Get in! He really is awesome, but upsetting.
but not quite as traumatic as suffering the embarrassment in the privacy of your own home of watching cheryl cole trying to sing on t'telly
plus the one. decaff anyone ?

Wow - flame brigade! I'm surprised by the negativity on here - I wonder how many BC members would appreciate being told they're s**t when they post their little you tube vids. Way I see it - it's probably linked to the "play for free thread". They've made the ad, if you don't want it - ignore it. I'm not sure it warrants the pikes and burning torches. Just my opinion of course.
plus one there are plenty of vids on the show us you playing thread which wouldnt come up to this band's standard but many people offer polite criticism and advice and encouragement why slag off bands like this? not big. not clever. just my cynical ill informed opinion you understand -
I tke the same view as I've always done towards tech , particularly new tech. Will it do a job for me? It's the only question to ask really. Personally I'd also ask if that job would be cost effective but many wouldn't care so much about that which is fair enough,
this +1 i dont recall many people criticising brian may when he did the brighton rock solo all those years ago - he only has two hands and can only play one guitar at a time so he used what was available to him to set up the whole multi-layered delays/rounds thing to great effect imho

you could get a new squier affinity series for that price and a VM for only a wee bit more the grain colouration in the fretboard looks bizarre - would expect the quality control at fender/squier to be a more consistent colour across the wood all you P fanboys out there... anybody else think the body shape looks slightly 'close but not quite there' ?

did she boogie around and shake her thang to your groovy tones?
That's a pain Have you tried the effects loop send/return? Might give a clue as to if it's the pre or power stage? Also, IIRC those sockets have some kind of switching arrangement - might be worth giving 'em a dose of switch cleaner and giving them the beans with a jack plug.
I took it to a local amp specialist and he said it was something to do with those sockets on the small board at the back and that it was internal in the sockets/wiring - apparently they are non-standard hartke spec sockets - albeit regular 1/4 inch - but not sockets that you can replace from maplins is working a treat now note to self - must check to make sure both preamps and master are not maxxed and the EQ maxed and the contouring maxxed before testing it!!
Hmmm.... interesting theory - might be that having two X chromosomes is incompatible with slapping
BASSIDA

Audition Cancelled / Force Majeure ....
steve-bbb replied to BassPimp66's topic in General Discussion
OK, the story is as follow. I hook up with a group of musicians and for couple of weeks we tried to put a date in the calendar to audition me. After a few attempts, we locked a slot. The evening before I confirmed I would be attending the audition on the next day. Then, I got a call from my pregnant wife who told me she was going early into to labor. I spent a sleepless night at the hospital and witnessed the birth of my baby girl in the early hours of the morning. While my looking after my wife, I called the guy I arranged the audition with to cancel, explaining the Force Majeure. Now, it's been a week and they are ignoring my attempts to reconnect and put a new date in the calendar. I think I've been marked as unreliable... come on! Anyone with similar experiences?
screw them - theyve obviously got no sense of priorities and cant see further than the end of their noses congrats on the new arrival and hope another band comes your way soon -
I was just having fun with these guys.
its been deleted??

when im feeling really evil i like to go into music shops and try basses and play them really badly like plonk plunk plunk pink oops buzz plink plink rattle and like try and slap a bit but do it purposely really badly if i get the (saving himself for lara croft) rock super-hero type response from shop assistant AND i can keep a straight face i will try and ask a really dumb question or two just for the coupe de grace edit - oops sorry forgot ... and to keep in with the OPs theme ... i will then offer the shop assistant part-time rock superhero my verdict after reviewing said instrument
Whats wrong with listening to the record and figuring it out for yourself? I don't think I've ever used tabs to learn a song and as a dep for function bands I've often had to learn 20 or more in a week! Improves your listening skills no end if you can listen to a tune once or twice and figure it out... One of the guitards I know used to send me tabs for songs all the time, usually I can tell they are wrong within one listen - who writes these things!?
this plus youve also got various bits of free software that you can even EQ stuff out and change tempo without changing pitch there was no such thing as audacity when i were a lad - we had to keep lifting the arm up on the record and dropping it back down have you ever looked at some of the tabs on songsterr(+) (rhetorical question) if you havent then id suggest dont bother theyre shoite

how do you manage the finger in the ear thing whilst playing bass?
