1. Hi, Another fund raiser. Very nice condition, works perfectly, sounds great. I'll lob some pics up later on, but for now, it is for sale. No issues, any trial welcome cab in Nottingham. £350 or nearest offer please. At Chris
2. Here are a couple of pics. I need to sell it so lets have some offer folks I forgot to take pics of the lids for the case, but they clip on the front and back. It is still in the original ashdown sleeve too, and can be slid out with some effort, and I have the feet and handle for the ashdown sleeve. It's great, but just not "me" and I need funds for something else...
3. Also for sale is this baby So, what is it? Well it is was a Yamaha BBN4 (I think). I had it professionally improved in the following ways... Installation of two SD Basslines pickups, and quality passive pre. Creation of a custom scratchplate to cover the routing work. It sounds great, I have recorded with this bass, and it sounds full and clear. I only use it al my backup bass, and as such it simply sits in the case all the time. But I am after a Stingray 5, so it needs to go. I'll put it out there at £200. So, that is both my MTD and this for sale, I only want to sell one of them. Cheers Chris
4. So, I am hankering after a Stingray 5 and have seen something I fancy. However, in order to get it I need to sell this baby I bought it new from Bass Direct in 2012. It sounds really nice, and plays even better. The addition of the full USA bartolini pickups improves upon an already excellent package, and makes it a truly pro instrument. I entrusted this work to a highly regarded local luthier, and as ever they did a super job. It looks great, has a brilliant range of tones, and is pretty light to boot. http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MTD_KZ4_CherryB.html is the new unmodified version for sale at the moment. I think the modifications make it like a 4 string version of the model above this the ZX5. I still have the original factory pups and pre which will be included in the sale should you wish to return it to standard, although I think it is much better now anyway. Hard to put a value on this really. Without the mods they are £700 new. Obviously more with the mods, although clearly it is a buyers market. I wonder if £550 is a reasonable starting point? I think great value at this price.
5. I just got one of these and it is marvellous
6. It's on itv again now fyi
7. I can email pics as the upload function is not working
8.
Been using my LMII (actually, probably nottswarwick's old one!) through an EBS 2x12 NEO and I'm very happy with the sound it makes.
Yep, my old one lol
9. Bought his ashdown hyperdrive. Mint as described, well packaged, and a very swift delivery.
10. I think it is a custom build, but I did not commission it. light case warehouse do something similar. It's a very good case.
11. Well, markbass 104hf witha a LM2 was the best rig I have ever had. Also good with a 102p although not as loud or big sounding Best compromise, a standard 210 ported top and bottom
12.
Interesting...considering he could use a £2.5k Dingwall or Fender for about £1.1k, the normal passive Fender holds its own.
Yes indeedy, and not forgetting his fodera etc.
13.
Was Jools bassist using a Fender P5 instead of the Dingwall Super P?
Yes, he said on Facebook that it is ticking al the boxes for him at the moment, it's a regularly USA standard P5
14.
I love these short threads where it all works out!
Nope, it's not worked out yet. I won't be happy until I have completed yet another mainly unnecessary change of gear lol
15. Yeah I shall do this ASAP, in the meantime I can email any pics. It's in ace condition, and the case is great too.
16. Lol, actually I might just flog the 210 cab to be fair, as I can use PA support on all gigs anyway
17. Lol you may well be right....I think I am trying to magic a bit of cash from somewhere, as I want a P bass...
18. I am pondering this - I could maybe be tempted into a trade for some of my markbass gear see http://basschat.co.uk/topic/195499-markbass-trade-ponderings/page__fromsearch__1 I think your cab might me ideal for my needs....as long as someone buys my combo or trades it for a head...dunno, just going to see what's comes about
19. So, I've got a bit of a dilemma I currently run a markbass mini cmd 121p combo and a markbass traveller 102p cab sometimes accompanies it. I am more than happy with this set up, as when used together it is big and loud, and when used alone the combo is great and über portable. BUT, I am musing over a bit of a trade around of gear, so here are some options... 1..trade the combo for a markbass head, with a little cash my way 2..trade the combo and cab together for one of the larger markbass combos, the 210 or the bigger 12inch one, again with maybe a little cash to me, depending on the deal 3..trade the combo and cab for a head and larger cab - markbass or maybe something else, but must have a tweeter and be light ish. Basically I am looking to achieve one rig I can use for all situations, as currently I sometimes need to use cab and combo together. I'd like either a bigger combo suitable for all events, or a head and bigger cab...I think. Basically just try me for size, I am kind of open to suggestions.... Chris
20. Here are a couple of pics. Need to sell this. EDT - why is the picture uploader not working? Neither basic nor advanced, just says "no file was selected for upload" when it was.... I can email them to anyone.
21. I have been using a markbass mini cmd 121p combo on it's own on a few gigs recently when we have had one or two subs with the PA. In these scenarios, DI'd into the PA, it was ideal. But one gig with a bugger of a load in we only took the tops in, so it did not DI and was lacking in bottom end, but I had not taken my other cab with me. I think to be fair I prefer just using the combo on it's own and using a DI into the PA. Certainly makes the onstage sound cleaner, and we almost always use one or two FOH subs anyway.
22. I'll take it - pm sent
23. A Victorinox big laptop case briefcase thing with several sections. Contains: Leads Mains leads 4 way DI box Vocal mic GK MB200 spare head iPod and headphones Tuner Speaker leads A seeming multitude of multi tools and crap Earplugs A cloth Painkillers Batteries Goes everywhere I play, be it bass, guitar or drums, as I know I will have everything I need, even if often I only get a lead and my earplugs out.
