1.
Hmm, not sure if this is the same amp but when I was looking a few years ago there were a number of SS Ampeg 1x15 combos up for sale marketed as having been "repaired", and I saw and tried one in Bassdirect as well which had been repaired. It suggests there was some issue with them, but that it was fixable!
I think that maybe referred to a hum that they develop. Not sure what the fix is but it rings a bell from previous googling about the amp.
2. Have the inputs a got clean it with the switch cleaner... And all the pots etc. Still no better. Might take it to someone who knows what they are doing 😀 Any recommendations in Edinburgh area?
3. Lovely job! I have an old blazer that rarely gets played. Its still in original condition. Ive renewed the wiring. I got a qtr pounder pick up but never fitted it in case it ruins the sound. The only thing that i don't like about it is that the lacquer is lifting off the headstock logo and gone cloudy. Not sure if it can be fixed or even if i should fix it. Maybe just best left alone 😀 Despite it rarely getting played i cant seem to part with it.
4. I will give that a try. Cleaner on the way! Thanks for that 😀
5. Hi, I have the above amp which has today developed a fault. When using the -15db input the volume started going from quiet to loud, back n forth for about two minutes, there was a bit of crackling and slight breakup. None of the controls on the amp made any difference to the volume issue so I'm ruling out dirty pots. Now it's seems stuck at a very low output and slightly broken up. The 0db input works perfectly. Any of you technical wizards got any idea what could be up? Obviously I can run the amp using the other input so it's not a really big deal in the short term. I can still use it. Wondering whether it would be worth repairing it or just keep running it as is until it dies or I replace it. Cheers.
6. Flea and Ben Shepherd from Soundgarden mainly. Lots of other players over the years but those were the two that kicked it off.
7.
Thanks for that! Now I've got the f**king Birdie Song going round my head! NANANANANANANAH! NANANANANANANAH! NANANANANANANAH! DER DER DER DER!
Works every time 😉 You are welcome!
8.
Not a big fan of the T-bird but I do like the colour (I'm a bit of a green man). The headstock is a bit more traditional than I would expect with these basses. My guilty pleasure - one of these - all black or all white.
Not my type of bass at all but I quite like the sheer simplicity of the finish. It almost makes the odd shape acceptable. Unusual headstock... tuning pegs on the back? I have a real desire for one of these. Almost bought one a year ago... gutted I didn't. (the rockbass series... not survivor)
9. Everyone is completely aware of the sniping process... It's not really worth bothering about auction items until they are nearing the end unless its a rare item (actually rare... Not just described as so) eBay has had its time for bargains. As already stated, used items go for nearly new prices but for the seller they still need to deduct the cost of sellin on the site so they dont really see the inflated cost in their income.
10. I have the pedaltrain volto, newer one. Like it a lot. Mine lasts about 4 or give hours with compressor and drive on pretty much constant. My rodenberg steps up the 9v to 18v so will be pulling a bit of current. Happy with the volto. It'll run off mains too if needs be. Best of both worlds.
11. The birdie song frees all! Just sing it in your head. Cleans out most ear worms! 😀

13. There have been threads about cheap tuners on ebay before. I got one for £12 late last year and am absolutely delighted with it. Much more responsive than the much more expensive tuner it replaces.
14. Oooohhh! That's a good price. Didn't see that. Think my mind might be made up! 😎
15. Cheers. I shout maybe have said any thing similar I should be considering 😉 I really really like the rodenberg. Just looking for more space
16. Hi, I have a Rodenberg 728B pedal. It's the one with the two pedals, 808 overdrive and a clean boost, combined in to one unit. I absolutely love the overdrive side of the pedal but I don't really use the clean boost at all and could use the space on my board more effectively. I've been scouring the used market for a while looking for a standalone Rodenberg 808b but none are forthcoming. Before I bite the bullet on a new one, are there any other overdrives I should be considering? Cheers
17. I did a year on SBL and got a lot out of it. It does a great deal to get you from the ground to a few floors up but then you kind of have to know what you want to lear after that. There is little in the way of direction through the great lessons available. Might just have been me...
18.
I'll start with Trout Mask Replica...
In used to agree wholeheartedly but now Im on the other side of the fence
19. Seat Alhambra. Enormous and the seats all come out the back if needs be.
20.
I thought if an item was faulty you were supposed to get a new one or your money back straight away? Bad luck by the way, it sounds like a pain in the arris.
The law allows the seller reasonable time to resolve either by repairing, replacing or refunding
21. I got one of those really cheap mini tuners that someone recommended in another thread. For twelve quid it is absolutely bang on. Very accurate, very responsive and takes up little space. Perfect. Hopefully I'll not regret it when it breaks...
