I'm just home from two gigs tonight using the AER amp two and F&%* me - how do they do this? I understand that there's a bit of processing going on in the amp but the tone and volume is astonishing. The amp two is a 12" + 4" speaker combo. It is deep and clear, with more highs than I really like, but rolled off the tone on the jazz and it seemed to sound more pleasant to me. It handled the larger venue on the secend gig amazingly well for the size of this little beast. I need a few more gigs in different venues to give a better considered and more experienced opinion of this combo. So far it's amazing. The only drawback for me at the moment is the weight. Frank.
hmmm added to GAS list!
I've recently test driven the Amp 2 & 3. Holy Bjesus the thee is astonishingly loud and arse kickingly deep. I wound up the bass boost and thought the bugger was going to have my leg off. Two was amazing but three......... its tiny. It has some kind of German noise tardis inside with an 8X10 2KW Mesa rig inside. I truly cannot express how punchy, warm and musical it sounded. Blown away.
can you expand a wee bit more in what you made of them both?
What output does it have if measured 'conventionally'? I seem to remember the 450 being about 235w but just assumed the 750 was proportionately higher and around 400w. EDIT - just looked it up and the RH750 appears to be 236w as well if measured by standard means! Or maybe I'm reading the spec sheets incorrectly?
that's what I saw too... But if you look at the specs that are different you can see what they changed. While i'm happy to point to the document I've not enough knowledge of amps to publicly pontificate on what it means !
Absolutely I was speaking to mark at bass direct about this, it's something to do with a filter they have In The circuitry that cuts the highs The 750 does not have the same circuitry I too want to try some GK heads on the neo 112 cabs, but can't seem to find anyone with it is stock Molan do you have one in at bass gear ? Thanks
the power specs tc provide for the rh line are quite interesting - the 750 is more powerful but not really in a conventional sense. If you look it up the figures they give go part the way of explaining how they perform
Follow the plans. Even when radiused at 3/8 inch, which is standard for protective corners, the edges of the cab don't require any reinforcement. If they did it would be in the plans.
do you have a hotkey set up on your pc to just paste that in?

Finding bass is less interesting for me than Piano.

everything adds to everything. I've been learning (bad) acoustic guitar playing. It's improved me as a bassist. -
a week or so later... how you finding it?
They are welcome to it. Once water gets into an electric circuit it just keeps corroding away until something fails. It does not do paper cones a lot of good either.
it had failed- I had messaged him asking why it wasn't working - and it had failed due to water ingress.... one of the speaker cones was shredded too...

Think that if the amp is rescueable then tracking down another speaker from Jim bergantino might be a better bet. I'm half tempted to explore it further

if it were me...... secondhand japanese. and does it need to say "Fender" on it, it get even more exciting if it doesn't

I think it depends what the Eq is doing - there is part which is fitting into the room, and another part where the Eq/Eq setting gives it's own character to the tone of the bass.
Bill FM will possibly maybe turn up and say that they're not!

They aren't.
told you so!
Aluminium is not stiffer than steel and was used for loudspeaker chassis long before neo came along.
like comparing a steel and aluminium framed bike. Heat dissipation isn't as much of an issue on my push bike - but you can literally feel the difference with how they behave.
I have another question - I've been using WinISD and some other online speaker dimension calculators, and they're all throwing up rather large box sizes in order to get the optimum sound for a specific speaker, which I understand. But how are all the manufacturers using such tiny enclosures and still getting a good sound? I'd like my cab to be as small as possible really, I just don't understand how they're doing it.
Bill FM will possibly maybe turn up and say that they're not! .... just a question... have you considered buying the plans for bill's simplexx 10? he'll have done all the design work, tuning, crossover design and testing for you....of course half the fun for you might be doing it yourself in which case ignore me! and also the 3 musketeers on here are making a 1x12 with quite a low price (non neo) driver - which looks like a good build too
Two 410s would be ideal as I can leave one at home and one in the band's secret underground facility (dank basement), bung the amp head in the car and have both for gigs if necessary. Not too interested in 810s for practicality reasons and low resale values.
I don't think speaker coils like dank.... BTW... there's part of me who thinks you're a wee bit daft - £1500, esp secondhand could get you an amazing rig... I would start by asking what exactly do you want... what do you want to sound like. then ask how loud do I need to be. then ask how light does it need to be. and then figure out which of the last two are more important

I'm running a ACME B2 cab which is very flat and full range - so I actually tend to have the cab sims turned on. The church I play at has gone all in ears with no back line - the bass often sounded odd through the FOH - the Hellborg gave this amazing full warm clean tone - but in the mix the humps and bumps of a cab (plus the gentle top end roll off) was missing - using the B3 as DI into the PA is great. At the moment I've been liking the Aguilar sim with it's cab, or the B15 for a bigger fatter bottom for less rocky songs. Today I was finding the hartke amp with the aguilar cab sounded pretty good too.
Not a huge market for these I would'nt have thought?
sales equals zeros.

I hear the designer is a basschatter....
