3. Leatherhead - People are free to come and try it if they like.
4. Hi guys Up for sale/trade today is my lovely Shuker Custom 5 It has Bartolini Pickups and a John East U-Retro Deluxe preamp, and is currently strung B-G! Other than that, my knowledge of this instrument is pretty crap! It sounds lovely though Reason for sale/trade is this - I don't really use a 5 string, and since receiving my Sadowsky, I don't really need 2 Jazz basses. So I'm looking to trade for something non Jazz bassed - 4 or 5 string. Either that or sale for £750 If you want any more details/better photos, just ask, and I'll see what I can do . 5. Ah, I understand now. I'm not really down with the lingo of different music style I've so far not found a situation in which the Sadowsky doesn't work really well, although I can't claim knowledge of it working with this music style.
6. I've never even heard of swamp rock, but I find no problems cutting through the mix with my Sadowsky MV4 VTC!
7.
I'm sorry but I don't see where all this negativity comes from. The guy is playing his bass and having a ball. He's brave enough to put himself out there and share, all good imo Peter
I don't have a problem with the video - I have a problem with joining multiple forums, and only posting adverts to his website, and not contributing anything else.
8.
Can i request that josh gets a haircut and uses some clearasil... oh, and also ask him to stop making crap "tuition" videos!
And perhaps stop spamming forums with his videos, whilst making no effort to participate in the community.
9. Just a couple from a recent Jam night, with a fellow member doing a stellar job of being a singist! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qaSVQ6-_bg&list=UUurXl_z7iuBd806Ij145Ezw&index=1&feature=plcp And Travelling Without Moving http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150508939997408
10. OMG that background music is annoying.
11. I'm pretty certain that noteman is in fact Josh, and is just advertising (seeing as I've seen the username on multiple forums, and all they have ever posted are these videos)
12. My personal favourite Yellowjackets/Haslip piece - Spirit of the West http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gQyl2NiYk4
13. It's a Tribute - they don't go for much more than that new (well, £150 more, but still)
14. Just thought I would post my attempted cover of Spain, using 3 basses Sounds a bit muddy in places, but I am fairly happy with how it came out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_YD1ZUyQdY
15. Gasp - the other instrument section lives! Personally, I dabble in Sax and Keys, but neither with any real conviction.
16.
Having trouble forwarding to my friends on iPad. What's the name of the first one?
It's just called Pub Rock and one of the tags is called "Where is the drummer" They also didn't mention having to carry all the gear through the crowded pub, to the set up area on the far side of the pub.
17. If these haven't gone yet, get a free bump from another very satisfied AccuGroove owner
18. How can this thread continue without the bass classic Glide! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q3PsoWbW9I

20. Yup, I'm insured on my home insurance (Direct Line I think!) and as long as it is with me (be it in the car or otherwise) it is insured.
21. Sold/Traded Pending the usual
22. I use audio interfaces plugged into my mac - it's rare that I actually get the amp out. That way I can really hear my mistakes, and can record myself if I have any good ideas!
23.
I have to say that the one thing that lets down all the other currently available tablets is the serious lack of kit available for us musicians. If you want to use a tablet for just reading PDFs of notation and maybe use some of the android apps then cool, but Apple have the market for musicians totally stitched up. There are so many peripherals, such as the Apogee Jam, the Digitech effects unit board thingy, and Alesis IO dock that make the iPad way more than just a tablet. I've never been an 'Apple man', but I'm so pleased with the iPad. I teach with it, run my business with it and as you have said, I can even use it for music sheets. IRealB app looks cool, though I haven't got it yet! I've been using GuitarPro for now along with another app I've forgotten the name of! Ha!
iRealb is one of the best apps I have used! So incredibly useful when someone says "Do you know Desfinado? I want to do it in Bb"
24. The iPad 1 would probably work just fine, although with the new OS updates it can be a bit sluggish (although, not significantly so)
25. Write out some quick and dirty lead sheets, marking the chord changes, and any significant points in the songs (stabs etc.) + a sample bass line for the first couple of bars of each section. Unless they have memorable bass lines that need to be dead on - then it's just a case of cramming!
