1.
This is the reason I had to get rid of my German Corvette $$ NT Bubinga, even though it was a fantastic bass, I think its caused me long term back issues!
To put into perspective how heavy the corvette was for me. The corvette weighed near enough double of my current bass! A real shame too as it sounded absolutely fantastic!
2. There is the Pro Series instruments which as far as I'm aware is almost like an inbetween stage for the Rockbass and German made Warwicks. From what I've heard the Bubinga Corvette STD is just as good as the German ones (which are fantastic basses if you have a back made of steel). I think the reason their prices have went up so much was due to drastically increasing the amount of time they spent on creating each bass. I could be wrong but I'm sure someone more educated will correct me . Great basses and they do have something that no other brands have (That "Warwick Growl"). Short of buying a custom bass a lot of the time I don't see a point in buying new. Especially when it definitely is a buyers market and has been for some time now.
3. Will sell for £1650 (without Mono bag) whilst there is a bass on here that I have my eye on. If getting sent by courier it will be packed to survive a nuclear blast
4. Nice to see some companies still care about customer service! I've rarely had to contact a company but when I have it has mostly been great service. The main two I can think of would be Alan at ACG and Payson Clarke of Payson strings. As somebody said earlier. I imagine Fender would have just told you where to shove [s]the knobs[/s] your enquiry! Edit for dodgy late night wordings.
5. That's fancy! I'll have seven thanks.
6. "looks like a project somebody has made by hand - possibly called Rick." Gave me a little chuckle.
7. I use the B3K with the MXR Compressor and Envelope Filter and I don't think you'll be disappointed with the B3K. One thing I'd say is worth giving a go is using the B3K and the Envelope Filter together. I use them both together quite a lot and it gives a real clean yet gritty sounding synthy tone!
8. Decided to put this up for sale now
9. I've had the problem with all DR coloured strings unfortunately. I'm still needing to try other (non coated DR strings though)
10. I really like these basses. Played a few in GuitarGuitar and always wanted to take one home with me. Good buy sir!
11. Not normally a fan of single cuts but that's really nice looking...in a weird way. GLWTS
12.
I was always taught that if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all, of course I took no notice and that's why I am disliked by anyone on here with a Ricky bass
Following the advice of my signature I see Pete
13. Some shops (or more the people who are running them) just have off days. I've had excellent service from shops where I have also received horrible service. The horrible service was extremely similar to Shockwaves but for a boss GT10B. I would send them an e-mail explaining what happened. They may go out of their way to make it up to you (think free stuff!)
14.
tremolo do the same but nervously....
If I were to use only 2 pedals it'd have to be my MXR Compressor and Darkglass B3K (although this will be getting upgraded to a B7K at some point)
15. Very pretty bass.
16. Gone.
17. Thats gorgeous. If you fancy accidentally sending me it I'm sure I'll find it in my heart to forgive you...
18. Put up a post in general discussion last week about being uncertain about the sound of my bass and Rob incredibly kindly offered to send me a Behringer BDDI pedal and wouldn't even accept payment for postage!
19. Perhaps he tried to get compensation for his time/effort? It's impossible to really say without knowing the full situation between the two though. I can understand Doug not being happy however...I know I wouldn't if I was in that situation.
20.
If Spencer made a bunch of prototypes to test different finishes out for Doug while they were still working together, with his own time and materials, what is he supposed to do with them? They cost him time and money to build so why not sell them on. Are those complaining saying he should destroy them or give them away for free?
I agree with this but there is definitely more to it as he appears to have been selling the NG-2 Preamps which Darkglass currently haven't put on sale yet.
21. Just been on the 3 Leaf Audio page and it seems that they are selling (or should I say have already sold) one of the Darkglass on-board preamps. Shady dealing in my book. I can't say much on who would own the legal rights to the pedals as quite frankly I don't have the slightest clue unfortunately.
22. It's pretty and menacing looking. No easy achievement I imagine!
23. Can't say I've noticed MM players being particularly militant...Fender and Gibson users on the other hand... I can understand people feeling passionately about their instruments I suppose.
24. I definetly found the DR coloured strings to die pretty quickly, usually within a week and a half which (in fairness) is longer than Ernie Ball/Rotosound/Fender strings have lasted for me. My sweat must be made of acid or something but D'addario prosteels and Payson SS strings are the only strings that have kept their zing for more than a month for me. Including Elixirs which still sounded great 8 months later (only stopped using them as I sold that bass and can't actually fit them on my current bass).
