courier to move a VERY large cab?
steve-bbb replied to Beedster's topic in General Discussion
i used UKMail to collect my cab and head from oop north total aout 45-48kg ish think it was about 35 ex vat quid but cant remember exactly to be sure but id be surprised if it would be much more than 60 quid for a 55kg package - 55kg shouldnt be a problem as they charge by volumetric weight and there is stepped premium increase for extra insurance levels to your requirements -
ive used briwax brand- it is beeswax mixed with solvents to make it 'spreadable' (used to be toluene but think its been replaced by something less noxious these days) it soaks into raw wood very fast and will polish up nice and shiney once the wax has settled and hardened
What a delightful part of the M25 this is! I've often thought how nice it would be to spend a couple of hours enjoying that two mile stretch by Leatherhead, especially instead of attending one of those boring bass bashes...
likewise - sadly i wont be able to grace you with my feline ginger charms (nor my stone-clad TRB) as i heard the travel news on the wireless and turned the motor vehicle around at the next junction but hope it all goes thumpingly well for everybody who does make it
I thought that. Perhaps it powers a small radio, or an alarm clock.
or maybe one of those zapper thingies like those controversial dog collars that gives you a wee zap when you play a bum note -
apologies for late posting but just about to travel over from medway towns area if anybody might be looking for transport give me quick PM

its sort of anchored but floats around position wise depending where im plucking the sting for whatever tonal nuance i wish to achieve (my tone pot tends to stay fully open in fact it might well as not be there at all) and then occasionally my thumb will come away from its anchor completely but mostly for various ppp soft tones otherwise it is anchored on the top of either pickup or sometimes on the top edge of the very end of the fretboard edit - i tried anchoring my thumb with a pick the other day but it almost dislocated itself in horror!!
FWIW the address given is used by several companies and is likely to be the office of an accountant or solicitor. There's nothing wrong with this, it's quite often done by very small companies that don't have their own office premises. There's a company registration for IMD Trading Ltd, which is the legitimate company that trades bathroom fittings on eBay. One of the previous names they used was IMD Digital, but they changed it in Nov 2011. The website, as we were told in post #15, had nothing to do with the owners of IMD Trading or IMD Digital. By the look of the classified ads so called IMD_Digital is posting all over the world, they're targeting people outside the UK who wouldn't find it so easy to check up on them.
plenty of yin and not much yang one section of polyrhythmic cacophony going into another and then another just doesnt really take me anywhere - the first section up to 1:40 ish was listenable and getting there but then it sort of disintegrated completely before coming back into some sort of disordered order

i cant even get the hang of my chorus and octave pedal yet

Can anyone help with this? Getting so frustrated.

I originally had my eye on something else but went and checked a few out at a drum shop, and I liked this one the best.
our band has one too they are very good - have you tried micing yours? i suggested try it with some piezos - might be interesting
I find anything out of the pentatonic scale works, basically go up a sting or 2, and play the same fret or 2 higher, does that make sense? some muso will probably tell me I'm talking bollocks but it seems to work for me
that'll be a fifth then
-
whilst sticking in the keys means that technically speaking any notes do as all the above say some notes will be better than others this is why bass tends to stay predominantly on roots/octaves and fifths because they are nearly always 'safest' other intervals such as fourths and sixths work but they often work better as 'passing' or ghost notes when they effectively moving you back towards resolving a beat or bar on a fifth or a root

The Other Notes....? Moving away from Root and 5th
You are approaching it from a chart reading sessionista's point of view though mate. To really do this properly, you have to be expressing yourself at the speed of thought. To do that you have to use you ears and experience. Your fingers need to have eyes, to quote Steve Vai. This comes with practice and experience. Knowing what intervals sound like is critical, having an imagination to use them is even more so. You don't need to give these intervals names if you don't want to, but you DO need to know what they sound like. You also need a vocabulary of phrases that you like (liking what you play is also critical if you want to play with any expression). You should be able to sing these in your head and play them without thinking as you adapt them to musical situations. I am also of the mind that deciding what notes you LEAVE OUT is a better approach to what notes you PUT IN It really is all about educating your ears and playing what you LIKE hearing. You have to develop your musical imagination. Of course a session player needs to be able to play almost anything, but I don't think that's where the OP is coming from.
this if you dont know what notes to fit in the spaces then its probably meant to be left that way my main concern is there will always be a pesky guitarer whose ears will prick up at the empty space needing filling and they will feel an uncontrollable urge to start widdling all over the place -
My guitarist friend has got one of those powerball things (the gyroscope wrist strengtheners things) He claims it made a huge difference to his wrist strength and helped him with guitar speed. I'm a bit sceptical (he talks a lot of crap) so I thought i'd ask the BC population of their thoughts (link to the sort of thing I mean: https://www.powerballs.com )
(he talks a lot of crap) this better off with these
